I played the demo, it's fucking great. It's a little unpolished and amateur, but they've got the game design down perfect. It's one of those games where it just feels good to run around and do stuff because it controls so well and the moveset is so fluid.

You fags can keep whining and shitting your pants about the game being woke or whatever.
eh, less woke and just me having a burning hatred for this cat. Well, okay I just overplay it for a dumb joke. But hey, if the game is fun, especially for such a small studio, will give it a shot.

A lot of the salt and vitriol in this thread came from back when the game was announced two months ago and we didn't even have the demo. Let alone any faith in this game being "fucking great."

I admit a lot of the kiwis in this thread were going full dooomer even saying the game was a sign of "cultural death spiral " but remember we were in a much sadder state two months....TWO MONTHS ago when it felt wokeshit was destin to infect every aspect of gaming forever....the 1984 "boot to the face effect." You could say.

Let's be honest, people on this site will go full retard and cry "woke" over the most pointless and dumbest shit.

I'm not saying I wanna give bubsy a "chance" but the fact that his character redemption is shipping up to rival sonics after the double whammy he took from 2006 to 2013 (06 and sonic boom) actually make that triple of you include forces. Is making we question what's right amd wrong with the world these days.

At least sonic had a reputation to lose and regain, even being fair to the 2D games and say they were mediocre at best. Bubsy didn't have much to separate himself from the likes of awesome possom, 7up cool spot, and that pencil who had a sega cd game.

Eh, that's fair enough, though I think Forces is seen as a mixed bag of ideas that were poorly executed, did get a fairly cool fanmod though. I doubt this game will set the world on fire, but hey least this cat will have one good platformer in meme'd existence. Part me of me kinda does wish this would make Sony bring back Sly, Jax or Ratcher&Clank for another game. Buuut..will probably be a rainy day in May before that happens.

Surprised the farms kinds stopped talking about this one what with atari and the devs doing everything they can to hype it up from the perfect collection of the original bubsy games.
Eh, it's corpo shovelware garbage and people here are jaded enough to spot it a mile away. Bubsy is the epitome of "forced meme", anyway, so who cares?

Like I said this game has to either beat gta 6 (if it ever does get released without being delayed) or at least be on par with it in terms of sales, not accolade (cause nobody gives a shit about that anymore. Just look at veilgaurd critical praise failure in sales) to start a chain reaction of the big boys at Sony and Microsoft even looking at their older neglected ips, let alone letting them out of the dungeon they've kept then in these last few years.

Only time will tell.

I tried out the demo, and I gotta say I enjoyed it. Bubsy has some fluid movement options (was not expecting the Super Mario 64 triple jump, glad it was in there). Funny that it took this long to make a decent Bubsy game.

Ahem:

But yeah all jokes aside. What kinda monkey's paw wish did accolade software make to give this orange bastard 9 lives?
There were 2 attempts at making a Vectorman 3, one on the Saturn and a reboot on PS2, both of which were cancelled.

He may be a lol cow now but remember in his prime angry Joe once said "better games have been canceled and never released." While talking about ride to hell a game that by all rights should have stayed canceled after it was canned the first time.

This...this is one of those games that deserved to live in place of trash like ride to hell.

This game existing sets a good precedent. Atari gave a forgotten IP they didn't know what to do with to a team of indie devs that have already made a good game. If this does well we might see more companies start to do this.

If Bubsy does well, I'd like to see the team that made it make a new Aero the Acrobat game.

The demo is pretty good. The movement is pretty fun with how much air recovery stuff there is. The verticality gained from climbing up things reminds me of Corn Kidz 64. Being able to buy outfits and extra moves makes it so the moveset feels limitless.

paws on fire free run slop
To be fair, Choice Provisions make some really neat games (Just check out the BIT.TRIP Series for example), I suspect that game came down to Atari chucking it to whomever would want it first and it ending up on them, only to end up with like no dev time to make something actually decent, like check any of thier "Runner" Style games compared to Paws on Fire and you can see just how wild the comparison is against Bubsy.

Which is kinda crappy because the idea behind Ride to Hell before it was originally cancelled was actually pretty neat. An open-world biker gang game with a fully customizable bike feels like it would fit into a nice little niche, especially at the time.

But the execution was just so laughably fucked that it's insane that it ever reached stores. It was like something college kids would throw together in 6 months for fun.

But don't worry, there'll be something about it that sucks (the humor is a dead-ringer, or it'll gradually get worse as it goes on)

the depression that the thought of that gives me is unreal
I mean...I get it AAA developer should mean "best of the best" but then again you get friggin bubsy of things over coming a bum rap that goes back to at least jontron and mrenter talking about his games and dropped pilot 12 to....13 years ago (judas priest we're old) and that's just going by when he started getting attention on the internet after 3D was almost left to rot in the dustbin if history.

That's gotta count for something at least.

See that's why this game has such an uphill battle to fight, his reputation has it that bubsy had no good faith as far back as his first comeback with woolies strike back. Paws on fire was only slightly better and now....4D?...huh this is probably the only franchise in history that gets better after starting from nothing, amounting to nothing then lifting itself up to heights nobody thought it would ever reach.
