"Quippy" platformer characters are the worst possible gimmick. No matter how many snarky clips you record, they inevitably start repeating and just become irritating.

But there's a real dearth of 3D platformers these days, so I guess I'll stay very cautiously optimistic.🌈

They had him appear as the flag waver in Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed though! Nevermind that was 12 years ago, a new Ristar game is coming guys, I can feel it!

I miss old Treasure so fuckin' much. Even their more average games were fun because they were so big on coming up with weird but fleshed out mechanics.


Thread tax: Gay rainbow aside, this looks like it has potential the be the only legitimately solid Bubsy game in the franchise. It sure as shit wont be mind blowing to any extent, but it looks to be on the path to being a decent game at the very least.
 
What a great way to modernize a character. He went from an obnoxious, unlikable 90s kid to an obnoxious unlikable millennial.

No, im not joking, I think its great.
 
For the five people who watched the AVGN movie, remember how it opened with the ET EeeTee 2 PR girl saying the devs intentionally made the game shit so everyone would buy it out of irony? That’s how I feel every time this fucking bobcat comes back.

Bubsy haters are just jealous that the Goat keeps getting new releases and kino collections while their favorite has-been platformer " icons " ( Banjo, Crash, Spyro, MegaMan etc ) get nothing.

Perhaps Bubsy can show us the path to the future by generating quips dynamically with an AI. That would be real "4D" gaming and a revolution.

Maybe that's what he tells himself at night when the burden of meme-ing so many worthless games into notoriety weighs on his soul. There's a Plumbers Don't Wear Ties remaster and it's all his fault.
