A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Thanks to their change to membership, I think more than a few not-genuine Labour supporters signed up to vote in Corbyn too, because they could see the potential damage that would do to the party.

They either didn't learn from the Lib Dems lie of the 2010s (whose candidates still get grilled on it now), or stupidly thought the reason LD fell out of favour was purely the coalition with the Conservatives, so risked an even bigger lie instead. Which is very short-sighted of them if so.

Because it's not just students with loans that have an interest in supporting what may appear to be a genuine call to sort out the financing of higher education. It's their families, potential students, and their families too. It seems more and more are being pushed into going to uni, and (at least regionally) with the voting age being dropped to 16 where kids are starting to get groomed into going to uni by their schools, it's not an insignificant number of people to risk pissing off before the next vote.
Considering how publicly these parties desperately beg the youth for their vote, promising such wonderful things as reduced fees, no fees, right down to wiping student debt, knowing it's all lies - that's got to leave a bad taste in the mouth for any reasonable person who's paid attention during any such campaigning period. Can't imagine it sits well with residents of university constituencies either.
Can confirm that not genuine members did join the Labour party to vote Corbyn in. I was in university around the time he was floating around as leadership candidate and some of the local Tory students who were well connected with the Tory group were both signing up to vote for him and campaigning for him in the university on the sly, because they thought he was a disaster. Almost bit them when May shat the bed but ultimately it payed off.

It's a collectible, with about as much legal weight as a kiwicoin. None of the gold collectibls the Mint mints are legal tender. Even the silvers in legal tender amounts aren't meant to be in general circulation.
Yeah, I know it's not legal tender but it's actual real resources worth far more than the easily manipulatable fiat (soon to be an actual digital) shitcoin (((they))) back.

Here’s a bit of cheerful news to start the week, though I don’t know why it’s taken till May to announce something that happened in March.
Stonewalls tranny gravy train is hopefull speeding towards the buffers
The EHRC has dumped their ‘Stonewall Champions’ status. After the kicking that was the Essex University report last week and Stonewalls subsequent hiding of their previously much fanfaired corporate sycophancy champions list, things are hopefully not looking too rosy for their expensive and legally dubious advice and training.

Just send your dashcam vids into dedicated YouTube channels, got it.
You get roughly the same outcome without being threatened with prosecution for saying bad naughty mean words.

Eh, given I've seen at least as many cyclists run red lights as cars I'm kind of fine with them getting it in the neck. Their lack of any sort of identifying plate as well as need for insurance make them a nightmare at times with zero accountability unless they actually manage to kill someone. All this guy will do now is as well as editing down the video to ignore his own stuff they'll also remove the audio.

Cyclists and people on these electric scooters (not mopeds, think those scooters you would ride as a kid but with electric power and speed behind it) seem to think that the rules of the road don't apply to them because they aren't in a car or motorcycle. They are by far the worst along side women and old drivers in my experience.

Cyclists tend to be more likely to abuse the loopholes though they pull some BS too. E-scooters though are hilarious because the rules of the road actually apply more to them as they're classified as actual vehicles so you need both to be qualified to use them and insured. Even then they're not road legal (no lights or number plates) and they can't be used on pavements. So the places where it is legal to use are on private land with the owner's permission or as part of the trials.

The trials are only in certain areas, require trial scooters whose speeds have been capped (and there are records of who they have been issued to in case of accidents) and they're only allowed on the roads and cycle lanes.

Naturally none of these rules are followed in the trials or elsewhere, in particular with children having these bought for them and their parents turning them loose. I had one whelp have to be hauled out of the road by me after they came off the pavement to cross the road and plowed straight into me as I was crossing. Luckily the traffic was paying enough attention to see them ricochet off me and stopped but the amount of kids that have got these e-scooters and are whipping along the pavements on them is daft.

So naturally the usual suspects bawl and scream.

Apparently some darkie who play football, got mad at being called a nigger by a homeless woman and started chimping out on her.

Ryan Gondoh, Twitter already protected.

It shows Mr Gondoh approaching the female beggar outside the station entrance, as he repeatedly asks: 'What did you call me?' before replies 'I called you greedy, darling.'

To which he responds: 'No, what else did you call me?'

She denies calling him anything else, but he insists: 'No, you called me a black c***, you little tramp. Didn't you?'

The woman lays a pile of newspapers on the wet pavement and sits down holding her begging cup, as Mr Gondoh continues to challenge her on camera.

She eventually admits it and says: 'Yes, I did. You're a n*****.'

Shocked, he asks: 'I'm a what?'

She then sings: 'N***** n*****, pull the trigger.'

He dares her to 'call me that one more time' and she replies: 'Mate, you're a n*****. Please leave me alone.'

He asks how much money she has in her cup and she says: 'Not much, that's why I'm calling you greedy.'

The man then offers to 'put more in' and asks: 'How much do you want?'

She answers: 'I want somewhere to sleep.'

He says: 'Well, you know when you call people n***** and be racist and all that? It ain't gonna get you far in life.'

She tells him: 'Go away then, darling. I'm not asking you, am I?'

He promises to put five pounds in her cup but when she puts it down on the ground he kicks it over, scattering the contents across the footpath.

As she hurriedly picks up her coins, he says: 'You ain't getting nothing you little tramp. The old me would've kicked you in your f****** head, you little sket.

'Don't you dare ever call me a n***** again.'

A second clip shows him returning a short while later, claiming he has 'come to apologise'.

He then pulls out a bottle of water and empties it over her head, forcing her to flee inside the station.

He follows her, shouting: 'That's what you get. You dare ever (be) racist to me again. Listen, you little f****** b****.

'That's what you get. Come out here, then. Come and sit down here again.'

The man kicks over her pile of newspapers and repeatedly shouts 'I'ma (sic) shame you' - before the footage is cut when another man intervenes.

Pretty par for the course for footballer behaviour and homeless person behaviour. The fact that he went back for a second go and then uploaded the videos is where it's getting indefensible even for his fans. If he'd just boo hoo'd about his shitty impulse control he'd have been fine but recording it, doing it, doing so again, going home and putting it online is where it's hard to claim that.

His Twitter might be protected but as ever the club's own Twitter is getting comments on everything they post.

What a nigger.

What a nigger.
I disagree with your choice of words because I could easily see a long list of white arseholes doing this. Especially footballers.

But the fact that he thought that attacking a homeless woman younger than him was going to make him look good to the degree that he not only went back to record him doing it again and then uploaded it on social media complete with a snarky bit of commentary...this mother fucker is tempting me.

Instead I'll simply say I've know fifteen year old alcoholics with children who are less chav like than this smug twat.
