https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I'm still absolutely at a loss as to explain how Labour thought that having Corbyn head their party was a good idea. Allegations of spying for both the Soviet Union and communist Czechoslovakia as well as acting as a disruptive agent for either or both have followed him for nearly 40 years, which one would think should be enough of a blemish on his character that he'd best be kept well away from positions of responsibility - or cameras.

Absolutely nobody at all cares about these 'accusations'. That's not just me talking, either. There's plenty of British radio/TV programs that are almost hyper-focused on trashing good old Jerry as hard and as often as possible. They've never even brought these issues up. All they ever do is talk in extremely vague terms about how he's apparently anti-semetic or something and this is bad because it's not progressive. I guarantee that 99% of the British public under the age of 40 don't even know these accusations exist, nor would they even care about them if they did.

Hell, given the way socialism/communism is viewed by a substantial portion of the youth demographic these days, telling them Corbyn was a soviet spy would probably improve their opinion of him.

Tory manifesto out. Have yet to read it.

Edit: Again, unlike Labour, Brexit policy is front and centre. It's on the front page and it's the first thing they address.
From what I can see it’s all pretty humdrum things like filling in potholes but this might be of interest to people who like video games:
Also, given how the online world is moving, the Gambling Act is increasingly becoming an analogue law in a digital age. We will review it, with a particular focus on
tackling issues around loot boxes and credit card misuse.

Jesus Christ, are you a Labour Party MP?

There was only one reason to vote for such a measure back in the day, and that was to fuck the blacks off "home" so the whites could "take back their jobs".
Are you being ignorant, conservative, or just dishonest?

Corbyn supported Bernie Grant (pictured above)'s proposal because he likes black people and wanted to see them succeed. He was probably schlonging Diane Abbott at the time that article was published.

From what I can see he didn't "go after" Hindus, he only said that maybe Kashmir was better off being independent. And then all the proud patriotic Indians who abandoned their turdstained homeland to live in more civilized countries decided to take it personally.
Which is a simple fact, that the Hindu street-shitting scum will always deny.

The antisemitism is a given though, there's no way to peacefully reconcile disproportionately wealthy Jews with Corbyn's Marxist autism.
Corbyn has never been antisemitic. He just opposes murdering innocent people for the crime of living on the land of Palestine, all of which belongs to the Palestinians, none of which belongs to the Yehudis.

The kids are starting to bounce and squeak about the chick from Countdown wearing an irreverent T-Shirt.

Imagine if it had been a British person erasing an anti-apartheid message, instead of a Jewess. I have no doubt they would have been fired by now.

Got to appeal to the widest scope possible to get those apathetic voters (the majority of people). Very average/standard and relatively inoffensive manifesto (not bringing up the epic fails of 2017 like dementia tax, fox hunting or winter fuel which Labour brought up endlessly as "trying to kill the disabled/old/furry foxy woxys (I'm not joking, Labour candidate used that language when I was there) "). Absolutely nothing to get excited about, but at the same time nothing out of the ordinary/left field. Got its mix of some good and some shit, but is far better than the crap of 2017.

That "no new taxes" does conjure up flashbacks to Bush Sr's "read my lips" moment, sounds like absolute bullshit to me. The Aussie point system and giving EU citizens no preferential treatment is going to send people frothing at the mouth in rage, but otherwise there are no incredibly stupid statements that could be weaponised against them by Labour, not that I can see anyways.

Also happy to see that Brexit is on the front page slogan and first topic addressed (you know, the entire reason why this election is happening) and not hidden away on page 80 out of 120 (*cough Labour *cough). Hopefully some of this is just padding for John Everyman and they end up doing something else which doesn't pander as much as they do here, though that's probably being optimistic.

The reason the dementia tax was such a big deal because it heavily affected the property owning middle classes, the property of their parents is often the only significant asset they own and if the goverment was able to claim it to pay for putting them in a care home (While people who never had anything gets in without paying anything) it would mean they'd lose their inheritance.

Now it's intentionally not being mentioned by the Conservatives (Although they did add a fund for researching dementia which I'm sure isn't just a coincidence) and the actual costs for care homes is being kicked down the road and they now say they need cross party support which means they won't get the entire blame for whatever happens.

And this is what astounds me. This is all stuff I remember hearing or reading about in the news, and flat out do not understand why it wouldn't be being played to full advantage.

Hell, given the way socialism/communism is viewed by a substantial portion of the youth demographic these days, telling them Corbyn was a soviet spy would probably improve their opinion of him.

Having emigrated from that part of the world in part to get away from how I saw things going, it's really appalling to see (both through the news and visiting) how people are sliding this way. Unfortunately, it's happening in the US as well.

Who would care? Nobody does. Nobody part of an influential demographic anyway. Nobody in Britain gives the smallest, most impotent fuck about some country in Europe whose name they can't spell, and the Soviet Union has been dead for years. What the fuck is Mrs Council-House going to care about how some guy who is promising her more welfare was once associated with a dead regime that never influenced her life at all? If it doesn't directly affect voters, they won't care about it. Not in numbers significant enough to swing elections.

Few care about the specifics but I think the connections to communism have hurt Labour a lot at the polls. The growth in the Liberal Democrats this year has partly been due to more moderate Labour voters leaving and there aren't enough hardline socialists out there to get Corbyn into number 10. The split in the left wing vote between Labour and LibDem helps the Conservatives a lot.

I mean, I seriously have no hope for this election and after it's done, I'm tempted to emigrate and move to another country. Canada looks nice. No mind-destroying Brexit shit that plagues my newsfeed every single fucking day.

I'm sure a blues bar routinely refuses entry to black people. Holy fucking Christ these dumb tales just get more ridiculous every day.

I don't know how it is in various parts of the States etc but a lot of venues in the UK check ID at the door if someone in your group could look to be under age they aren't allowed entrance unless they provide ID. It's standard practice, I assume the evil white group of pure racists they let in were older and so didn't need to be checked.

I've had it where some friends fucked up and didn't have ID or correct attire on them. In that case, they let in the people who had ID and didn't allow those without. Usually we decided to stick as a group and find somewhere else. This guy probably had the same treatment. Some of them look younger than 25 (general policy to check those who look under 25), they didn't have it on them, got denied, and this guy decides to kick up a fuss. As you said, the white guys probably did look older than 25 and were let through.

Point is, if you want to get in, don't be a fuck up and bring some identification.

I've seen everything from completely lax carding, to carding everyone who looks under 40, to carding literally everyone even if they look like Grandma Moses. I assume UK venues do the same, with some baseline minimum only really sketchy venues go below. The tale is clearly bogus.

Yeah but noone every got a grovelling apology and a fawning media time by saying they fucked up.

A part of me wants to see Corybn win with a decent majority just to see to what will happen.

That's exactly what happened according to the bar.

The Queen of England is not dead amid viral rumors on social media, UK officials say. “The Queen is not dead. She is alive & well and is very much looking forward to hosting President Trump and other world leaders at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday for the NATO reception.”
