A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

An Muhammed has attacked a cop with a machete in East London.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...after-attack-on-police-officer-in-east-london

The officer, 28, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition after being stabbed in the head. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. His family have been informed and are receiving support from Metropolitan police family liaison officers.
Scotland Yard said the officer was seriously injured but would recover. He had attempted to stop a van suspected of having no insurance in Leyton just after midnight on Thursday. The officer, who has about a decade of experience, managed to use his Taser despite being brutally injured in the “sudden and brutal” assault which lasted just seconds.

The Daily Mail love this stuff, they even described the cop as "scalped" in the headline on their main page.

Hero cop's police officer girlfriend rushed to scene when she heard he was machete attack victim - as man, 56, appears in court on attempted murder charge after 'unprovoked and brutal assault'
  • Pc Stuart Outten, 28, slashed across his face, head and hands by a driver wielding a machete yesterday
  • Passers-by filmed rushing to aid of police officer after he is stabbed and they attempt the stop flow of blood
  • Officer, 28, stabbed after attempting to stop a van in the Leyton area of London and used Taser on attacker
  • His police officer girlfriend sent to scene after learning from colleagues who could be bleeding to death
  • Chief Superintendent Richard Tucker, said the attack was 'a symptom of people having less fear of the police'
  • Today 56-year-old Muhammed Rodwan of Luton appeared in London court charged with attempted murder
  • Did you see the attack

How about the absolutely idiotic tweets straight from the cops themselves?

This is from over a year ago and despite being broadly ridiculed, it's still up on their official, blue checkmark Twitter, and I just took that shot right now. That department in particular is incessantly tweeting idiotic nonsense like this.

You may have seen this but South Yorkshire Police ( who ignored Muslim rape gang victims for 2 decades) started asking people to report "non-crime hate incidents" to them last year. WTF has "non-crime" got to do with the police ?

"I just witnessed a non-crime, better call the cops." FFS.

South Yorkshire Police really are a bunch of useless spastics :

‘Child 3, aged 13, was found by the police at 3am…in a semi-derelict house alone with a large group of adult males. She was drunk, the result of having been supplied with alcohol, and there was evidence that her clothing had been disrupted. She alone was arrested for a public order offence, detained, prosecuted, appeared before the Youth Court and received a Referral Order for which the YOT arranged ‘reparation’, drug and alcohol counselling, art psychotherapy and victim awareness sessions.’

So the only person to be arrested when the police found a drunk child, who was 3 years under the age of consent, with a group of adult males, was the child herself.

Because :

One reason given in the various official reports for this failure by South Yorkshire Police and other local authorities was their politically correct reluctance to be seen criticising actions by Muslims lest they be seen as “racist” or “Islamophobic”.

Here's a couple of uncensored pics of the injured cop & a video of the arrest in the link. I'm sure I heard a couple of machete blows landing

South Yorkshire has been ignoring grooming gangs for two decades, worried about political correctness, I wonder why that is the case?

Simple. Hate crime being a big problem means that you can start to push for more draconian control via hate crime laws, and any single interest group can push for more protection.

Trans lobby for example. They’re trying hard to get ‘massive increase in transphobic hate crime!’ To be a thing. That gives them leverage to try to get things like the equality act changed so that gender replaces sex as a protected category . So you end up with a situation where the cops are called on a citizen tweeting and taking the piss, and it’s recorded as a hate crime. Hate crime levels up? Gotta do something about it! Let’s make misgendering a crime, or gender a protected category.

I did a bit of research on so called hate crime a while ago & found that the figures for criminal convictions have actually gone down but reports have gone up & the main reason for the number of reports going up is that it's far easier now to report a "hate crime" online or over the phone, plus, you can report a hate crime even if you aren't the victim. So technically, I could report someone on here for saying "Gas the Jews" & it will be recorded as a hate crime, even though the chances of a conviction are pretty much zero. What a waste of time & resources & it seems like we've now turned offensive speech into a police matter. Fucking Clownworld.

Look okay the overstretched and underfunded police need more people wasting their time constantly every time they get upset by someone saying something they don't agree with, the terrible drunk 999 calls just weren't enough time wasted.

The Home Office have released chicken boxes designed to educate the young about knife crime

Already a roaring success!

Oh the irony of a civil servant being stabbed outside the Home Office, the department responsible for security & law & order. LOL. They're responsible for immigration too, so the irony will be doubled if the knifeman is a migrant.

Father-of-two, 29, sent 'schoolgirl, 14' pictures of himself in a dress gagged and tied up with cable ties as he plotted her kidnap but is jailed for three years after paedophile hunters exposed him

A father-of-two who plotted to kidnap a 'schoolgirl' with duct tape and cable ties and keep her hostage in his wardrobe has been jailed for three years.
Alistair Chapman, of Dorset, was snared by a paedophile vigilante group called Shadow Hunters UK who set up a decoy and posed as a teen girl.

The 29-year-old detailed his sick plot in online chats with a 14-year-old called Lucy, who he arranged to meet at a railway station near Folkestone in April last year.
A court heard Chapman told her he would restrain her with cable ties and duct tape and put her in the back of his BMW before heading back to his home.

During his month-long chats, Chapman also sent the girl videos of himself tied up at his flat and wearing a dress, and spoke of getting her pregnant by the time she was 15.
He arranged to pick up Lucy from Sandling station and told her to bring her school uniform - but when he arrived, he was confronted by members of Shadow Hunters.

Chapman immediately fled the car park but the group informed police and handed over their evidence. A subsequent search of his flat revealed 'bondage equipment' including cable ties, rolls of duct tape and coils of black cord.

Jailing him at Maidstone Crown Court, Judge Stephen Thomas said his behaviour was 'extreme and inexcusable'. 'In the course of conversations with the girl you described penetrative sex with her and other practices which you intended to carry out,' the judge told Chapman. 'You were telling her that you would bind her up, take her back to your flat, put her in a cupboard and detain her.

'You indicated you would get her pregnant and a whole range of activities which on any spectrum would have been extreme but in the context of a 14-year-old girl were completely beyond what would be seen to be acceptable. 'This was a serious set of communications and went beyond would could be said to be disgraceful conduct, even very disgraceful conduct.'

Judge Thomas added that Chapman had shown 'a considerable degree of planning' in bringing his 'fantasy kidnap' to fruition.' Although this was fantasy, you were telling her what you were going to do and to meet you nonetheless,' he said.'This was very real in your own mind and something you thought you could achieve and would achieve. That is a troubling state of mind.

'There was no victim as such but one must bear in mind you didn't know that.'
German-born Chapman began talking to the decoy on March 22 last year, with their subsequent chatlogs running to 400 pages in the court documents.

Prosecutor Paul Valder said the pervert repeatedly talked about tying Lucy up and having sex with her.
'The defendant stated that he would like to tie her up with duct tape and cable ties. 'He expressed a desire to take her home, put her in a wardrobe and engage in sexual activity.'

The court heard Chapman was 'deeply lonely and looking for a friend' when he made contact with Lucy. His six-year relationship had ended after he suffered a work accident and he was living alone, playing video games and searching social media.

Jason Dunn-Shaw, defending, described Chapman as having 'an extraordinary aberration'.
'How this then transposed itself to these feelings and this kind of behaviour and fascination, he can't explain,' he told the court. 'They have now evaporated and he is more keen than anybody that these things don't occur again.'

Chapman admitted two offences of arranging the commission of a child sex offence, one of attempting to meet a female under 16 following grooming, and one of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child. He must also sign on the sex offender register indefinitely on his release, and will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years.

Probably happened because he didn't spend 16 hours a day working a forklift or something as Germans are want to do.

so why was he dressing like a sissy if he planned to kidnap her and wasn't planning to have her smash his balls with a sledgehammer?
