A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

There is NO law against misgendering someone you tard, it's not a crime or even a hate-crime here.

And yet the UK police seem pretty happy to arrest people for misgendering trannies.
Case and point:

Your own government says that 'misgendering' someone can constitute a transphobic hate crime.

So yes, in the UK, misgendering someone can absolutely fall under hate speech if the upset tranny reports you enough. You might not serve prison time, but you sure as hell will have woke cops pointing batons at you and asking for your pronouns license.

The bloke accepted the fine which he shouldn't have and should have let the matter go to court because Judges don't recognise police officers as victims under section 5 of the public order act and would most likely got thrown out.
it's like you're pretending they're not using the system of bureaucracy as a club to intimidate people into bending over.
Not everyone has the time money or freedom to go to court on account of some bullshit summons.
Seeing all these people go "well he broke the law so he deserved it" are thinking in a rather bad mindset. Instead of thinking that maybe, just maybe, the law and its enforcement might be unjust and considering that is why people are taking up in arms about it, the Brits here in this thread are just lying down and accepting the injustice that is happening right before them. Why do you do this? Why do you accept that the government and it's executive powers should just do as they want because "it's the law"; if they wanted to, they could make anything illegal under law and fine you with that mindset.
What would it be like if doing simple things you do every day could potentially incur a fine because of some sentence in the lawbooks, like wearing a necklace too long because it can be used to choke someone or wearing a hoodie in weather exceeding 25 degrees because you might be carrying a weapon under it.
Would these be illegal if it were in the book? Absolutely.

Would it be just?

Think about it for a bit, then answer that for yourselves.
Pink Floyd said it best, 'living life in quiet desperation is the English way.'

Actually, they'll probably arrest you and throw you in court over libel, defamation, and harassment for pointing out the ABCs of genetics. Because as we all know, troons are special snowflakes and the Brits are dumb enough to stand up for them. And this isn't limited to trannies, either; Muslims are also a "protected class" over there. Plus, they'll also go after anything that "incites racial or religious hatred."

But it would be hilarious if two troons got each other arrested for using the wrong pronouns, though.

Thousands of pounds worth of model railway exhibits have been destroyed in an act of "total wanton destruction".

Market Deeping Model Railway Club lost years of work in the raid at Welland Academy in Stamford on Saturday.

Its chairman Peter Davies, 70, said exhibits were smashed, thrown around and stamped on, including a locomotive unit worth about £8,500.

Four youths have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage.

A funding page set up to raise £500 for the club has made more than £32,000 in a matter of hours.

One contributor, Barry Cave, posted on the page: "Horrendous act of vandalism, hope my donation helps a little."

The club had set up the exhibition in the school for viewing on Sunday.

Mr Davies, who trained as a teacher and youth worker, said he was in "total confusion" over the vandalism.

"Models that were made over years were trodden on and thrown around. It's a total wanton destruction of the highest order.

"I've never experienced anything like it. A hurricane would have done less damage."

Mr Davies said club members were "devastated and distraught".

"Can you imagine your life's work wrecked?" he said.

"One guy spent 25 years on his work and it's wrecked, it's just horrendous.

"We will never have the time to build the sort of layouts again, that's where the anger comes from."

He said the club had received support from "all over the world - as far away as New Zealand".

He added: "We will rise from this, no question, we will be bigger and better. But we'll never get the years back it took to build those exhibits."

Lincolnshire Police said: "On arrival at the school we arrested four youths, who were on the premises, for burglary and criminal damage.

"We are continuing our investigation and confirm damage was done to model railway exhibits which had been set up in the school for a display today [Sunday]."

The youths were released on Saturday evening on conditional bail pending further inquiries.

One of the trains was worth £8.5k! Goddamn kids are little shits.

Western culture is overly tolerant of juvenile delinquency these days, and I think that's what has led to a lot of this. I remember growing up in the 90s when people were pissed at kids for fucking up mailboxes, and one of the common responses was "it's just kids being kids."

In the 40's, they said the same thing about kids killing cats with pellet guns. We've actually gotten "less" tolerant.

It would be kind of interesting to post this on 1chan, just purely for the sake of seeing what a 1chan raid would actually look like.

This is one hell of a way to play kick the autistic.

This is true. My grandpa knows a guy who when he was a teenager, his idea of fun was driving around town with his buddies shooting out streetlights. Although this was the era when the cops were allowed to take out their baton and beat your ass for it.

This right here. I fucking hate it when people claim to be a "child at heart" or push the whole "kidz rule" narrative thats been popularized in the past 50 years because this is exactly what kids will do if you let them. They are borderline sociopaths if left unchecked, not cute and innocent as we've been lead to believe.

This is just like those kids who killed that bee farm a few months back. This is disgusting and I hope those kid's get the whooping of a life time.
