A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Both our countries laws based on maritime admiralty law you exceptional individual. Your Birth Certificate is a document of maritime admiralty jurisdiction and it pertains to the sea of commerce, and it comes from the process of ships carrying cargo on the high seas. You and everybody essentially came from the waters, you were all once "seamen" in your fathers trousers. Your mothers went into "labour", your mother was "contracting" and when you were born you got your citizen"ship". And the word "commerce" literally means sexual intercourse. So a ship carrying cargo on the high seas comes to "birth", its called the birth of a ship. The ship comes to port and the "waters break" and it goes down the " birth canal" and reaches the dock. Then the "Doctor" signs a certificate for the ships resources, and when you go to court you get in the "dock". The "banks" control the flow of the "current" hence currency and you make "Withdrawals" and leave "deposits" in the "bank", its the sea of commerce. So basically your birth certificate is documentation that a man or woman had sex and is connected to a juristic person with "legal" status and certifies than a human resource was born for purposes of commerce and if you agree to being that legal title you are operating under commerce and and follow the laws of admiralty jurisdiction.
Shaddup or I'll tar and feather you, redcoat.

Oh shit, now he's doing the "I'm just trolling and PRETENDING to be a mongolianoid idiot" bit.

Touche, easily-pees-his-pants.

Holy shit, I've got the feeling this is gonna be a great copypasta. By the way I guess you missed the insinuation that laws that allow cops to pull bullshit like this are unjust, and as such shouldn't be respected, so there you go. This thread's really enlightened me as to why we threw your tea in the fucking harbor.

Right, let me attempt to solve this.

Yes, the guy was being a tard and swearing at coppers, that's why he was fined.

Yes, this is also a terrifying precident, and any sane minded individual should be scared.

@EasyPeasy, you're being a spastic and that sovereign citizen shite won't help you here. Can it.

At least our cops don't go around shooting people for shits and giggles.

Our cops don't do that either. They do however have a problem when someone tries to run, decides it is smart to reach for something, or resists arrest and grabs one of their weapons.

If certain groups weren't teaching their kids that it was cool to stand up to the maaaaaaaaaaaaan there wouldn't be as many incidents of police shootings.

It really irks me to defend an institution I generally loathe but stop reading anti-cop rags and taking them as factual.

I take a lot of pills for pain and arthritis, not all addictive. Main ones are tramadol, co-codamol, liquid morphine and gabapentin
So all the main ones are basically fucking horrifically addictive? You need fucking tramadol and morphine BOTH? Did you fucking fall down a cliff made of rocksalt and razor blades? What the fuck.

One where we can preserve our anonymity without going to jail.

I'm sorry but what world do you live in where you think you have any anonymity? Unless you have genuinely never stepped into range of a CCTV camera, owned an electronic device more advanced than a Sony Walkman, and happen to be browsing this website with an entirely disposable pre-paid phone that you plan of driving hundreds of miles away from you moment you finish using it, you have no anonymity. Literally all facial recognition software does is make it a little faster to identify you. It doesn't 'compromise your anonymity' in any way whatsoever.

"There's a lot of data about you, so complaining about a system that makes it nearly-instantaneous to identify you and connect all of that data together is retarded".

This is "well if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about" all over again. Fuck privacy amirite?

Its probably oramorph 10mg/5ml and to be taken at night to help him sleep. Tramadol is a shit painkiller and I dont envy anyone having to take it.

I take the 20mg Oramorph 4 times a day along with the tramadol, gabapentin and cocodamol. I take amitriptyline at night to help sleep.

Those systems already exist, and have existed for decades. This is just the first usage of them that might actually do some good instead of feed corporations data on what ads to sell you. Meanwhile, do you have any idea how many innocent people have been convicted of crimes based on the lack of convincing evidence that proves they had nothing to do with the crime in question? I'm sorry, but I don't have any sympathy for people who will scream bloody murder about the horrific, triggering indignity of having their faces recognized by a camera, then scream about how incompetent and useless the police are after another case of mistaken identity that landed the wrong person in the chair comes to light.

Honestly injecting heroin would be safer than mixing amitriptyline, gabapentin and tramadol together. Holy fuck are you doing okay big guy?

So you think that this won't end up being abused by the government at all? That this won't be used to great effect against political dissidents?
