A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If we're including bystanders as guilty because they didn't do anything, then everyone who ever saw these two fags with a baby is ALSO guilty. If you saw two male chimps take away a baby chimp, you'd assume what was gonna follow would be a horrific act of savage brutality. The fact that so many humans have been psyoped into thinking otherwise when they see faggots with a baby, is sad. The blame rests with the faggots, then with the people appointed and made responsible for that babies safety.

Two immigration lawyers have been arrested after the BBC report that found they were coaching immigrants to say they were gay.
A woman in her late forties was arrested on suspicion of providing an immigration service contrary to section 91 of the Immigration and Asylum Act. A a man in his early twenties was arrested on suspicion of fraud. Immigration Minister Mike Tapp, who attended one of the raids, said: “If lawyers, or so-called lawyers, and legal advisers are out there providing this dodgy advice, we're coming after that. And as you've seen today, we'll make those arrests”

The German government says Christian Brueckner cannot be extradited to the UK to face trial for the murder of Madeline McCann due to Brexit. Which is a fucking farce if you ask me. Archive.ph is making me do fucking captchas and photographs to archive > https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-n...e-mccann-suspect-cannot-be-extradited-brexit/, does anyone have an alternative?

I see all this hantavirus shit and the lefty forever-COVID posters I know talking about anudda pandemic close da borders. Like they ever gave a fuck about TB and measles and whooping cough. If rat piss disease closes the border and gets the Navy out on the shore, I will be a happy bunny

I spy some politician-speak. What does "dodgy" advice mean?

Surely the problem is that we're apparently giving people preferential treatment based on them saying the magic words "I'm gay", something that can't really be disproven, and isn't tested at all anyway. That being the case, the advice is actually good advice, from the perspective of getting the client what they want.

What the Immigration Minister should be doing is admit that the system of giving preferential treatment to gays from gay-hostile countries needs to be ended because it's clearly exploitable, and indeed is being exploited. But because he can't say that, he just says the advice is "dodgy", arrests literally two lawyers and waits for the news cycle to move on.

Even if they asked if everything was OK, would that do anything? Wouldn't they just say "yes, thanks"? As for calling the police, I think personally I'd need to see or hear something a bit more than just hearing a baby crying.
Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps their reaction to your concern may persuade you that something isn't right. I don't know. I just think that it's silly to suggest that they were oblivious after they admitted to being concerned over the amount of crying but didn't want to "interfere".

Not an alternative, but, https://archive.ph/M8tHL.

I was living in a tenement in Sco'land. This happened inside the building, at my flat door, so the only people who would have seen it were the students who lived upstairs.

I'm an ex postie. We would do this because people are absolutely spastics and would walk on and break their parcels in left directly on their doormats and them snivel to us about it. Only in flats, anything else was taken back to the office which would mean - back in day when I worked there anyway- having to carry the sodding thing with you back to office on your bike.

Edited to say: this was long before Crapita got involved with RM and you'd have your own walk (that is, route) and it was actually pretty sweet. You'd get to know your customers and be a fixture in their lives. They'd miss you when you were off, you'd get gifts and cards at Christmas, and it was just great. It was my first full time job and I now, over two decades on,wonder how my life would have panned out if I had stayed there. It was a great place to work and I loved it.

Outsourcing is bad, Crapita makes it worse and good lord I could tell you Some Shit about them because someone close to me has worked for them.

Has anyone seen it explained why these two were acquitted but the other three (not counting the GBH guy) were convicted? Even the pro-PA sites don't seem to be discussing that.

I don't get that either. This group of misfits filmed the damage as they were inflicting it on the property, and from what I saw, each one of them damaged some piece of property.

If you are seen offending on film (and your own film at that) then how can you not be guilty?

So I was involved in a local pride that hosted regular events and I met a muslim bangladeshi dude there a few times who was very quiet and he'd traveled quite a distance to be there and wasn't local which struck me as odd, he would also have us take group photos with him. I remember him showing us group photos he'd taken with people at pride events at completely different places in the UK, weird hobby I thought. Then I started going to a prayer group for gay men and one week this guy shows up and I think it's a little weird because he's muslim right? Well during the prayer part he actually falls asleep but no one says anything. As things are winding down he insists we all take a group photo with him. Thinking about it later I have a dark thought that what if this dude is claiming asylum for being homosex and is going to all these pride events and taking all of these photos of himself as evidence of him being a gay and doing gay, Maybe even doing a converted to Christianity so he can't go back to bangladesh or they'll kill him side ploy in case it falls through.

@Rarghs , are you being facetious and sarcastic, or are you actually admitting to being a faggot?

Glad the penny has dropped on you now but rest assured the community you're part of and the "charities" which support them have enabled scores of young, fighting age men, whose ideals and beliefs are anathema to ours, enter here illegally and stay here.

How does that make you feel? Some of us have been voicing the opinion that it's all a lie and that they're being deceptive, for years now and we've been shat upon for this. Congratulations. Well done yourself.

And yes. He also "converted" to Christianity (let me guess, it's CofE or Methodist, right? One of those bs churches that welcomes "refugees") to give weight to his trail of lies. Of course he did.

None so blind as those who will not see,eh?

Gonnabe agood ol fashioned faaaag drag in here if Bongo gets her way. Yeeeehaw
Eh, gays exist. They always have. There's always aberrations in nature. It's how the world works. Just it's amazing to me how the "pride" movement has so captured them. "Pride" is a sin, and making your whole existence about being "proud" about how you like to fuck is gross. And that's not even taking into account how, for years now, the gay community has enabled the mass influx of liars who hate us, into this country.

You could have at least used your faggotry for good by exposing this interloper as not a real gay, but noooooo.

Making gays a protected group was a mistake. Hell, making any adult group deserving of special protections and acknowledgement was the worst decision in history, there's nothing noteworthy or interesting about wanting to fuck a member of the same sex, just get on with your life and leave me alone. Now I have to actually stand up for their rights because deranged Muzzies in Birmingham keep harrassing fags on Sherlock Street and threatening them, but every queer I know keeps telling me 'oh the foooddd I love when I can smell them cooking curry I get so happy when I think of them having a nice meal'; they are going to kill you the moment they get in power. You don't see any 'asian' fags at the pride events because they are not allowed to exist. White countries are the only ones who tolerate you people. Get your head in the game or get it removed.

This is absolute bullshit. We still have an extradition agreement with Germany, even if we're no longer subject to the community arrest warrant system. They're being deliberately obtuse just to try and bounce us back into the union. I won't say it's coordinated to give remainers another talking point, but definitely looks like it's coordinated.

I want to believe we're watching the Greens collapse in real time. Polanski could only hold it together for so long before it all went to shit, but I've always assumed it would take at least another year for the cracks to form.

Can I say I've never really understood fostering? for both children and animals; you are taking someone vulnerable, often with a traumatic and psychologically harmful upbringing that will damage their ability to connect and bond with other humans, and telling them the home they are in for now is temporary? Why not just adopt? I get temporary/emergency fostering before being moved to a permanent house (ie no more than a few weeks) but sometimes you see young kids who have been fostered by a family for 1-2 years and then get adopted out, it seems like it'd just fuck with them so much.

Apols for lateness, but I wanted to chime in. I agree that from the perspective of limiting trauma to the child, it would absolutely be best to skip the fostering stage and go straight to adoption. It’s just never been possible to achieve it, even back in the bad old days when teenage girls who found themselves knocked up were forced to give up their babies, and there was never a shortage of healthy newborns in the system. There always has to be some sort of delay or holding period while the legalities are ironed out, prospective adopters are vetted, matched with a child, and some sort of transition process plays out. That’s where foster carers (or children’s homes) come in.

In more recent decades, when children are removed (almost always due to the birth parents being drug addicts, living in violence and chaos, having mental health issues/learning disabilities etc) they are invariably given the opportunity to win their child back, provided they accept help / get off the drugs / sack off the abusive partner etc (all underpinned by the idea that taking a child away from their parent inflicts trauma that is best avoided, even if the parent is a bit shit). Contact is maintained over months via contact centres, and at some point social services have to make a decision about whether adoption is in the child’s best interests or not. So, fostering is suboptimal but they’ve never figured out anything better.

Back to Preston Davey. There is speculation that this could be his birth mother:

News time

Still haven't decided if they are going to charge the Met officer with gross misconduct for shooting someone trying to murder them with a car.

The Metropolitan Police marksman who shot and killed Chris Kaba is expected to know by the end of July whether he will have to face gross misconduct proceedings.
Kaba, 24, was shot dead in Streatham, south-east London, in September 2022 as he tried to ram his Audi past police cars that had followed him and penned him in.
Sgt Martyn Blake was cleared of murder following a trial but is waiting to find out whether he will be subject to a disciplinary hearing.
A solicitor for the police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), told an inquest hearing on Tuesday that the organisation would likely decide whether to proceed with the case by 31 July.
Kaba's car was pursued by police officers because it had been linked to three previous firearms incidents in five months.
Officers were not aware of his identity at the time, but it later emerged that Kaba was a member of one of London's most dangerous street gangs and was accused of being involved in two shootings in the week before he died.
Senior Coroner Dr Julian Morris will also decide in the coming months whether to hold a full inquest into his death, Southwark Coroner's Court heard.
Matthew Ryder KC, representing Kaba's family, told the court his relatives were "extremely keen" for the proceedings to continue.

"There are very powerful reasons why this inquest should be resumed, and if it is resumed it should be as soon as possible," Ryder said.
Following Blake's acquittal, then home secretary Yvette Cooper vowed to raise the legal test used by prosecutors to determine whether to bring charges against police officers over use of force into line with the standard used for members of the public.
The test used by the IOPC over whether to bring misconduct proceedings would also be raised to the level used in criminal law, she said.
The disciplinary proceedings against Blake were put on hold while any legal changes were made.
The court was told that the Home Office expects to have finalised the wording of the legal amendments in June.

I'll leave the Torygrahph headline as is; Miliband ‘covered up’ document showing net zero plan will increase bills
Ed Miliband has been accused of “covering up” evidence that Labour’s net zero plans will increase household electricity bills.
The Conservatives and Britain Remade, a Right-leaning think tank, have claimed that the Energy Secretary is hiding documents that show his decision to scrap major market reforms will cost consumers while benefiting green energy generators.
Mr Miliband abandoned a proposal for regional electricity pricing last year following warnings from wind farm developers that it would torpedo investment and put Labour’s clean power 2030 target in jeopardy.
The Energy Secretary promised to publish a “full cost-benefit analysis” by the end of last year – but his department has so far failed to do this and has repeatedly blocked the release of an official impact assessment of the policy.
Sam Richards, of Britain Remade, said: “It’s time for Ed Miliband to come clean on his reckless decision not to reform the energy market by moving to a local pricing model.
“Hiding behind process to stop the release of the impact assessment, after announcing the policy, makes no sense, unless, as suspected, it shows that decisions taken by the energy secretary will in fact raise bills.”
Claire Coutinho, the shadow energy secretary, said: “Zonal pricing reduces wind developer profits, but it also cuts the cost of building the grid, which is already almost a third of electricity bills.
“Of course, once again Ed Miliband is siding with wind developers over consumers, and now he’s trying to cover up just how much it’s going to cost you.”
Responding to a freedom of information request by The Telegraph, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) – which flouted the rules by taking five months to respond – has argued that the document was never finished and that releasing it now risks creating “confusion and misunderstanding”.
It also claims that “work on the modelling and analysis is still ongoing”, despite simultaneously insisting the policy has been completely ruled out.
After this newspaper’s appeal against that decision, the Energy Department has warned – without providing evidence – that releasing the secret document could “disrupt both energy and financial markets, which would have the potential to affect even domestic energy bills”.
Emma Floyd, the department’s director for clean energy investment, told The Telegraph: “We accept that public interest heavily favours disclosure.
“However, we have to take into consideration the types of factors outlined above.”
An acrimonious row about zonal pricing erupted last year, sharply dividing opinion in Westminster and the energy industry.
The proposal would have split Britain’s electricity market into regional zones, with each setting its own prices depending on supply and demand.
Supporters, including the National Energy System Operator, Britain Remade, Octopus Energy and Ovo Energy, argued the reform would have cut bills for all households by slashing system costs, including the substantial fees paid to wind farms to switch off when the grid is too congested to handle their power.
A study by FTI Consulting, commissioned by Octopus, conservatively estimated savings of more than £3.7bn a year.
But major wind farm owners, including SSE, Scottish Power and RWE, opposed the policy, arguing it would create a “postcode lottery” and inject substantial uncertainty into the market and paralyse investment.
In multiple public warnings to ministers, bosses suggested that any disruption risked the delivery of Labour’s highly ambitious 2030 clean power target.

The Telegraph revealed last year that civil servants advising Mr Miliband had nonetheless backed the policy and urged him to approve it, only for the Energy Secretary to announce in July that it was being junked “to give certainty to investors”.
Since then, the Government has unveiled plans for “reformed national pricing” and schemes to cut bills for consumers who use more power when there is too much wind generation, in an attempt to tackle a wasted wind bill that last year hit a record £1.5bn.
Under Mr Miliband’s plans, the amount of offshore wind capacity is set to triple by 2030.
A DESNZ spokesman said: “Transitioning to zonal pricing would have created at least seven years of uncertainty, putting a risk premium on new investment that could have caused bills to rise in the short term.”

Honestly the amount of money we waste on repeat offenders is disgusting. Just give them the rope and get rid of them. People like that have no desire to change and will spend their whole miserable existences inflicting harm onto others.

If it was a dog,we would euthanize it. A human being who behaves the same is not only dangerous, they cost society a fortune as well.

I've noticed that the (few, admittedly) young women I know who've had kids, ranging from 'woke' to 'tolerant', their acceptance of fags and trannies completely vanishes once they've had children. Especially if they've given birth without a C-Section or had medical complications, mentioning 'they have no fucking idea what it's like' unprompted. It's a very funny phenomenon once you spot it; I've successfully peaked a few older women by nudging them to think about their own experiences of sexism, pregnancy, raising kids, and they drop troons after that.
I don't deny that many women become more conservative once they've start a family, but I wasn't accepting of trannies years before I had children, in fact it put me off having children as I was so demoralised by the potential future they'd inherit. I tried to share my skepticism with one of my friends who was the first in our circle to have a baby - I told her that I was worried her daughter wouldn't have the same rights and safeguarding protections that we enjoyed when we were younger. My "friend" responded that if her daughter decided to transition she would accept it and that I was a transphobic bigot.
:story:
I lost virtually every female friend I had overnight, many just blocked my number without even having the decency to talk to me about my heresy first.

My disdain for Muslims, gays, and feminists definitely increased after having children though, but nothing can top my hatred for trannies. Not only do I consider them a threat to myself, my children, and free speech; I hate them for opening my eyes to Clown World. My ignorance really was bliss.

Still, it's not all bad...we managed to move to a very rural, very white area and we have a great Royal Mail service. I'm on first name terms with our postman who just opens our unlocked front door and puts any parcels on the side. He always gets a Christmas card.
Also looking forward to tomorrow's elections, I predict much wailing and gnashing of leftist teeth.
