A GROOMING gang victim alleges she was smuggled into Parliament to be offered for sex to a high profile politician before being forced to sleep with men after party conferences as a teen.
The shocking claims have emerged in an internal police report admitting “failings” in handling her case after she told them what had happened to her.
And Parliamentary authorities also said they did not deal properly with her allegations which she made to her local MP in 2023.
Amelia told The Sun on Sunday she was sexually exploited as a young teen in Oldham,
Greater Manchester, at the height of the town’s
grooming gangs scandal.
She says by the age 16, gang members groomed and forced her to have sex with politicians and police officers, among hundreds of other men in a sickening campaign of abuse.
In one allegation, which takes the grooming scandal right to the heart of government, Amelia says one of her regular abusers took her to London in around 2001-2002 and sneaked her into the Houses of
Parliament to offer sexual services to a high profile politician.
Amelia said: “The man told me to tell people I was his niece, so I just walked right in with him, there was no security or anything.
“It was clear to me that I was being taken to meet someone to see if they liked me and wanted sexual services from me.
“A very senior politician was introduced to me and shook my hand. I didn’t know who he was at the time, I didn’t have a clue about politics but I remember his name.
“The man then took me to a hotel where we had sex and I never saw him or the politician again
“But not long after that I’d be sent to posh hotels in Manchester where I’d be forced to go room to room and have sex with the men in them.
“I knew they were involved in politics, and there was always increased security in the hotel lobby.”
Amelia added: “It’s only as an adult that I’ve realised they were party conferences.
“I truly believe my meeting at Parliament was so that the politician could ‘approve’ of me for when his friends came up to Manchester and wanted a young girl.”
At age 16, Amelia alleges she was sent to a budget hotel in Manchester to have sex with a GMP officer who even showed her his ID badge, and on another occasion the same officer collected her from her mother’s house and took her to a local beauty spot to have sex in his car.
A second uniformed
police officer took her inside a police station in Manchester after finding her drunk and with a cut on her leg, aged 17, and had sex with her in one of the interview rooms.
She said: “My abusers knew where my family lived and would ring them if I didn’t turn up. I felt they were under threat.
“They gave us alcohol, cocaine, all kinds of drugs and manipulated us into feeling like it was normal.
“I was trafficked to all different races.”
Amelia finally managed to leave their clutches in her late teens.
But her abuse left her with serious emotional scars and she has experienced mental health problems, domestic violence, self-harm throughout her adult life as a direct result of her experiences.
Since then, as she’s got older, she’s been supported by anti-grooming campaigners such as ex-detective
Maggie Oliver and a support worker in Oldham and become emboldened to raise her allegations.
Amelia first reported the allegations to police in September 2022 after being referred by a social worker to Greater Manchester Police and the Home Office, through its National Referral Mechanism (NRM) programme.
The NRM told GMP there were “reasonable grounds” to believe Amelia was a “victim of modern slavery and trafficking”.
Last year, the NRM wrote to her to tell her case was amended to “conclusive grounds” to believe she was a victim of modern slavery last year.
However her case with GMP appears not to have moved forward.
Amelia told GMP how she had been taken to Parliament and “passed around” to politicians in hotels and abused by police officers.
But she says officers did not interview her properly, ignored her allegations about what happened in Parliament and the Manchester force, leaving her frustrated and in tears.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has now stated its conduct in the case was “not acceptable”.
In a report given to Amelia in January – seen by The Sun on Sunday – it says of the two officers who dealt with her allegations their handling of her was “unacceptable” and that “practice requiring improvement is required for both officers”.
The force admits they did not record a complaint Amelia made about her case being “covered up because it involved high profile politicians and policemen” – stating this was “not acceptable” and they have since changed procedures.
It adds that GMP “acknowledge the failings that have been noted in this report and apologise.”
However, her specific complaints around her reporting of sex with police officers were not upheld, with GMP saying they provided an “acceptable service”.
In the same report, GMP state that Amelia refused to give the identities of her abusers which made it impossible to continue the investigation – a claim Amelia strongly refutes – saying she did identify the perpetrators and even did a drive around with GMP officers to point out the locations of her abuse.
Amelia revealed she also shared her story with her local MP Jim McMahon in 2023, who contacted the Parliamentary Security department.
Shockingly, Amelia’s case was then mistakenly referred to the Parliamentary Liaison and Investigation Team (PLaIT), a police squad which protects MPs and investigates crimes against them.
Amelia received an apology saying it was a mistake, and her allegations were then reported to Parliament’s safeguarding lead, who simply told her to report it to police.
A House of Commons spokesperson told The Sun on Sunday they “recognised the frustration expressed by the individual and the seriousness of the allegations”.
When Amelia tried to obtain her social care records from being a teen, Oldham Council told her they had been destroyed. In response the council said it had “previously apologised to survivors for the serious failures that occurred in the past.”

Chris Philp who she met last May – but feels little has been done to help progress her case.
Mr McMahon, MP for Oldham, shared Amelia’s frustrations, telling The Sun on Sunday: “Amelia is a brave survivor and determined campaigner and I’ll do all I can to get her the answers and justice she deserves, and which has been frustratingly slow so far.
“The experience of survivors of grooming is harrowing, from the initial exploitation and abuse to how they are too often let down by the system there to protect them.”
The GMP investigation remains ongoing but Amelia is reluctant to work with the force again.
Amelia said: “I have lost any shred of trust I had in GMP, politicians or any of the authorities.
“They’ve gaslit me and made me feel like I’m going crazy.
“It is clear to me this is a cover up and how can I – or any other survivors – trust these people now?
“I feel the way I’ve been treated has even been worse than the abuse itself – it’s been hell on earth.
“I regret even coming forward in the first place as it’s caused me more harm than good.
A GMP spokesperson said they had apologised to Amelia and were “actively working” with her.
They added: “We’ve apologised to Amelia after our Professional Standards investigation recently concluded there has been unacceptable service in the way Amelia’s allegations have previously been handled.
“We’re committed to working closely with Amelia at her pace, and to continue providing her specialist support while pursuing all available lines of enquiry to identify perpetrators and bring them to long-awaited justice.
“This includes identifying any officers from that time, or anyone in positions of power. All lines of enquiry will be followed as we investigate without fear or favour, regardless of status.”
A Home Office spokesperson said: “These allegations are heinous. The sexual abuse of children is one of the most horrific crimes imaginable, and we will do everything in our power to stop these crimes from happening.
“We have set up the Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs, with full statutory powers, to uncover the truth and provide answers that survivors of these crimes have long campaigned for.
“And we are providing additional investment in a national police operation, which will equip police forces across the country to better identify and deal with these despicable criminals, and secure justice for victims and survivors.”
A House of Commons spokesperson: “We recognise the frustration expressed by the individual and the seriousness of the allegations.
“When concerns such as these are raised, the House Administration is required to direct to the relevant external body, in accordance with Parliament’s safeguarding policy – this is because the House of Commons has no statutory role in the investigation of historic safeguarding concerns.
“Care is taken not to interfere with or prejudice existing external processes, particularly given the seriousness of such cases.”
