A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If you have to "ask" you're probably doing it wrong anyway
I cannot remember the last time I had to fucking ask. Please Ma'am please may I have some more pussy :3 like the discord Oliver Twist. If you cannot tell without having to explicitly ask you're probably too autistic to get in that situation in the first place. Idk I think if you're heavily relying on sex for the emotional core of a relationship you're doing it wrong. I didn't get into a relationship because I want to have a less convenient wank, I did so because I love her and want to be with her. The most intimate shit is laying together in bed and doing nothing and just enjoying being together. Lazy Sunday type shit, just sitting or laying in bed watch whatever together.
If you're simply driving to work in an office, sitting down for 8 hours and driving back you realistically don't need more than 1400-1600 calories per day.
I always find it much harder to do that though. I find it so much easier to burn 500 calories than eat 500 less. Idk if it's just me but eating below my metabolic rate is much harder. Maybe it's just psychological but there's something in my brain that says 'you are eating less than your body needs to survive even if you did no exercise' and makes it incredibly hard to stick to any diet.

I believe they called this the "nordic model"; making it illegal to purchase, but not to sell.
This is straight up one of the dumbest concepts around, even ignoring the sex element if this was used in literally any other situation it'd be laughed out of the commons.

It'd also unironically make it LESS safe for the sex workers, as if the customer knows they're breaking the law already, they're more inclined to ensure that there's no witnesses.

Yeah there's good reason TERFs (aka actual feminists) utterly loathe the Nordic Model, it's the worst of both worlds; pushes it underground with the assorted criminality that entails, but also reduces risks and liabilities for perpetrators, and is just a massive enabler for human trafficking, the worst kind of half measure.
Funnily enough, many troons and leftie faggots also hate it, but for dumb (((sex work is real work))) reasons, one of those "still right twice a day" things I suppose.

This is a little off topic so apologies, but does anyone have any experience of getting decent strength melatonin in the UK please? My sleep has gone to shit the last few weeks and I'm currently doing 12 hour night shifts on about 4-5 broken hours kip.

I wear ear plugs and an eye mask and have a really good mattress and pillows (I splurged on a hypnos one last year) and have never struggled before. I've visibly aged and have more white hair sneaking in and I feel like shit. It's getting to me.
Yes. Biolabshop.

My old WL coach recommended the site to me, as he'd used it for years. I've ordered half a dozen batches from them in about 12 months. Fast despatch, quality product, not expensive.

I believe it comes from Poland or Lithuania, but they have stock in the UK too.

I only take 1mg per night and that does the job for me 95% of the time. Rest of the time it's 2mg. One week off every four months or so, and your tolerance goes back to 'virgin.'

Discovering that shit was like a magic bullet for me.

I took some nytol herbal yesterday morning and it worked great although I woke up with a banging headache. A real stinker of one. But, I'm feeling better for getting a good 7 hours yesterday. I'll for sure look into this though, so thank you.

I understand the jews are jumpy at the moment but this reaction seems OTT.
Poor sods are stuck on ultra mega tip-top high alert for absolutely everything and will be for a while, because the mythical Iranian terror network has yet to... actually do anything, they may or not be a more actual myth than live legends, but nobody wants to the guy who lets the next Manchester Arena bombing happen because he didn't feel like blue lighting it.

Can't get the police to respond a murder or rape, dozens swarm to a white man in a vest? Rab C Nesbitt best watch out.

Guessing it's someone with a weighted vest out exercising and they've gone "suicide bomber!"

(looks)

Yep, the park even has a gym section.

Makes sense. Doesn't the guy look like fat baz though?

'ate mi high calories
'ate mi fat
luv mi exercise, simple as.

A fat, white skin-head isn't the classic profile of jihadi who enjoys instantaneously disassembling in public.
The jews aren't usually that daft.

In a certain light his skin looks darker but to me it looks tanned or weathered rather than non-white. I suspect someone was overly highly strung, saw the weighted vest and rang up the police screaming, "someone's about to blow up a park full of Jewish children!"

Starmers done yet another 180 saying Trump can now use the UK's bases after saying he wasn't getting involved.
They'd been using our bases all month for "limited defensive purposes", and Iran basically suggested they might count this as us being involved. I think the big change is rather than just targeting "missile facilities in Iran which were involved in launching strikes at regional allies", now the US can also use our bases to "degrade the missile sites and capabilities being used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz".

Which is probably the worst of both worlds, because now Iran will probably view us as fully involved in the war, but this largely won't shift the needle on Hormuz, and Trump will keep shitting on us for not being proper military partners (although supposedly he's already won the war and doesn't need anyone's help). Given suggestions that the US may be looking at taking Kharg Island with boots on the ground, this potentially could be heating up rapidly very soon.
