A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I don’t agree. It’s not about the thing existing bit about how accepted it is.
Normalisation of certain things shifts the Overton window. Very violent porn being so widely available and mainstream changes how people see violence and sex. The Nathalie donnoley case for example where the jury was asked to buy the fact she liked sex so rough the guy basically tortured her to death and he got a sentence of a few months. No jury thirty years ago would have accepted that. And no defence lawyer would try it. Now it’s oh well yeah I’ve seen that on pornhub so it’s real. People do t always know the difference - they say they do but in their lizard brains, they don’t.
Of course porn will always exist - humans are visually aroused among other things and we’ve got penis graffiti amd mural porn from pompeii. You’ll never get rid of it and maybe you shouldn’t, but it also shouldn’t be widely accepted as normal, or at least the weirder and more hardcore stuff shouldn’t. If we could go back thirty years or so to the point it wasn’t on every device, that’d be better.
I still think ‘semen altered images’ is a weird hill to die on.
We've seen in real time as the government and judges wrote off the motivation of murders against women due to Andrew Tate, and I think everyone involved more or less knew the trial was a force with a sentence born more from a half-assed and disinterested prosecution and a money-strong defence. I think the coke, alcohol, and other drugs involved was probably more responsible for what happened and the "rough sex" was basically an ass-pull to avoid a murder charge. "Negligent Manslaughter" is nuts but that's what a competent defence can get you. The main piece of evidence that helped him a ton was witnesses saying she told them she liked "rough sex", which is absurdly vague and I wouldn't be surprised if her idea was more "50 Shades of Gray" and less "[Title redacted due to content being illegal outside of Germany]" or something. A very "light" depiction of the material in other words.

I do think there's a legitimate case where porn can result in such a thing. In psychology you have terms such as Paraphilia / Idee Fixe. If someone, somehow, obtains an intense sexual fixation/interest to the point of obsession, it can result in them basing their entire lives around it.

For Paraphilia: Intense sexual focus. For example, a fetishization of being dominated can lead to you seeking out more of the same but far more strongly. The Wachowskis (Directors) had a shared dominatrix. One theme of domination can be emasculation, which if that was the primary "kink", then the maximum realisation of emasculation is castration i.e. transitioning.

For Idee Fixe: Being told something and having it be constantly reinforced by yourself or another person can lead to believing something with unshakable certainty. It's possible, using the Wachowskis again, that after one transitioned the other had the thought planted in his head, "If he's trans am I trans too?" and that thought gradually reinforced itself until culminated in 2 directors who shared the same dominatrix becoming transgender.

There's also a thing called "Auto Eroticism", where someone's fantasies can dominate more and more of their lives to the potential end of self-delusion just to derive more and more from their fantasy.

The fix of this is to minimise exposure to such material that might embed these thoughts in people's heads, but the difficulty of that is the source for such thoughts can come anywhere. Fixations can be hard to dislodge, though being aware that such fixations can infect your mind can help to inoculate, but I digress.

Balance has to be achieved but nobody can decide on where that point is. There's also a lot of conversation in how we achieve said balance, how much do the non-perverts have to give up to minimise the potential harm of perverts?

I think it ultimately starts at parents and what how closely they keep an eye on what what materials they're accessing and being exposed to. When they're adults, it's all chance. Trying to control that chance is how we get Ninja Sword bans and the OSA.

The solution to minimise the harm of porn IMO is:
1) Educate boomers/gen-x/millenials/zoomers, ect on how to use adult website blockers for their devices/internet.
2) Closely monitor/control what content your child is accessing. If you want to be extra safe, don't allow them access to a web browser or be allowed to install apps to their device unless it's done so explicitly by you.
3) Make people more aware in general of the risks of social contagion/fixations/paraphilia. (This is arguably the hardest and least necessary to actively do, and it can be reduced to "thought crimes" as a rebuke, but so long as people know this shit can infect your brain then it should help people be more cautious)

this has even upset Labour because it risks making the Muslim issue of how they vote in our elections one that is forced to be acknowledged.
I think it's chiefly upset them because they laid all the groundwork for this only to see the votes go to someone else.

Labour needs to pivot left but not in the "progressive" islamoqueer sense of giving houses to foreign browns and forcing your kids to crossdress.

They need to be socially conservative and reject all that, while pursuing policies that genuinely help working British people. Spend money on the NHS and schools. Provide quality vocational training. Focus on giving British people the skills to do the jobs we currently import people to do. Reward work at every level with services people can be proud of.

That way they can out-reform Reform while positioning themselves on the left.
Recall Welshie saying that Reform was "socialist in structure". This is why it's vital that Reform don't get to hold the votes of the Right because they're not Right Wing and it's mainly the media and this weird Academia-led inversion that "nationalism = Right Wing" making people think Reform are the Right.

If it ends up between a choice between Big State Leftists and Big State Leftists, that's no choice at all. It's jut a question of whether you'd rather see Nigel Farage's face every day or Angela Raynor's.

This whole website is an altar to retards who only got like they are because of the abundance of porn, violent porn, and porn that pushes cultural taboos. Would KF exist without the online toaster fucker communities???
Perhaps. But that's not an argument for such things anymore than the existence of a Fire Brigade is an argument for burning to death...

Not that the Farms is exactly analogous to the fire brigade. We're more like the tossers who turn up with marshmallows on sticks. Still...

Filters don't work. As a kid we got round them and as an adult I'm sure my young family members do too.

Their friends will all use chat apps and they need to be on them to talk to them and to relative who live a bit away. Teenage boys will be boys..

People are aware of addictions. Porn addiction is a known problem but it's not taken as seriously as would be nice.

I can't comment on the court case because I don't know the details or the people involved. Considering we live in a country where it's basically legal to drug, rape and torture children.. I'm not really going to trust the court to do shit against any one who abuses women. It's always been a hard thing to get justice on, false accusations or real situations both blow up in people's faces in seemingly random ways. Women are as fucked up as men are and neither seem to have a very healthy relationship with sex. But how can any of us in the society we live in?

If it ends up between a choice between Big State Leftists and Big State Leftists, that's no choice at all. It's jut a question of whether you'd rather see Nigel Farage's face every day or Angela Raynor's.
The choice of democracy is chosen for you.

Turn up to a lot of house fires to have a wank do we? Seems a bit of an odd fetish. Never saw that on Eurotrash growing up..

The last words Warwick Davis ever hears before going into a life long coma he never wakes up from..
I'd tombstone the little freak through the wooden cover of a deep well and listen to his "EEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" taper off into nothing as he vanished into the depths of the earth.

Guys, the media is treating losing an election because a large portion of the population cares more about what is going on in Gaza than what is happening in this country is somehow normal rather than saying “millions must go.”

well I’d disagree on that, she haemorrhaged to death, and had broken eye sockets. It absolutely wasn’t a whoops with a choking error.
Gory details aside, I agree with wondering where the line should be drawn, and not knowing. It’d be nice to live in a world where didn’t have to explicitly ban stuff because 99% of people would think WTF and not want to do it anyway, but here we are in the time of toaster fuckers and ‘contains milk’ milk cartons

She haemorrhaged to death after he beat her for hours and shoved a spray bottle inside her.

If you can't eliminate the issue, you still minimise the potential harm. You could just make sure your kid doesn't have a phone or a device capable of accessing the internet whatsoever but that's not balanced.

When I was young there were no filters on my internet access. I like to think my kid would come out the other end of his teen years with nothing but some slightly controversial political opinions but you can't be certain...

I meant more on what resulted in him murdering her. I don't think he did what he did because of "rough sex" but I think being absolutely high off his head on numerous substances probably resulted in a situation we can only speculate on. Still, that'd still make him liable for 3rd degree murder at a minimum. I think the "rough sex" was a contrived counter-argument created from a few witnesses being able to put the words "I like rough sex" into her mouth to muddy the waters for the prosecution's case.

I'm don't even think I'm disagreeing with you I was more just positing why/how I think he got off. I put the blame less on pornography itself and more on the fact he had the money for a defence team that wouldn't offer him the easiest plea bargain from the prosecution. In normal circumstances he probably would've been convicted for 2nd degree murder, and offered a plea for 3rd degree.

I think I just wound up agreeing with your point regardless, I think I just had some niggles with the example. If you want to see the harm of pornography on society at large, you're on a website that documents a great many people who've ruined their lives as a consequence of porn exposure. There's also a theory that a lot of non-Western men's first exposure to Western women being through porn has consequently lead to a lot of their actions against women in the West, which isn't impossible given the psychology stuff I brought up in my post.

I'd need to do a deep dive into it, but I think the number of rapes in India has increased over the years, and I think there's a correlation between that and Indians gaining more access to the internet and thus pornography, but I'd need to get the relevant data to assert the argument. (Though it's easy to conclude that pornography has more caustic effects on non-whites than whites but I digress)

It's not racist to point out actual facts. You're not racist for practicing pattern observance or for noticing things. You're simply pointing out biological and natural realities.

I've found a huge level of peace has come from axing that word from my internal dialogue. I am not racist. I notice things. You should give it a go.

Racism is the whipping stick they use to stop us committing bad think.

I still think ‘semen altered images’ is a weird hill to die on.
I imagine starmer got sent an image of his smug cunty face getting spunk on it and he's been holding a grudge ever since.
There needs to be a guy with a flamethrower ready to light up any motherfucker parking in the Lidl parent-and-child spaces with no kid. I might actually write to Restore and suggest this.
Can you also suggest the same for people who park in disabled spaces when they aren't disabled so that people who can't walk get access to them a lot easier? I would suggest just using a shotgun on their legs instead tho
This whole website is an altar to retards who only got like they are because of the abundance of porn, violent porn, and porn that pushes cultural taboos. Would KF exist without the online toaster fucker communities???
Yes because there will always be idiots, degenerates and assholes to document, mock and laugh at. Porn isn't going to change that.
Filters don't work. As a kid we got round them and as an adult I'm sure my young family members do too.
Filters have gotten better compared to years ago but there is a better way and it's blocking everything and only allowing websites you allow your kid access too. Just have a streamlined, convenient way to do like an app in a phone for the normies to figure out.
Teenage boys will be boys..
Teenagers in general are just curious horny bastards due to puberty fucking with their hormones, We've all been there before. Either shoplifting wank mags or finding hot woman online to jerk it to. Nothing surprising there.

The problem is because they are impressionable curious horny bastards that some take porn as if it's how you are actually suppose to act towards people including porn that gets violent when it comes to choking the other and other shit.

You are going to have an extremely difficult case if you want to blame porn for brown people being rapey. Third worlders are just rapey in general. There's a long history of them raping and abusing women long before porn came along.

The advertisements we've seen inviting foreigners to invade aren't pornographic. They're women hugging or talking to brown men. Hollywood is probably the first explosure but porn isn't far off. We know Indians love porn. Especially interracial porn.
If you want to see the harm of pornography on society at large, you're on a website that documents a great many people who've ruined their lives as a consequence of porn exposure.
Porn has ruined some people's lives but it has arguably saved others if we're just using general social studies. For every dude into radical porn and ruining his life there's some loser who would hurt a woman stuck in his basement jacking it never interacting with them.

I don't meant to defend porn here. I'm not saying it's good or healthy. But to me porn is a lot like smoking. As long as you're not doing it in places it interacts with others and you're not into the really hard stuff, it's just what is. I've known some sweet as can be women who were into really nasty porn and it never left their bedroom. Real sweet hearts you would take home to Mum and she'd be instantly smitten by.. But those porn histories. Man, Labour couldn't ban it all even if they tried.

I don't hate to say it but I told you so.

The muzzies will vote in blocks for whichever party caves to them. The Greens gained the same amount that Labour lost. I'll bet my left testicle that the swing was caused by muzzies leaving labour and putting their vote on green.

The next GE will be this by-election, nationwide.

I agree it's not the be-all-end-all to a lot of problems. Things are ultimately too complicated to reduce them down to a single problem and even if you were to completely eradicate all traces of pornography from society it's hard to imagine you'll see every issue perceived to be cause by it immediately drop to 0.

This is more just a convo based along the premise of, "If it is harmful, what's the adequate response to deal with it?"

Personally, I think the UK's conditions are too muddied to make "remove porn" be an avenue to consider. It's like conducting an experiment with no control, or a non-sterile lab environment. So long as rapey foreigners are in play, there's no point in seeing how further limiting porn access to the wider public will affect numbers.

Do you realise how aligned you've become mentally with non-Brits that you'll doompost about the UK whereas people still living in the UK are generally more neutral/positive?

Don't forget that by-election has a LOT of muslims, and the greens only just barely scraped their way in.

The BBC is being unusually frank about it, in their own smarmy way: Green victory shows insurgent parties are here to stay

Not crowing about a green victory, but rather acknowledging that labour and tories are both done for, with the implication that the next parliament will be either fractured or be made up of the current "insurgent" parties. I think they're not sure what to make of it. A green victory, quite apart from being a national disaster, would be a threat to the BBC because it won't be able to pivot to supporting the extremists enough. A reform (or other other right-wing party) majority is also a threat to them for obvious reasons. They need to work out who to suck up to so they can survive, but they have no idea who it will be.

The results of this local election is not at all shocking but it is a massive culture shock to Reform and Labour particularly. The big thing for Reform right now is them coping over family/group voting, under estimating the ethnic and religious vote massively and Nigel raising a complaint to the electoral board. Reform needed this kick in the teeth and Nigel took this kick and asked for another, he and his party wont lean anything and we will see this more and more.

Anyways I'd keep an eye on Labour HQ and to see who's the first to do a flip off of the roof.
