A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

What I find funny about the Civil Service is how whenever you look at a departments list of staff you'll be overwhelmed with Pakis, niggers, highlighter girls, trannies, middle class income wives and middle class men in managerial positions.

They have diversity for almost every demographic... except working class white men.

Starmer set to release 'Mandelson files'. It appears he is rattled, not by the noncery, but by Mandelson colluding to remove ol Gordon.
 
For perhaps the first time ever, PMQs led to the disclosure of new and important information - Starmer admitted (at the third time of asking) that when he offered Mandelson the job, he knew that Mandelson had maintained a personal relationship with Epstein after his conviction. He did not admit this when he sacked Mandelson last year.

I’d love to know what his involvement was in brnging axel rudakubana’s family over here.

Being friends with a nonce has never been a problem in British politics. If it was all of them would be sacked for knowing each other. As horrific as it is people need to accept that British politicians are nonce friendly, they do abuse children themselves or hang around with people who do and protect them. They are pro-pedo and will destroy your life if you try to get justice for the kiddies. Like Jimmy, they're national treasures and too culturally important to let a little thing like some raped children get in the way.

Me too, there's absolutely something there. Why else have they gone to such lengths to protect his parents? And the talk of the civil case against them for raising a rape ape has gone very quiet.

Channel 4. Some random African news channel is saying the victim was a student
An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 20s was stabbed Tuesday evening in Leicester City Centre, near De Montfort University. Police were called just after 5pm after reports of an altercation in the street, and the man was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later. Detectives thanked members of the public who rushed to help the victim before emergency services arrived and they've appealed to anyone with information to contact them.

Ed Davey is asking about Mandelsons connections to Epstein and therefore to Putin (crackhead fucking logic but whatever Ed), Kemi is at his throat this PMQs over whether he knew about the Epstein friendship . Labour MPs are about to rebel over Starmers 'national security' amendments and his involvement in the Intelligence Council that is pouring over the Mandelson files right now.

I don't think it's the nonce thing, rather this sharing of government information with epstein and the emerging picture of extremely poor judgement in appointing him ambassador, and now appearing to be trying to cover it up with bullshit about national security.
