A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Collapse? That would be fantastic! One of the things that I hate the most about the terminally online is how they keep trying to apply American politics and "culture" over here. And with no more slop to placate the masses, something might actually happen for once...
While I agree the cultural effect could be great. Think of how many UK retailers depend on US imports. Every Cinema is fucked. Every comic shop. Game shops. If you're not selling fruit and veg picked 5 minutes down the road you depend on American culture. Go to a super market tomorrow and see how American all the toys are, all the clothes are, all the music is, all the films are. It's just America top to bottom.

Via the Financial Times - companies leaving the UK because of inheritance tax.
I've already said it probably but I do not fucking blame them in the slightest. There are few things that I despise more than inheritance tax. I can understand every other type of tax, they make sense. I pay council tax so that the council can provide services to me, I pay road tax to pay for the road's maintenance, I pay alcohol or fag tax to lessen some of the strain those things put on the nhs, and I pay general income tax to pay for all of the general services I would use from the nhs to the police and all that shit. But why the fuck do I pay inheritance tax? I get absolutely no benefit from it, not even remotely. I have not gained money or anything like that and the act of inheritance does not burden any other service. There is no reason to pay inheritance tax other than the government are greedy faggots. Please tell me why the money that my family earned (and paid income tax on) and then put in a bank account (of which the interest got taxed if above a certain amount) and then lost value due to inflation, then they died and I have to fucking cut off my leg to pay the lawyers because somehow they are greedier than the politicians are, once they do their shit and charge me £2000 per hour I finally get the money and the government wants to just take 50% of it for no fucking reason in tax, then the few little shillings I have left I have to spend on more council tax that just goes into someone's back pocket and once I get my thruppence for myself I have to pay more fucking tax to buy anything with it and if I don't do anything with it then fuck you you still need to pay tax because your bank interest is too high. What the fuck is the point. No you don't understand we need to tax the money that has been taxed and taxed again and then when you finally get it you have to pay more fucking tax on it unless you do nothing with it then you have to pay another fucking tax on it. I hate the government holy fuck. There's a lot of crimes that I can understand why you'd do them, there's only a few that I would say are completely excusable other than the uk's censorship/self defence faggotry and tax dodging inheritance tax is at the top of that list.
What are your thoughts on this scandal Ant and Dec have founds themselves in?
I think if you get pissed off at a comedian then you are mentally functioning on the level of an indian. If you kill yourself because of a comedy show advert then fucking good you have helped the gene pool. Suicidal people don't kill themselves because they saw an advert and pretending that they do is much more offensive and demeaning than the advert itself. And most of the people complaining are middle aged white women so.
Women friends sent him screenshots of a discussion around him, where anonymous users refer to him as a “narcissist”, a “creep” and even someone with a “history of DV” (domestic violence) under a post asking if anyone else had previously matched with him on the Tinder app.
This happens all the time, those 'are we dating the same guy' groups are full of liars and reddit psychologists. You'd be better off getting dating advice from chatgpt.

Because these people don't actually look into the parasites that they praise. They only consume the optics that they spout. You can have someone who has been record doing shit that would get them scrutiny and they would ignore or justify it because their idol said the right words that they can cum too.

It's how George Galloway somehow keeps getting into positions he has no right to be in.
Galloway just swallows muzzie cock and will go to stand for any seat with a large mud population, where he just says 'Palestine' over and over until he wins.

There are few things that I despise more than inheritance tax
Even sweden has no inheritance tax.
The English government used it to break the power of the minor aristocracy around the time of the Great War. In 1910 they passed ‘the people’s budget’ which steeply increased taxes and death duties, and it resulted in about 800k larger estates being broken up.
In the years following, during WW1, a huge number of aristocratic heirs were killed because they were still taught to lead from the front and so the junior officer class ran straight into machine gun fire. So a triple whammy of losing heirs and being taxed highly and the economic effects of the war jus stripped the power of that entire class of people.
And of course the rest of the country didn’t benefit from it - 6% of British men died in the war, and then God knows how many in ww2 and the money raised by the taxes went to war and death rather than making life better for everyone.
Tl:dr, inheritance tax drains wealth and only ever entrenches existing power structures

What a funny little mask off moment, showing the utter contempt that he has for the people he's disenfranchising. The article also doesn't point out that actually labours massive restructuring which is the supposed impetus for these cancelled elections, is based around a pathetically weak mandate. I just want them all to fucking die.
Don't worry, Starmer will have an early GE any moment now...
So Trump has included the UK in his newly announced 10% tariffs on a range of countries in Europe over Greenland.
Fuck Trump. His second term is worse than sleepy joe and any and all reason to distance ourselves from those fucking retards is a net positive.
There's a lot of ways the Us can fuck the UK
You've got it backwards. There's a reason the us pushes their globohomo propaganda and consumerism outside of its own nation and it's because it needs to consumerism to keep their country afloat. Before ww2, where the yanks stole the Empires trade routes, they were heading for a collapse that would make them a third world country.

If China turned off the chinkesium factory tomorrow, america would be south africa by monday.
Hell, if China blockaded the sea and stopped the chips flowing to prop up the AI bubble, america would be bankrupt before their warships reached china.
I doubt there would be any. Nobody has any real leverage.
Europe has more leverage than it lets on and it is part of the european power-play. Each country/super power/super alliance sees various tactics as strengths and weaknesses. america will sing and dance about how big and powerful they are for expansionist reasons, china for will do the same for defensive reasons and the eu sits quietly, strategically and waits.
If the eu told america to pack their shit and get out, the russians wouldn't roll in with tanks and warplanes, they would offer gas, oil and trade.

Remember, every piece of information you receive from the west goes through 5 media companies, which own everything, who are tied at the hip to the american government. Everything you see is lies and propaganda to make america look better.

I do not think he will last til May,
The 15th of March is traditional. That's the Ides of March for those less au fait with such references.

Regards inheritance tax, this got me curious. I'm going by Grok but it tells me of the 195 official countries, only 44 have some form of inheritance tax. So the UK is the considerable minority in having one. The UK is also in the top five by the amount of it. Some of the countries that do have inheritance tax almost barely qualify when you compare it to the UK, being more like 2% (though a small handful like France are higher than the UK).

It is very hard to change your station in life in a single generation. Typically it takes three generations for a family to do so. Inheritance tax, especially high rates of it like the UK, are a major barrier to this. Deliberately so, imo, but they're always sold as a measure to help the poor by preventing entrenched elites hoarding the wealth. The actual effect seems to be the opposite.

The rich faggots don't need to inherit money to be rich, they inherit their place and power in society. When you earn 200k a year by being a nepo baby you don't need an inheritance because that money is small in comparison. Normal people don't have that. They have to work for money. Maybe your family got 'lucky' with a decent position or just in general grew up in a time where money was worth more. Now that is gone. The the ways they earnt their money and the society that they earnt it in are gone, with high inheritance taxes so is the money itself.

I've already said that I think it's a great idea, you don't have to keep selling it to me!

It's not like we can't do film, television, video games, music, etc. we are (or, perhaps, were) quite good at it, it's just easier and cheaper to import American slop (and we don't have nearly enough Jew power are too small of a country to really compete with Hollywood). The only downside that I can see is that it might take a while to revive the industries, but I think we would be better off in the long run.

We didn't need to "compete with Hollywood". Look at how many classics were made in the UK. Most major from the peak of cinema were filmed or had major UK assistance in production. We were the best practical effects makers in the world.

The cheat code is not being afraid to leave your country and set up elsewhere.
I went from bugger all chance of ever being able to own property in the UK, to a homeowner in Europe, a couple of nice sportscars and 6 figures in savings. You sacrifice quite a bit in terms of comfort, but I know, right now, that my kids will have a much better start in life than I did (council estate, fuck all money, only person in my family to go to uni) and I don't have to worry about which bill to pay.

The guy who spends all day on Kiwi farms trying to bully an autistic welsh teenager is a millionaire? Major doubts there. Six figures, multiple sports cars, owns a mansion and has a model for a white. But has to bully Reform's chief sperg? Not fucking likely.

Thoughts re: Nigel

I can appreciate the despondency some might feel about Reform UK with Zahawi and Jenrick, but this has not translated into any downward trajection in terms of voting patterns. Yes, one criticism levied is that the party is becoming a retirement home for ex-Tories, but notice that the media gave next to no coverage of a Green Party councilor joining Reform UK and that many more Labour councilors are thinking of joining Reform UK.

A bit like with Wrexham Football Club, we've had to bring in people with experience and this more than anything else is why they are being brought in - they have experience of office and can at least get things done. I'm not blind to the criticism but I'm also pragmatic enough to say 'overall, this is something I can live with' and perhaps it shows that Reform UK have by default swallowed up the Conservative centre ground with Badenoch trying to 'out Labour' the Labour Party and failing.

Locally, my Reform PPC is an ex-Labour member and he has given up on the party. A few constituencies over, the Reform PPC used to be a Liberal Democrats member until he left because of the bickering over Brexit and the 'wholly childish manner in which the party is run from top to bottom by whiny and entitled cretins.' Though this PPC was a remainer, he changed his mind and now supports leave and wants the best for Wales and the UK as a whole.

At one point, none of us were Reform UK members - we were Socialists, Conservative, Liberals, Greens or Nationalists (or other). As somebody who was born in a Pit Estate, I grew up a Socialist and retained those values - Labour left me (though I was interested in environmentalism as a kid) and therefore I drifted over to UKIP, then Brexit and now Reform UK. I feel welcome in Reform UK and if people wish to join then the door has to be open - that doesn't mean that we are blind to insurgency and we have to ensure that the promises made are promises kept. If Reform UK, UKIP etc. had said no to me and others joining them, then it would have been less votes for them - votes are what will or won't get the party elected, with May being important in Wales with the Senedd Election.

Let's take this site as an example - we've joined it from wherever we are because all of us believe that the world is fucking mad and we need to vent with like-minded people. That's a bit like Reform UK and one of the reasons they're doing so well. If Kiwi Farms stood as a party, then yes I'd back them.

It's not been a bad week, a strange one yes but also the 'John Smith' from the Cameo has been reported to the Police and I believe that one of Ian Watkins victims has written to the Metro saying that she is more disgusted with them 'goading' this person on than she is with Nigel Farage saying what he did. Therefore, this 'John Smith' will soon be enjoying a few months behind bars and Nigel will have kept £90 from him - talk about screwing yourself over. I hope that she takes legal action against both him and Metro as well, as that 'joke' wasn't funny at all.

Anyway, I'm sure that Nigel's enjoying his weekend more so than Starmer who looks ever increasingly like a man who wants the earth to open up and swallow him whole.

Edit: I must be psychic as my claim that Miriam Cates would join Reform UK looks like it's coming true... https://www.gbnews.com/politics/miriam-cates-refuses-to-rule-out-reform-uk

Whilst it's more bad news for Labour:

I mean if I was a millionaire I'd spend my day bullying teens online too. Don't be jealous because he's rich and you're not bro. Not a good look.

I was trying to be nice to Welshy and hoped he would come to his senses but he's going full retard. "I feel welcome here" is why he's defending it and that's why he won't ever see the light. It's the same reason people become furries, troons and other degenerate things. They want to feel welcome, they find a place that makes them feel part of a community and nothing can turn them away from it. If you leave the thread for 2 days, come back and write an essay after being bullied for essay writing to justify supporting Reform you're not going to learn.

From golden boy to lolcow the thread will bully and laugh when he announces his blocks. It's sad to lose someone you thought was a good chap to a cult. But they can only save themselves.

You two seem to be friends with how often you post together. Either way nice story but very unlikely to be true. Go bully Nigel's number one fan some more.

How am I his friend? Take your meds man. I don't bully anyone. Welshy is entitled to love Reform. I'm just saying, if I had more money than sense, I'd bully people online too. You gotta be really bored as a millionaire.

Traitors to the country talking about banning protests near asylum hotels.

First Minister John Swinney has said he will consider introducing buffer zones around hotels housing asylum seekers in Scotland.
It comes after a protest outside a hotel in Perth at the weekend and follows similar demonstrations across the UK last summer.
In 2024, the Scottish government introduced a similar law which banned anti-abortion protesters from gathering within 200m (656ft) of clinics where the procedure is carried out.
But the Scottish Conservatives said buffer zones outside asylum hotels could infringe on freedom of speech and increase community tensions.

In August, about 150 people attended a protest against housing asylum seekers in hotels in Perth
Swinney described protests outside one of the asylum hotels in Perth last weekend as "a really ugly set of events".
"That's in my own constituency, and I have heard reports about all that was experienced," he said.
He added: "People have a legitimate right of protest but when that protest is threatening to others and causes distress that is unacceptable.
"So a suggestion has been made that we look at buffer zones, a suggestion made by my parliamentary colleague Pete Wishart.
"We will explore that because I think there are arguments in favour of that to make sure that the right of protest is assured but, also, that the safety of other individuals is assured into the bargain."

https://archive.ph/o/2a4Qi/https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/czxyj5w5jn0o
Police Scotland said the planned protest in Perth on Saturday 10 January had a "proportionate policing plan" in place "to ensure public safety and minimise disruption".
"There were no arrests and inquiries are ongoing," a spokesperson added.
Murdo Fraser, Scottish Conservative MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, said that although people had "every right to protest peacefully", no-one should feel "intimidated".
"There are real concerns locally about asylum hotels and it's wrong to pretend otherwise," he said.
"But bringing in buffer zones or new protest laws is a huge step. It wouldn't just affect this issue - it could hit free speech and increase community tensions.
"The priority should be backing the police and working with the community to keep order, not rushing into controversial legal changes that could take years to come into force."
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said the UK government's immigration policies were a "total failure" after pointing to protests outside a hotel in Epping - where an asylum seeker had been housed who was later jailed for sexual offences.
Speaking at a press conference in Glenrothes, Fife, he said: "Certainly when it comes to undocumented young males, they shouldn't be free to roam the streets.
"You can see from Epping onwards, there's just too many individual acts of behaviour that cause outrage and offence within the communities.
"And neither do I support opposition to this turning violent in any way at all.
"So if there has to be a buffer zone, there has to be a buffer zone. But frankly, I think we are asking the wrong question."

Last summer saw a wave of anti-immigration protests held outside asylum hotels across the UK.
The demonstrations began at The Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex, in July after the arrest of a man living there who was later jailed for sexual offences.
Several hundred people - and on one occasion 2,000 according to Essex Police - gathered near the Bell to protest.
Other hotels across the UK were also targeted.
Scotland has seen smaller protests outside asylum hotels in Perth, Aberdeenshire and Falkirk.
At a demonstration outside a former hotel in Falkirk, one person performed a Nazi salute while another carried a banner that said "Kill 'Em All, Let God Sort 'Em Out".
Local groups also demonstrated by flying Union Jack and Saltire flags, mimicking the flying of St George's flags and Union Jacks on England's streets.
The UK government pledged to overhaul the asylum process and tackle illegal immigration, with new plans unveiled by the home secretary in November.
Under the proposals, most asylum seekers will have to wait 20 years to apply to settle permanently, with deportations to be sped up when claims are rejected.
Asylum seekers will also have their refugee status reviewed every two-and-a-half years rather than five, and could be deported if their home country is at any time deemed safe.

Kiwi Farms standing up a political party would immediately lead to an /r/antiwork moderator style interview
It would be hilarious - the meltdowns from Redditors would be epic.

I suppose that if Plaid and the SNP could legally field candidates in English constituencies, why not Kiwi Farms one day? Keep Nigel on his toes and all that jazz.

How am I his friend? Take your meds man. I don't bully anyone. Welshy is entitled to love Reform. I'm just saying, if I had more money than sense, I'd bully people online too. You gotta be really bored as a millionaire.
Double post (I know) but if I was a millionaire I'd buy this lot out and help them survive:

A good ground, potential to get young players in on loan (they used to get kids from Spurs and West Ham in on youth experience) and they could be in the Isthmian North/Premier in a few years with the right sort of owner.

Nah it'd be more of a Carl style one. They'd bring up some old posts like 'hmm in the deathfats board you said that chantelle had fat tits and you'd give them a right good sucking, what did you mean by this misogynistic threat and what do have to say for yourself' and the person being interviewed would just go off about the liz trussy with some racial slurs thrown in for good fun.
