A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

One in five people living in the uk was born abroad

Staggering quote:
lays bare how there was greater population growth and churn between 2021 and 2024 than previously thought after the ONS revised its statistics this week, with a net inflow of 2.9million non-British arrivals over this period.

When this was added to the existing non-British population, the number surged to 13.6million (19.6 per cent).

It means that one in every 25 people in the UK today has arrived in the last four years.
The great replacement isn't a real thing chud, stop looking so much into it chud.

In all seriousness I can fully believe that after a quick walk around the British high-street and you quickly notice you are one of, if not the only white person there.

Currently posting from an all-inclusive resort in Turkey. Coming from London, it's by far the whitest place I've been recently. The only downside is that I have to share the hotel with a bunch of stuck up Germans (are they all autists?) and obnoxious Russians, since this is probably one of, like, three countries they can holiday in right now.

The upside is as much Tuborg as I can drink, and my weight in doner to eat every day. Enjoy scraping the ice off your windscreen suckerrrrrz.

Sigh. It's going to be returning to earth with a bump when this budget finally drops.

These are official figures that have been revised, added to the revised figures of how many Britains are leaving that I posted last week and it's plain to see that the government, regardless of party, has no idea how many people are in our country.

I'll bet pounds to pennies that that the 1:25 ratio is closer to 1:20 and the ratio of British white to British non-white is probably 1:4.

Curiously, they never say how they calculate 'white'. I do wonder if they throw Slavic into that mix, which waters down British White even further.

The turnaround has been insane, Labour supporters really are niggercattle who will follow whatever red party says. 6 months ago, suggestions like these would see you monitored by PREVENT and yet now the policies are harsher than what some people in this very thread want and the Labour support are going "I always knew that hanging them was a good idea".

Very surprised Farage hasn't lead with "What mandate do you have to carry out these policies when you were voted in as the good guys AGAINST these extreme policies?"

I always wonder the how, if the proper people win and they do not cuck out, what happens then?

If the USA is having issues deporting them then I can't imagine what the UK can do about them.

Every time I've seen cops in the UK, only 1 out of every 5 look like they could put up a fight.

There is no "the proper people win". There is "the public can currently apply pressure" and "the public cannot currently apply pressure". Look at Labour - currently implementing (some) anti-migrant policies. Labour! Because they feel under pressure. Conversely if "your" party (for any value of "your") were in, they would not do what you want if there was no pressure. The reason is because the elites have a whole toolset of carrots and sticks and distraction abilities to deploy for whoever is in power and if that's the only pressure on the politicians it's what they will overwhelmingly act in accordance with.

It's why I am very distrustful of the way Farage has been busily purging Reform of any dissenting / non-loyalist voices. If no rivals can arise from within the party, then one of the chief levers by which public pressure works, is gone.

Even if he did, the response from Labour would be 'MUH WUSSIA!'

There’s also what happens after complete societal breakdown.
But you’re right. And still they are so isolated from any real consequences of their policies. The single biggest change would be creating a much closer feedback loop between what the people want and the politicians.
When the people fear the government there is tyranny. When the government fear the people there is liberty.
Being a bit worried the gravy train temporarily slows down before you get a lucrative consulting job for Tony Blair’s consortium of demons is not any form of consequences.

The Department of Education (unarchived video) is currently being slammed on twitter for a video posted Oct 1st promoting the new breakfast clubs for giving '30 mins away from your kids' when you forget to feed them, rather than promoting say, a filling breakfast or something. Gordon bennett!
I find it insane how people on twitter find the most asinine reasons to whip themselves into an angry frenzy. You'd think they're getting off to it or at least getting paid, considering how much energy they put into finding any little reason to get mad. God forbid a parent have some time to themselves in the morning before work. I love my children, and I eat breakfast with them most mornings, unless I have to go into work early, but damn if I wouldn't love to have a morning or two to myself a week.

I would love to see Farage say something like this just to see Kier Starmer get dunked on just that little bit more, but these policies are likely to cause more internal strife within the Labour party, as the open borders globohomo types, Muslims, and Corbynites of the party take a stand against it. As the old saying goes, never interrupt your enemy when they're making a mistake.

Assault victim is convicted of a hate crime after she branded 'attacker' a 'faggot' in text messages telling a friend how she'd been beaten up

faggot-1.jpg faggot-2.jpg

Care home worker Elizabeth Kinney, 34, was said to have sent a 'barrage' of messages to a former friend during which she described being attacked by a male mutual acquaintance.

During the messaging the single mother-of-four even sent pictures of her injuries from the assault, which resulted in her being admitted to hospital.

But Kinney, an aspiring nurse, was reported to police over the use of the word 'faggot' to describe the unnamed man and later charged with malicious communications offences.

At Sefton magistrates court Kinney, from Tranmere, pleaded guilty to causing to be sent by public communication network an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing messages.

She insisted her words were a 'thoughtless rant' and that she was not attacking anyone's sexuality.

But JPs said her remark was 'homophobic' and gave her an 'uplifted' sentence of a 12 month community order.

She was also ordered to undertake 72 hours of unpaid work and 10 rehabilitation activity days and pay £364 in costs and surcharge.

'The Crown place this offence in the highest category of its type due to the effect related to sexual orientation and the greater harm because it had moderate impact.'

I’ve been forced to watch Emmerdale and now Corrie and it seems like everyone is some form of faggot in them.
TV soaps are just capeshit for Iceland mums. 2 hours of brainrot every fucking night that is packed to the brim with insane filler and government push factors. Like a bizarre Big Brother type machine to let everyone go that immigration is great because everyone on Emmerdale Farm is a nigger and yes lots of them commit crime but they're good honest people and sometimes you should just forgive someone for killing your brother even though they didn't go to prison for it.

But the funny thing is how they'll do a "public concern" type thing YEARS out of the public timeframe. They did like a Sophie Lancaster story something like 15 years after she fucking died for fucks sake. They did that bizarro Alfie brain death thing a few years out. Wouldn't surprise me if they're doing a 'Reform bad' type storyline at the moment, considering how out of touch the writers are.

In fact that's another thing. TV writers are a lot like school teachers. They go straight from school back to school (or work in the case of writers) and never have ANY time to grasp how the world around them looks, ESPECIALLY THE CELEBRITY NEPOBABY WRITERS. Like they're forever locked into how the world was back when they were 17 politics wise, economics wise, job wise etc. By the time they're ready to feed their information to the viewer/next generation of students the world has moved on significantly and all they're doing is feeding bad information. I can't imagine how bad the writers/school teachers of 2030 are going to look like considering they're the ones who have grown up completely indoctrinated in DEI, anti-transphobia shit and how immigration makes you all warm and fuzzy inside.

I, for one, support Your Party.

Entertaining as it is, I don't want them to implode just yet.

In fact, we need as much left wing parties as possible. And as radical as possible.

I want Labour vs. Greens vs. Your Party vs. Muslims all ready and strong for the election. In different parties.

Hang on there, Jerry! Stay strong!

Speaking of brain rot, more problems for Your Party as a second MP quits:

Per the Independent that nasty hate filled bigot said this
In them, he said: “White or brown men shouldn’t be telling or forcing biological women to give up their rights and private spaces to other biological men, black, white, brown or trans. What about the biological women’s rights? They have rights which I will always fight to protect. I also believe in the human rights of all trans and LGBTQ+ people but not by taking away the hard-won rights of women.”
What a monster.

Edit - how did I not find this shit hole sooner

Dewsbury and Batley independent MP Iqbal Mohamed has followed Blackburn colleague Adnan Hussain in resigning from the new Your Party and, like Hussain, has done so with a blast at his treatment during his time with the Corbyn/Sultana outfit, claiming that he was subject to “many false allegations and smears… reported as fact without evidence”.

Iqbal Mohamed: off

His full resignation statement insists that he and his colleagues “have acted professionally, patiently and in good faith” at all times during his period with Your Party – the launch period of the new party that has been marked by rows, divisions, and chaos:

Over the past few months at the invitation of organisers, I have helped steward the launch of Your Party alongside Parliamentary colleagues Adnan Hussain (who voluntarily left Your Party on 14 Nov 2025), Ayoub Khan, Jeremy Corbyn, Shockat Adam and Zarah Sultana (who voluntarily left the Independent Alliance and the Your Party stewarding group on 18 Sept 2025).

After careful consideration, I have decided to leave Your Party and continue serving as I was elected as an Independent Member of Parliament for Dewsbury & Batley.

The many false allegations and smears made against me and others, and reported as fact without evidence, have been surprising and disappointing.

However, I am confident that my colleagues and I have acted professionally, patiently, and in good faith throughout.

I thank everyone who has dedicated time, energy, and commitment to building and supporting Your Party, and wish them success in their future endeavours. British politics needs a genuine, inclusive force for positive change, and I hope Your Party fulfils that role.

I will continue working with my colleagues in the Independent Alliance, which has proven highly effective in advocating for the common good in Parliament over the past eighteen months. I am grateful for the sincerity, unity and trust that has defined our work, and look forward to continuing our shared commitment to peace, justice, equality, and truth.
However, not every allegation made against Iqbal Mohamed has been false. He told the Canary that he “fully” supports April’s Supreme Court ruling on gender that has horrified trans and human rights activists and set back the rights of trans people by decades. He also claimed as a cis man that this is not a “transphobic” view:

I fully support the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of sex being defined as biological male and biological female.

I fully support the rights of biological women to safe protected spaces from biological men. I also support the human rights of trans and all LGBTQ+ people.

None of the above views are transphobic. It would be misogynistic for anyone to advocate for biological women’s rights to safe and private spaces to be shared with biological males.

The EHRC trans code

The Supreme Court ruling has led directly to the appalling Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) guidance on single-sex spaces that means that any woman, trans or not, whom attendants or security consider to look a bit ‘too’ masculine can be excluded from both women’s and men’s toilets by “proportionate means”, whatever that vague phrase is considered to mean.

This guidance has been presented, both by the EHRC and by the media, as if only trans women could possibly fall foul of it and as if that would make it acceptable. As our trans Canary colleague Alex/Rose Cocker has pointed out today:

The EHRC and its transphobic stenographers in the BBC and the Times would like you to believe that this code will only impact trans people. This is a lie, and a deliberate one at that. Transphobes like to believe that they can tell who is trans just by looking at them, because they’ve convinced themselves that all trans women look like men in dresses, and all trans men look like tomboys.

This is false. If it wasn’t, having sex without disclosing that you’re trans wouldn’t be a crime. If trans people always looked like their assigned sex, the EHRC wouldn’t have to suggest that trans men could be banned from men’s and women’s toilets. Likewise, trans advocacy and education group TransActual UK reported that:

Our research has uncovered many stories of cis people, especially gender non-conforming women, being humiliated and excluded by staff or vigilante gender police when using the appropriate facilities and shown that this has already increased since the publication of the EHRC’s draft guidance.
Trans people already face grotesque discrimination that has needed decades of work and courage to unpick to reach the already deeply-flawed situation that prevailed before the Supreme Court ruling and those gains were wiped out with the stroke of a judge’s pen to please anti-trans bigots who dress their prejudice up as ‘women’s rights’. Few of them will mourn the departure of two MPs who oppose their efforts, even if those leaving give lip service to the rights stripped by the court.

Enough, now, in Your Party

Your Party co-founder Jeremy Corbyn said in April that he is “really saddened by the level of vitriol and hatred being directed toward the trans community. We are losing our common humanity.” Zarah Sultana went much further, saying that there is no room for transphobia on the left or in Your Party and that an “ironclad commitment to trans rights is non-negotiable” for any socialist party.

The party needs to decide whose position it is taking and whether trans rights really are human rights that it will fight for as hard as those of any other minoritised person or community. If it does, then it must stop ignoring the rampant transphobia that exists in its ranks – and make sure that Your Party is not a place for anyone with those views.
