A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The most cowardly thing about the Maccabi Tel Avis situation is no one is saying why those fans are in danger and from who.

Even the right leaning media is quiet on this, like it’s fucking Villa fans they need to worry about.

It weird how they’re not even pretending to dance around it but are outright refusing to say who the problem is.

We all know it’s Mohammed enthusiasts and their lefty enablers but the reluctance to name them is as frightening as the shithousery from the police and the establishment.

As a wise cuck once said, their silence means something.

Yeah but is the media ever going to admit any of that (even if it could/wanted to)? What they want you to think is it will be some Nazi, football hooligan Gammons who will be hunting them down and not members of the desert pedo cult. Even when GB news talked about it they went really light on the topic when they should have just been saying it as it is.

You've already got mudslimes in that area calling for an Amsterdam style "Jew hunt" but the media doesn't want to say squat about it for the most part and it is simply down to the fact that they are both scared of Muslims and that now a lot of Muslims are in high up places and are protecting them.

There has to be s very serious talk in the UK on when ever or not we want these Muslims here and how they are not compatible but clearly a lot of people don't want to hear or say it.

People want to say it. They know it as they're thinking it.

They're whispering it to each other, hoping nobody overhears it. However when Muslims and Pakis are raping and murdering young girls and women,when fucking niggers from Somalia are dancing with glee over killing us, and The State automatically sides with the rapists and murderers (and in the case of South Yorkshire,the police then pass round rape victims to rape themselves) can you honestly blame people for being too scared to say the quiet bit out loud?

The whole of The British State is on the side of rapists, pedophiles and murderers, non white people who were not born here and have no place here, and is categorically against people who are victims and their families and is hell bent on silencing anyone who dares to speak up.

EXACTLY. As was the plan, stated back in something like 2012 by whatever Yank think tank (Rand?) makes US foreign policy. Europe is also expected to keep Russia busy, while the Yanks destroy Iran, take Venezuela’s oil, then kick off WWIII against China. Why? Who knows? The Yanks were the only country to have come out of WWII with a profit, and goddamn if they haven’t freely stated their belief that they deserve primacy globally ever since.

But of course, that’s not dictatorial or aggressive. They’re promoting democracy (apparently). The U.K. just has to cheer from the sidelines and do as it’s fucking told - be an aircraft carrier and buy gas, oil, insurance and healthcare, or else.

Can you imagine any of our political parties putting the UK before the US? What a joy that would be to see. Zero hope of it ever happening though.

Lots of troons. I know troons and pooners are hardly renowned for their abundance of self-awareness, but the only redeeming feature I can find in Islam is it's huge lack of tolerance against faggots and gender specials.

I can't really say it was like turkeys campaigning for Christmas because turkeys at last have some use and a place in society.

Burqa ban bill approved by Portugal’s parliament seen as targeting Muslim women
Portugal’s parliament has approved a bill banning face veils worn for “gender or religious” reasons in public, in a move seen as targeting Muslim women who wear face coverings.

The measure was proposed by the far-right Chega party and would prohibit coverings such as burqas (a full-body garment that covers a woman from head to foot) and niqabs (the full-face Islamic veil with space around the eyes) from being worn in most public places. Face veils would still be allowed in airplanes, diplomatic premises and places of worship.


The bill stipulates fines for those wearing face veils in public ranging between 200 euros and 4,000 euros (£175 and £3,475).

President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa still has to approve the bill. He could veto it or send it to the constitutional court for review.

If signed into law, Portugal would join a number of European countries such as Austria, France, Belgium and the Netherlands who have full or partial bans on face and head coverings.

Not many women in Portugal wear such coverings, but the issue of Islamic veils has generated controversy similar to other European countries.

Chega cited France and other EU countries’ rationales for banning face coverings commonly worn by Muslim women. The party received support for the bill from center-right parties.

In its bill, Chega said that hiding the face subjects individuals – especially women – “to situations of exclusion and inferiority” and was incompatible with principles such as “liberty, equality and human dignity”.

Lawmakers from left-leaning parties disagreed.

“This initiative is used solely to target foreigners, those who have a different faith,” said center-left Socialist party lawmaker Pedro Delgado Alves whose party voted against the bill.

He said that while no woman should be forced to wear a veil, the far-right party’s approach was wrong.

BBC still pumping out Hamas propaganda

The BBC featured the crying sister of a Palestinian prisoner but failed to mention her brother was serving four life sentences for his role in a suicide bombing.
Murad Abu al-Rub, who was involved in the Kedumim West Bank bombing which killed four Israelis in March 2006, was set to be released as part of the Gaza ceasefire deal.
He was to be one of the almost 2,000 detained Palestinians scheduled to be released under the terms of the hostage return and prisoner exchange deal Israel brokered with Hamas.
In its coverage of the expected family reunion, the BBC showed Aida Abu Rob talking about their apparently imminent meeting.
The minute-long clip, titled Sister’s hopes dashed in long wait for Palestinian detainee brother’s release, could be found on the BBC News homepage on Tuesday.

The woman told Lucy Williamson, the broadcaster’s Middle East correspondent, that she did not know if she would recognise him or what size clothes to buy him after years apart.
The reporter then narrated: “Aida has waited 20 years for her brother Murad to be released from a jail in Israel.
“Dozens of prisoners emerged from Red Cross buses as fathers, brothers and sons – carried in as national heroes. But Murad wasn’t among them.”
However, she failed to mention the reason for his incarceration.

Abu al-Rub received a life sentence for each of the four Israelis killed in the terror plot in Kedumim, west of Nablus.
On Monday, the first prisoners and hostages were exchanged as part of the peace plan brokered by Donald Trump, the US president.
The batch of Palestinians being released includes 249 prisoners who received lengthy prison sentences, in the vast majority of cases for murder and terrorism offences committed against Israelis.
The BBC report then cut to a sobbing Aida, who said: “They kidnapped my brother, they kidnapped them.”
Concluding the report, Williams added: “The BBC later discovered that Murad’s name was moved to a list of deportees.
“Our colleagues in Gaza looked for him among the hundreds released today – we still don’t know where he is.”
A BBC spokesman said: “It was made clear that the prisoner had been serving four life sentences. The interview with his sister was in the context of Israel’s release of hundreds of prisoners as part of the ceasefire agreement and its impact on their families and communities.”

Campaign Against Antisemitism said the coverage proved the BBC “incapable of distinguishing itself between terrorism and its victims” and another example of its “moral blindness”.
A spokesman for the group said: “[The BBC] seems desperate to humanise the terrorists being released from Israeli jails as part of the Jewish state’s devil’s bargain to retrieve its hostages – young people stolen from their homes, communities and festivals who were then tortured and in some cases murdered.
“That is a fundamental moral failing, and it is why the BBC’s reporting over the past two years – and indeed longer – on the Middle East has been so atrocious and has so failed its viewers, listeners and readers and fuelled anti-Semitism in Britain.
“If the BBC isn’t explaining who these terrorists are, calling them by their name and recounting their horrific crimes, it is breaching its own guidelines and failing the fewer and fewer people who still rely on it for their news.”

I was in Manchester the other day and it's the wild west there. Homeless everywhere, some are even brave enough to walk around begging to your face like seagulls at a seaside. Paranormal blacktivity (chimping out, road rage, begging for money), very obvious groups of pickpockets, graffiti, rubbish absolutely everywhere.

It all contrasts to some of the gorgeous architecture there which stands in the middle of a growing swamp of shit. How can elected politicians see all that and be okay with it? They're either braindead bootlickers who've deceived themselves into believing this is acceptable or retarded psychopaths that simply don't give a shit.

Every time I see shit like this, it just pushes me further away from any kind of 'normal' position. Anyone else here started at a relatively "normal/acceptable" position on things and now just want to clear house with a flamethrower?
