A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Fucking pick one.

Police to get broader powers to restrict repeated protests

While I want to lol at the leftist fannies protesting about Gaza getting btfo, you know this will be used for any hotel/anti immigration protests. Labour have properly put the boot on our necks now.
Erasure of freedom of speech and the right to protest was always something the blue/red cunts were trying to do since day 1. Labour have gone turbo stomping since both of these protests are against what Labour would be fine with.

We need an entire rebrand to let the invaders know we mean business
I'm talking new uniforms, new badges as well as a new name
Police have launched an investigation after a suspected arson attack at a mosque in East Sussex. Unarchived twitter video here. No injuries, just damage to the building. Pretty shit arson job, that attack on the MPs office gutted the whole building. False flag to put another boot on our necks as ^ suggests? Things heating up?
The Muslim community better not look back in anger

Mr. Markass Fuckhernah will have to occupy dead nigger storage now.
And like 99.9% of niggers, he didn't learn a thing and immediately went back to being a criminal bellend the second he got out and left the country. Nothing of value was lost here.
He was a passenger.
You're hating on a dead teenager for having a reckless friend.
"Marcus Fakana, 19, of Tottenham, north London, died shortly before 1am on Friday following a police pursuit lasting just 60 seconds.
The teenager is believed to have been a passenger in the vehicle that was involved in a "road traffic collision with another vehicle" after failing to stop after being blue-lighted by the Metropolitan Police."

I didn't know him, but I hope he finds peace.

I reckon Palantir are refusing to have anything to do with Bongcard because they know Starmer and his band of cretins, mohammedans and fruits will have been thrown out into the streets long before it gets past the consultation stage, and the populist right wing government that follows will not look kindly on collaborators.
The idea that palantir are the good guys is laughable, so yes, there’s probably an arse covering element here.
But frankly, it’s just one of those project briefs that you shouldnt touch with a shitty stick. They’ve probably looked at the brief and seen it’s not possible to do to any kind of spec, budget or timeline the British government will pay for. We have no population registry, random systems all over, and they all would need to be integrated. The data centres don’t exist. The input is fragmentary, the systems to integrate into are incompatible.
It’s the sort of project that would be possible on budget only if you were allowed to burn down every single other ID related system first and put an electronic population registry in place.
Palantir aren’t stupid, they understand that it’s a disastrous brief and they have taken the easy way out by saying they don’t want to do it if the public isn’t onboard. What they really mean is it’s a total shit show that would run exponentially over budget and be a disaster. And yes, maybe they’re worried about being strung up as well, but mainly I think they just don’t want to do it
The incompetence and chaos at some point is beneficial to us. Worry if we end up with competent and evil in charge.
And of course ourse they don’t NEED to do it. They have systems that track and profile us all anyway - why spend the time and effort for an app?

Not to worry, I'm sure we can get Fujitsu in to do it. Or even better, Tata consultancy services.

The government shouldn't be allowed to operate any IT service more complicated than a simple online store for paying car tax.

I’m all for them managing the dystopian shit. They’re so bad at it. God forbid we get someone palantir-calibre in charge of it. The incompetence is what will hold it off a while longer.
Lord make my enemies ridiculous (and incapable of any large scale infrastructure projects….)

"Shiiieeeeet i dindu nuffin wrong I was just hangin' round wit' my crimnal friends an' bein' an accomplice! I dindu nuffin!"
Why do you believe that I would care that a criminal nigger died in a car chase because he was hanging around with other criminals. I can only hope the other niggers involved were also reduced to a fine red pulp in the collision, too.
Normal law abiding citizens don't get involved in situations where they find themselves a passanigger in a high speed chase with the police.
He played nigger games and he won the nigger prize.

Faggot.

I told people this was going to happen once Shabana Mahmood became Home Secretary. And then the migrant hotels will get turned into "protected sites".

She wants to ban people who committed unrelated crimes from attending football so this is the next step. You will obey Starmer and you will not protest or else!

And yes whilst it's being marketed as being aimed towards the plasticine people, we all know what it'll be getting used for instead, especially with Digital ID protests too.

Incompetence makes it even worse. They don't care if it "works." They only care if you're subject to it and they're not. The more incompetently it's made and managed, the more pleasure our rulers will feel.

It doesn't help that they think computers are infallible, so if there's a deviation between what the computer says and what the person says, then the person is wrong and must be attempting some form of deception. Even after the post office horizon scandal, they're convinced of this belief to the point that they still routinely refuse to acknowledge the social and financial impact of computer errors (except when those errors benefit the plebs, at which point they're accused of fraud and threatened with prosecution).

Incompetence to the point it’s not even delivered in ten years time is fine by me. See also: Hs2.
