A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I still think the week Reeves has to go to the IMF, he is going to throw the killswitch to put Reform in a bad position, and I think Farage suspects this, too. We know Corbyn is not going to even make a dent. It's like the Dem polling in the US, they grossly overestimate the turnout. Also, if Starmer thinks people are going to vote for another former Labour leader with Islamic ties, then he is on crack.

The Tommy rally is expected to have about 1 million people now, as hotels have skyrocketed in price around the area.

I don't have the time to look into all of these switchabout fuckers, so just give it to me straight, if our previous cabinet was "Gigantic clown shoes" what sort of shoes have we now slipped into?

MSCHF Backward Highs.

Are we sure that Kier Starmer wasn't an accelerationist after all?
This is no longer a slow boil, it's not even a fast boil, fuck it's not even taking the frog out of the pot and holding it above the flames.
Kier Starmer has removed the frog from the pot and thrown it into a volcano.
We only think the frog is still alive because he poured salt on it to make its legs twitch.

Labour under Starmer are now a complete shitshow.
from everything ive observed Britain doing, Starmer probably should have been executed via a bullet to the back of the head for Treason at this point, but alas elites get away with everything, he's pro-Islam and actively hostile to the interests of the White British population

Good, Godspeed Britain, take your country back.

Cooper replaces Lammy as Foreign Sec - Guido.

EDIT: Lammy replaces Mahmood as Justice Secretary.
Fuck me sideways, I thought there would be few places he could do more damage but that's definitely one of them.

People kept on complaining about Attorney General Hermer and what does Kim Jong Starmer do when there's a massive reshuffle? Keep him in post.

What a joke. And giving the DPM slot to the guy who was involved in selling off the Chagos Islands to an ally of China. Labour really do reward failure.

How the FUCK did Ed Miliband stay as well? Was Starmer too petrified of kicking out all of the problem members of his cabinet so some stayed in place?

A great question, maybe a case of keeping enemies close if they can't be binned?

Same with Hermer, what damage could he do?

Got a feeling that the leaks are going to turn into a deluge sooner rather than later,

From Wales: Reform UK refuse to rule out scrapping Senedd (they should smash it down within days of taking office IMO)
