I was told 'you will fucking accept the smart meter or we will cut you off from electricity, however if you want we can set it to only give us daily usage reports instead of twice an hour which will do nothing other than charge the entire day at the maximum usage costs'. I was given no choice, I specifically told them 'my energy meter does not use the rts shit and has over a decade before it needs to be replaced', I was told that it does not matter and that it must be replaced anyway. I asked if I could just have an updated version of my current one, they told me that I do not have a choice and must accept the smart meter. I do not know why, it's all bullshit, logic so propagandist it'd make your gcse french teacher blush. I don't need to know how much energy I'm using, I know how much I use because I look at the fucking bill? It doesn't help me cut down because it doesn't tell me what's using what. I know how much shit uses because I can fucking read, I know that the light's a 10w because it says on the bulb, that my computer is using right now exactly 52w, I know how much shit I use because I have a fucking brain. Being told a total amount per second doesn't help me cut down because I would otherwise have no idea what is contributing to that. Despite being called 'smart' they have no fucking intelligence, they are outright unable to differentiate between me accidentally leaving the heater on, something which would help me cut down on usage, and me just using the heater because it's cold. The only other thing they say to try and justify this bullshit is that it means I don't ever have to have any electrician visit to take readings. I have quite literally never had anyone visit anyway. They always used to just send me a text message with a link to submit my own readings. There's literally no benefit, they have just created two decades of ewaste for nothing and given the government the ability to fucking decide if I can cook food tonight.

There are areas in this country where vast portions of it are older than America. Why would they stick it out to protect their homeland when where they live is not their homeland? There is no crueler fate than a lifetime of disability and medical troubles. A miracle is him being born and not having issues. A child being born at 23 weeks and 'living' is not a miracle, it is a failing of the healthcare system, a system founded not on the concept of reducing mortality but instead morbidity. Doctors are not there to keep people alive, they are there to increase your wellbeing and quality of life. Keeping this child alive is antithetical to the entire field. Does swearing the hypocratic oath mean nothing? I see a lot of harm being done and allowed to continue. It is selfish bullshit by people too afraid to deal with their own emotions. It's the same as people who say you shouldn't kill yourself because your family will be sad. An entire lifetime of misery and suffering is not your choice to inflict upon someone, trying to do so does not make you the recipient of a miracle it makes you a heartless bastard. The months or years you would spend grieving is nothing compared to the living hell you have willingly trapped your child in. Death is the ultimate miracle, to be no longer in pain or suffering, that is the only 'miracle' your child will ever experience. If you have ever had a family member or whoever deal with any serious incurable illness then you know just as well as I do, death is the best option for some people. If that makes me a heartless psychopath then so be it, I just want to ask what the person who would willingly and knowingly force an innocent baby into a lifetime of misery and suffering is by those standards?
Call me old fashioned but I've never liked energy drinks and I think they're bad for kids. I remember growing up and kids being a problem when they had too much coke. They would get a sugar rush and be a pain in the arse then crash. Giving kids a bunch of caffeine and sugar is going to cause the same problems.

Looking back on my childhood the only people who came into school with energy drinks were the ones that obviously did not have good parenting. If the state is going to continually act as a child's parent then it will only ever degrade parenting in general, thus giving the state more reason to go even further with it's version of parenting until everything a child does is decided by the state and the state alone. How many of these bans have ever worked? Kids can't buy alcohol but let's be honest we all drank as kids. Banning these things doesn't make them inaccessible it just makes them more appealing and more of a status symbol. Smoking is legal. Alcohol is legal. Being 200kgs is legal. Driving is legal. Going to India as a single woman is legal. The government is not the arbiter of your life. I agree that yes, they are harmful for you and that the general public should be fully aware of the risks and consequences of consuming those things, they should not however be banned from doing so. With the caveat that in England those things should be taxed at a higher rate to make up for the costs it will cause the nhs. I do not believe that anyone can look at our current situation and think that more bans will ever be a good thing.
