https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Can't even spell "Orwellian" - the American education system.
"Oh after 7 years of non stop shit, he got one thing back"

How many deportations has Trump managed?
Seems like every day a new one gets blocked or reversed by your judiciary.

Right to rent
Sorry for double-post, but basically if you don't have a right to be in the country, then you don't have the right to rent property/apartment/etcetera. It's supposed to go both-ways, as in the person has to prove their right and then the landlord checks if they're allowed to rent the property out to this person, but I imagine enough don't for "right to rent" to even be a term in the first place.

@Crunkle Posted an article, and said: "is going to"
Whereas the article itself says: "is weighing up"
If you believe that they won't do this, I envy your optimism.

You're now a second-class customer if you go to your GP and don't use the NHS app. Every single business you go to forces employees to say "do you have the app?" hundreds of times a day. The Online Safety Act 2023 is causing havoc across the Western world and has legitimised the idea of ID-gating the Internet to the EU and even more US states. Android is joining the likes of Apple and locking users from installing whatever they want on their own device. The meaning of ownership degrades every single day.

A centralised ID system means that a person can be disappeared and anonymised if the governments wants them to, there are no loose ends or cards to cut up. You just press the Delete key and that person no longer exists. Remember the 150k migrants that the government "lost track of"? Those are the same people who will be managing this data and now will have even more to accidentally lose on a train or have stolen by a mugger.

Consider this headline and why they've paired the digital ID and housing migrants in old industrial sites together in the same sentence. They want to show how strong they are to rebut the recent protests, and they think that they'll be able to get us to exchange our freedom and autonomy over ourselves in exchange for moving rapists away from small communities. They absolutely won't uphold their part of the bargain, but we'd have given up our rights.

Once these freedoms are surrendered, they do not return unless they are taken back by force.

EDIT: Yeah just saw Community Happenings, it is definitely not government policy. I reckon it's the government floating the idea and seeing if it quells the protests. Tony Blair has been lobbying for it since he was in Downing Street and has made quite good progress towards it. The population is already conditioned to accept convenience over everything else so if this ever comes into force, it will be now.

You do not hate them enough.

You might think you do, but you do not.
They have always used illegal immigrants as an excuse to push laws onto the natives.

How many Arabs can you tell apart? They will all use the same id the same way they use uber accounts. Switch phones when you need it.

Welper losing an internet argument posted in the community happenings. I posted a correction to it. Hopefully it's acceptable and not a thread ban for me.

Controversial statement but I want to leave the internet behind. It's become too connected to everything and now you can't do basic stuff without your phone. Even loyalty cards are apps now instead of actual cards. I want to disconnect from it all. Get a dumb phone and forget the digital world ever existed.

threadbanned for a week
It has to be voted on and shit first. I think at this moment in time it's a bit too soon to panic.
To show I'm a good sport about it all though, I'll overlay an American flag in my avatar for an entire month if this comes to pass and is compulsory.

"You elected literal fucking communists that sold jet engine specs to the Soviets."
I know ;(

you say as if they won't use people as controlled ops and get their adversaries arrested, like it's been going out in here and how commie germoids are trying to roll out with AfD.

'Run away from your country when things get tough'

Shut up, nigger. America is nearly minority White. Europe has some shit governments at the moment for sure, but they are all deeply unpopular and combine that with the fact that Whites are still the strong majority, there is a lot of hope in the near future for things to change radically for the better.

to a certain extent I agree. Maybe not removal entirely, but I would like to go back to the days when it was mostly the first world and govt's didn't know much about how to use it against the populace. Not that that directly solves any of the issues you mentioned. I know that truthfully the best option is to take a match to it and watch it burn, the good thing about that is that all my problems are suddenly not my problems anymore.

I'm in a much better position than you. Much better. There is a rifle and a can of ammo standing between me and the hell you are going through. Your government is fucking you in the ass and you're insult is saying "you're kinda brown!"

Nigger, you people invented the Muslim rape gangs! We don't have those in my state nigger! I am telling you this because you are getting fucking ramrodded. Wake up. Cameras everywhere isn't normal! Digital ID is not normal! Not being able to walk down the street with headphones on is not normal! You live in hell! I'm telling you this because what other choices do you have?

This is like every 50 year old MAGA guy who takes selfies of himself in the car with sunglasses.

Your government enforced mixed schooling at gunpoint. Your government was outed for spying on your entire population for years, and it almost certainly is still going on. Your government gives massive financial support to kikes in the Levant.

Who is defending Starmer? Who is saying Europe is going great currently? But there is a lot of energy in Britain, Australia and parts of Europe that could manifest into something big, while Americas energy has resulted in civ-nat Trump who has only managed to slightly slow the replacement of American Whites. Trump isn't all bad! But under his leadership, America is still transforming into Brazil while the fate of Europe and Australasia is up for grabs.

The only document they should be issuing to illegals is a criminal record
What a waste of tax money

I think the next party in power will roll back some of the changes, maybe deport some of the Arabs, but the digital ID is here to stay
They are probably going to push this shit in Australia or Canada next

If you haven't switched your smartphone off for a month and swapped your SIM out to a dumbphone, it's a nice feeling. Never install a points/loyalty app on your phone. They aren't there to help you, they're there to profile you and then advertise to you. Reward points which give you money off aren't there to help you, they're there to build brand obedience and turn you into good Nectar points cattle.

Bro I dunno if you remember but it was only a little while ago your gov was outright giving your buttholedfoxx to Peter Thiel (for free).
Your bullets don't mean shit if you're not actually trigger pulling, the scrotes we've got right here right now throwing up flags on every corner (and I mean every bloody corner it's getting a bit silly now) are less flaccid a force than your "standing by" LARPfags, come and have a go if you think you're hard enough; our gov are already having second thoughts or "mass deportations" wouldn't be flagship policy.

Nigger, you people invented the Muslim rape gangs!
You have Cartels raping your kids and you don't even talk about it on the news.

You're shitting up the thread (as all Americans do). You posted a wrong community happening and instead of owning up to it you're trying to have internet slap fights. Stop being retarded and go shit up another thread.

A lot of those apps track your location too. I know Amazon's app will send your location data back to it's servers. They can be used to track you.

Yes. And?
Your government enforced mixed schooling at gunpoint.
You have that.
Your government was outed for spying on your entire population for years, and it almost certainly is still going on.
Five eyes. You have that too.
Your government gives massive financial support to kikes in the Levant.
Britain does as well.
Who is defending Starmer?
I mean i don't see anyone naming him as a filthy traitor.
Who is saying Europe is going great currently?
It's terrible.
But there is a lot of energy in Britain, Australia and parts of Europe that could manifest into something big,
COULD. LMAO
while Americas energy has resulted in civ-nat Trump who has only managed to slightly slow the replacement of American Whites. Trump isn't all bad! But under his leadership, America is still transforming into Brazil while the fate of Europe and Australasia is up for grabs.
Trump has done more for this country in one year than the Tories did 14. And he's just one guy.

I'm in a much better position than you. Much better.
If you have to tell somebody you're better than them, you probably aren't. I won't lie, though, very jealous of your ability to own a gun. I'll give you that one.

:felted:

CalyxOS is fantastic. You can sandbox certain applications to prevent them from accessing any permissions you don't want. If Amazon wants location services on, I think the sandbox just returns dummy data so Amazon thinks it has permission.

The location data and any other data they take while on a phone is an overreach but the wider aggregate data of "oh shit, all these people are eating food daily to survive" I'm not really convinced the data collection in grocery shopping is actually providing them much more than an office of tech bros talking about how amazing they are for noticing people have BBQs in good weather and drink more hot chocolate in cold weather. Online shopping, gambling and other non-essential products/services/things apps are far more aggressive in marketing as it's stuff people don't need so that data they collect can actually be put to use. Anywhere they can crossover data to build a much better picture is also more worrying so if you had a reward points card and picked up 2 crates of beers then they approximated you would be drinking that night and then sold/used that data to spam the gambling app notifications when you are drinking, it's far more than just "run more ads the superbowl/world cup/derby is on".
