A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

His bookshop in Rayleigh, Essex, (from what I have heard) doesn't get a lot of trade and in fact he's not very popular in the area as Rayleigh is very much Reform UK land.
It's an online bookshop primarily, the shop itself seems to not be promoted very much.

Filthy website, though.

I've been hearing that for years from your politicians. You need people promising to throw them out on a raft and sink the new ones coming in. Build a wall if you will.
Nigger, shut the fuck up.
This is the UK News thread.

No one who comes in here wants to read the opinions of a terminally online fat Mormon Yank that's never left the USA.
You don't even understand how the parliamentary system in the UK/Commonwealth works.

"Sink the boats" - yeah pig trotters, no one has ever thought of that before 🙄

"Build a wall" - on an island?
Christ, you're fucking retarded.

Anyway, to keep on thread topic:

Someone made a little meme game about what life is like in the UK if you are a native born in the 1990s.

It is apparently a marketing tool for some political party/movement called Progress, which I haven't heard about but seems intriguing. Anyone know anything about it? The 'game' implies some really based things but the lack of info and the odd vagueness triggers my warning senses.

Progress used to be what the Right of Labour was called, during the Blair years.

Sounds like a clarion cry for 90s type Labour in the 2020s... no thanks.

Despite the first four years being alright, I've no desire to return to those days.

@Crunkle Apparently that's the fifth version of the website... jeez that's bad - it looks like a very bad Wordpress attempt.

Looks like Omegon has had a Twitter/X ban...

It got archived last time 9 years ago and it looks exactly the same. Imagine staying still for a decade.

Also, news from your resident polling spastic. Second pollster has confirmed the boost from Reform's mass-deportations policy. This is popular now and acceptable with 35% of voters.

REF: 35% (+3)
LAB: 20% (-3)
CON: 17% (-1)
LDEM: 13% (=)
GRN: 7% (-1)

This is far past the SDP bounce in the 80s as we have now had a Reform lead in over 100 consecutive polls.

That's what makes me think it's 'suspect'.

Most businesses update their site, software and all the other necessary things in time. His looks like a 2000s retail site which got lost in the midst of time.

The business takes PayPal and Cheque Payment... hmm, in whose name I wonder.

'Unlike some businesses I pay my tax in the UK' - yeah is that really a flex?

Interesting that biblio.com has his address down as Rayleigh, Aberdeen!

Lord Justice David Bean is the corrupt bastard who made the decision to keep the Epping migrant hotel open. A quick web search will show the bastard is a friend of Labor, and has spent his life advocating for progressive causes. Wife was a bureacrat named Ruth Thompson who died of cancer in 2016. Pity her and not him.

He just got a lot more popular today. Tommy Robinson, (And I still wonder if he's controlled opposition,) even posted his name and face online.

It's only a matter of time before someone turns their ire outside a migrant hotel to outside the flats of these traitors.

I love how without context this looks like one of those danger maps and it's saying that London is massively unsafe and full of crime (which it is anyways)

We've bureaucrats so furrily entrenched in the system who have made it their goal in life to have a liberal (socialist) world order be enacted in Britain and that's what they will do.
It's very much neoliberalism dressed up as socialism rather than actual socialism.

Any country that was genuinely capable of establishing some sort of socialist paradise with efficient public healthcare and a universal basic income would have prospective immigrants swarming like flies on shit. You simply cannot effectively implement socialist policies while allowing unchecked migration in the manner that we do currently - we're already straining under it and current Britain is nowhere near the free ride that it would be if it were an actually socialist country.

Socialism and mass migration are mutually exclusive. Which is ironic because the same people arguing for socialist policy are often the same ones insisting borders are just imaginary lines and anyone should be able to live anywhere no matter what.

Edit: I didn't bother to read the rest of the thread, I've more or less ended up repeating @femboy fart huffer

Oh hey look at that, the scumbag gypsy admitted he put one of these little girls in the hospital.
View attachment 7849133View attachment 7849134
Now he's adding to his story saying the girls' mother was also there and attacking him and they were all on drugs but the police stopped them. He's also getting his story mixed up, the girl with the kitchen knife wasn't the one sent to hospital.
Incredible that some "people" reflexively came out in defense of a lying migrant pimp and not the terrified little girl he was confronting.
He admits his sister (or wife? which is it, make up your mind) attacked the children.

Yeah, it's just an export from my IDE which has a cool little graphing tool. Think it'd work way better for smaller sets of data but thought that info might be interesting.
As Mr. Huffer said, you definitely want to swap to a bar chart or something similar as you're dealing with discrete data.

I'd also suggest grouping the countries by region rather than alphabetically but that's more so that you can milk the graph a bit and demonstrate that there are obvious geographic clusters from which crime is more likely. If you want to get really spicy with it you could also set a colour key of state religion/religious majority per country. Of course, having it be a binary of X religion vs not-X religion would seem biased, you'd need to include all the major ones.

The graph as an idea is very good, though. Based on real data for which each entry has some narrative to it rather than often vague crime statistics.

Farage is a populist through and through
True in a sense. He voices "the will of the people" when it becomes very obvious and it's contrary to what the liberals and conservatives are doing.

But he despises the everyday Englishman, and his hatred of them will always win. It's how he defines himself.

The final destruction of the British people will happen "under" Farage, if he becomes PM.

The Lord giveth with one hand and takes with the other and all that I guess.

"Russia’s basic response to the ECHR judgments has consistently been prompt payment of the awarded compensation and costs ... Russia’s record in this respect is relatively satisfactory. ... they have largely honored their article 4663 obligations and complied with the monetary judgments of the Court. In fact, this degree of compliance has generally been praised as “exemplary.” In 2007, Russia set aside approximately U.S. $4.2 million to pay the ECHR judgments .. As of December 31, 2007, 59 percent of all payments have been made on time, 7 percent of all payments have been made after the deadline, and 34 percent of cases were pending for control of payment (which means that the information as to payment is still to be assessed by the Court)."

Fact check your shit before you call bullshit, Google ain't hard to use. Also Russia only became a signatory in 1996, 43 years after Stalin's death.
Turns out I was wrong about Russia and the ECHR.

I am right about slavs not being human though.
Remember the names of the Politicians, Council Workers, Media and the Mouthpieces who made this possible.

Once Nigel is PM, they all need to be executed in the public square.
As a gorilla who couldn’t build a nest once said, do not forget that these people want you broke, dead, your kids raped and brainwashed, and they think it's funny.
We got lucky in the US, the shitlibs took out the boomer right faction.
We have a large section of boomers who could have the government move migrants into their living room and they’d still vote Labour.

They go on three holidays a year and own their own homes because of Thatcher but will piss and moan about her like she was a dictator.

These people have addresses. I wonder how invested they’d be in the neoliberal project if the protests started happening outside their homes?

The far-left does this to Tories, so it seems like the establishment thinks this is fair game.
