A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Appealing this was the worst thing the gov could've done. All it'll do is harden tensions and it was correct since there were more fights at Epping outside the hotel last night. I don't even see how this will stop other court cases going ahead for every single migrant hotel since the decision the government put ahead in the appeal was specifically about Epping.

This could bring the courts to a standstill for a few months which seems like a retarded idea considering we've already got a backlog in the court system.
Ok so we have something that no one likes and was illegal. People have tried protesting, that didn't work. They then tried going through the other legal option of jewish lawfare, that didn't work either. They have not resolved the issue, they have not removed the reason why people are annoyed or done anything to quell the anger of the people. They have now just removed the only legal ways for people to remove it. As in the only thing that this will do is end up in more firebombings like last year. If you don't even want to give people the illusion of control then don't be surprised when they take it into their own hands, you know just like the osa and countless other things from throughout history.
Blessing is disguise, I would prefer they be kept in the hotels and not sprinkled over our streets.
They will be anyway. They're not locking them in the hotels, they're just letting them live there. They're still on the streets as much as they want and I'm sure they'll have unlimited access to the country after the week it takes for a totally genuine decision to be made that they are fleeing an existing war in India that they simply had to come to England to escape.

They have free reign to go as they please. There's no security or attempt to prevent them causing troubles. They get a lecture on "British culture" and then shoved into a hotel and told to have fun. Food is provided and they get a tenner a week on a debit card.

Within 24 hours of a load being bussed in every public space is taken over by them. If there's any sort of park or playground they will take it over and spend all night drinking and fighting. If there isn't they will sit at bus stops in packs looking for easy meat.

Blessing is disguise
This is making weird sense to me. The current situation (for us) might be the ideal one. The rapists are still living in the place we know they live in and the outrage for this is just increasing thanks to the way the gov is behaving.

They have now just removed the only legal ways for people to remove it. As in the only thing that this will do is end up in more firebombings like last year.
Fantastic point and exactly what I've been fearing.

If they carry on like this, they'll meet the same fate as Mussolini before we even get to 2029. This needs some kind of solution or some kind of active "we see this is bad" response to even head this off. The mainstream broadcasters and politicians that want to close the hotels are sanitary but look at any of the comments and the line between deport all/deport Muslims is getting murkier.

Genie is out of the bottle now and I don't see it going back in unless we either have a full-on English vs. Muslim street brawl or deport them.

Normally the government would pull some politician lies. They would say yes we are going to close the hotels so that people would stop protesting them, obviously they'd just be moved to something that isn't a hotel and would continue, but the politicians would at least lie to try and pretend to be on the side of the general public such is their fucking job description. Now they haven't. They have drawn a hard line in the sand and said fuck off we do not care about your concerns or worries and will continue to ignore you. And then people will get pissed off even more by that. And then they'll look back at very recent history and go well fuck it, I'll go do the same as what everyone did last year. Anyone with a brain can see that is what will happen. How many average irish people were throwing bricks and stones at the army after they made it incredibly clear there will be no negotiations? How many people started that sort of low level civil disobedience after being explicitly told that their wishes will be ignored and they are hated? Violence is the language of the ignored after all. From every time in history that a large movement formed and made demands through the legal means and were ignored they all turned to violence. Regardless of whether you agree with their message, ignoring people completely makes them continually escalate their voices until you can no longer ignore them. People will not suddenly stop and change their minds. They will just speak their minds louder and louder until the only thing loud enough is the peasantry rolling cannons into London like they have the past 200 times.

I personally do not believe that politicians are retarded. None of them are. Not in the sense of actual retardation. ok maybe there are a few retarded ones but look carl was just doing his best ok?They know exactly what they are doing and what it will cause, at least in these relatively simple matters. They just want you to think they're retarded because it's harder to ascribe malice to them if that's the case even if it's obvious. If I had to guess it would be to provoke another summer of love so that they can easily smear nigel as the face of what they will brand as domestic terrorism. They already tried that last year by calling them the farage riots. At the end of the day they are politicians, they don't value your life and see you just as a number, but they think the exact same way about everyone else on earth. If a thousand migrants horribly burn to death they will not care as long as it will increase their chances of winning. They would slaughter all of them if it secured a win because to them these people are not people they are just numbers to fill out a slave labour class and to try and wring out for money to make up for the massive gaps in pensions and all those sorts of things. To them there is no difference between 1000 English people being raped by foreigners and 1000 illegal immigrants being burnt alive. They are all just a minor uptick in crime numbers. The only thing that they care about is how they can use it for political gain. Farage uses one to promote himself and if the other happens it will be used to smear him. They will not even remember a single name of any of them because they do not give a shit.

I agree with almost everything you said, aside from one word. I will not fedpost, I will let you guess.
They have free reign to go as they please.
Not really. They have free reign to go wherever they want within the local area. The epping hotel only increases issues within epping. They're still stuck in these places until the government decides that the obvious economic migrant leeches are actually refugees fleeing war and deserve instant citizenship. Then they get to go spread their issues to every city. The hotels are a good thing, keep them in there and make the process as slow as possible otherwise they will increase the spread of them and increase the speed at which they are given sham citizenships and allowed to go do absolutely anything they want. The hotels are nowhere near the solitary confinement cells in prison that they deserve but it's better than the alternatives that the government want to use. At least the current one.

None of them are being tracked or monitored. They can go literally any where they want. Most of them stay in the area for free bed and food but many of them don't. They often house them next to train stations and most trains don't even check if you have a ticket. They're free to go any where without being tracked and if they don't come home that's just another free room for another one.

Making the process slow is a bad idea. The longer they are here, the more they have an argument that they can stay here.

From shore to camp to France in a week. Any who die get buried at sea.

Got an interesting tip-off on Xitter about a story that's being hushed.

Turns out that up in Burnley, a rumoured HMO site was hit with an arson attack. Whilst it was only a small fire in the "backyard" (exterior?) of the building, it's sparked a bit of a war between the Labour MP Oliver Ryan and the Reform leader of the Lancashire County Council.

Asylum seekers/migrants were moved out of local migrant hotels and it was thought this building was going to become a HMO for them.

Burnley Council put a post up which read:
No matter what our political affiliations are, we as your local councillors, stand together with one simple message.
We will not tolerate racism, hatred or violence.
We will not allow a tiny minority to commit criminal acts.
We are proud of our town and the sensible majority of our residents who want no part in targeting residents simply because of the colour of their skin.
Yes, people have concerns about immigration, and because we live in a democracy, people have the right to free speech.

They have the right to challenge government policy but we will not be dragged back to the disturbances of 2001. *
We’ve all worked too hard to ensure our town has regained its rightful place in the media, now recognised for our exceptional parks and vibrant, diverse communities not for intolerance or hatred.
Here are the facts:
  • The Home Office not Burnley Council makes all asylum decisions. We do not decide where accommodation is situated or where people are placed.
  • There are no asylum hotels in Burnley. None. And the Home Office has confirmed there are no plans to use any hotel in our town, for asylum accommodation.
Out of around 42,000 homes in Burnley, 118 are being used for asylum accommodation, for families and individuals awaiting a decision on their immigration application.
  • The Government has not acquired or leased properties from private landlords in Burnley for temporary asylum accommodation since 2023.
We are One – Resilient, United and Proud of our Town.
* - Worth mentioning that Burnley had some nasty race riots in 2001 as a part of the larger Bradford riots.

Just edited my post to add the list of protests this weekend alone.

Total dumpster fire that won't get any better.
Saturday has five highly likely potential flashpoints. One of them has been extremely quiet while this has been going on until now and I would be very, very surprised if something doesn't go down tomorrow.

The one I’m looking at is a definite setup given the cctv coverage in that area.

And what happens when it gets to nighttime? Why would anyone ever chose to be homeless when they have a nice hotel paid for them? These people are coming here to leech, not to sleep on our streets. They're tied to the hotel by the fact they have nowhere else to sleep. I'm sure some of them disappear off into the night to go sleep in some illegal hmo to be a deliveroo driver or whatever but not the majority of them. Also I have quite literally never been on a train and not had to show a ticket. Don't forget that these aren't Europeans, they do not have the physical ability to deal with the cold. Their fat distribution is completely different to ours and so is most of their internal workings. These people would freeze to death on the streets much like all the black people do when they move to the streets of canada for free shit.
Making the process slow is a bad idea. The longer they are here, the more they have an argument that they can stay here.

From shore to camp to France in a week. Any who die get buried at sea.
In an ideal world I would agree. But let's be honest, a quick processing does not mean a quick deportation. It means a quick citizenship. There are no deportations. Not in any meaningful measure anyway.
Turns out that up in Burnley, a rumoured HMO site was hit with an arson attack.
Oh wow. Look. You took away the ability of the people to speak and now they're speaking with unignorable actions instead of words. Who could have seen that one coming.
We are One – Resilient, United and Proud of our Town.
Well now you're one plus about 1000, forced to be resilient to put up with the crime rates not through choice, very much not united considering these people hate you, and not proud of your town otherwise you would feel a great shame in allowing it to be defiled.

Why are they bragging about only having 118 migrants housed in their land and then going on to say that they don't have any hotels housing them? You don't have a place dedicated to housing them so you don't have many? And this is meant to be a surprise? If anything that's a bad thing. Even without dedicated housing for them you're still letting them in. There should be 0 houses for them. And how many of those houses are being used by people who were migrants? And what do they mean welcoming and diverse? The town that had fucking riots against diversity and has a crime rate 40% higher than national average is welcoming? And the town that has a higher percentage of English people than the national average is diverse?

Reeks of horse shit I think. Typical labour gaslighting. And also just want to quote one of the articles directly full copy paste. 'Afrasiab Anwar, leader of Burnley Council'.

Why are they bragging about only having 118 migrants housed in their land and then going on to say that they don't have any hotels housing them?
118 houses, not 118 migrants.

Worth noting that they do not mention how many of those overall housing numbers are ones the council actually has control over.

Remember the names of the Politicians, Council Workers, Media and the Mouthpieces who made this possible.

Once Nigel is PM, they all need to be executed in the public square.

Im going to say this. You guys are already in the danger zone. Its bad man. People on the outside of your island are hearing about this. When that happens, things are getting scary. Its no longer "just" a rape, or "just" a murder. Your island is on fire. All the news broadcasters have been given orders to dump water on this fire so it (hopefully) goes out. It won't, because the only answer is giving the people what they want, putting every brown in the back of a van and shipping them back home. That is where you are at.

The key is for people to understand the justice system is openly against them and on the side of the rape apes, when they realize they can not ask nicely we will get to the next level. Today was a very good day, the last thing we needed is for people to have some random hotel shut down and get the comfort pillow of thinking the judges are reasonable and fair.
