A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

This is going to make people very angry. A little girl ran home to get a knife to protect her sister from a pedo and the police went after the girl and not the pedo. They just can't help themselves can they?

Evidence the man is a pedo? Because of the accent?

Nah lol. It's a Scottish council estate. The adults and youths there are fucking wild and would think nothing of waving an axe at a brown person because he or she is brown.

It's usually the ones who paint their own flag everywhere and post "it's are country!" all over twitter.

Yes. All browns, and all foreigns should be assumed hostile until they prove directly otherwise. Feel free to not respond to this unless you agree, because I'm going to call you a nigger pedo if you do. Thanks for your time.
Humans have survived for so long because we notice patterns and tend to distrust something unless we can prove it's safe. I don't see an issue with this, you nigger paedo.

P.S. don't make the Warwick thread please

Oh yes, definitely. 50% no, but there’s definitely a few on here.
I'd say about 15-20% on here. You don't need as many actors in a slower moving format such as a forum because individual posts (not just effort posts) have more impact. On an imageboard or the likes of Twitter its definitely the shotgun approach because of the fast-moving nature of them.

On the DM website they're running an article about how the UK is heading towards an IMF bailout. Maybe I'm just old (well, I am) but surely this is an incredibly serious, bad thing and we should be making more of a stink over it?

It's completely avoidable. We are spending millions a week housing hostile people who have entered the country illegally, as well as the same on people who have no right to be here and should have no recourse to public funds. I am neither in Government nor an economist but if need to tighten my finances I start with the most obvious and go from there.

The fact the Government would rather go cap in hand to the IMF rather than stop wasting money on illegals says it all.

The IMF don't just give out money for free, they'll offer it with conditions too. Probably some very nasty conditions like giving up a valuable commodity.

Every single time Labour has been in power, there's been a major retarded decision that has resulted in a huge problem for some part of the economy. Healey in 1976 with the IMF, Brown in the late 2000s with gold and pensions.

Hilariously, they're only in the position now of defending their "£50 billion black hole" because they spent 8 months repeating the "£22 billion black hole" line.

Well yes. It is a big deal.
I suppose that assumes that the IMF and their overlords aren’t the same lot who are managing the decline of Britain. I suspect they are, and that a bailout will inflict further pain. The IMF aren’t going to cut immigration are they? They want the NHS

Specifically they want the pseudonymised patient data. Fuck knows what for but they've been gagging to do this for ages.

The fact this is in the news means it's a done deal and they're dropping it now to get us ready for it. And still, the MPs are on their summer jollies.

People have been making vague indications that Trump would have some control over it but I have no idea if that's actually true or not.
If it's true, I doubt he'd want another openly hostile country constantly trying to needle him on (((the important issues))).
...but he's a big Israel fan so what the fuck do I know?

Oh yes they do. It’s worth staggering amounts of money.
amazon, google, Walmart (yes Walmart!) and every pharma and pharma service company on the planet wants it. They are developing Big Data / machine learning platforms that will crunch that data to produce insights and leads and various other things that the industry is salivating over.
Like, staggering amounts of money. And data, and intel.
Did I mention how many mil intel people go work in pharma for a while?

pensions.
This thread is obsessed with pensions. I maybe being autistic but a lot of arguments come down to "what about the pension?" I wonder if it's because some of us are near retirement age and pensions matter to us then so we project that onto others.

He's a grown man hanging round a playground with no signs of having a child there. Do you think kids run off to get axes for the fun of it? Yes, having a foreign accent makes you a predator when you're acting how all the foreign predators do. If you're hanging around a place you shouldn't be and you don't sound like you're from there you are a pedophile looking for a chance.

Scotland hate the English. Their flag waving is performative to show how much better they are than them. Ask Scotland which football team they support and you only get one answer "Who ever's playing against the English". And they mean it too.
If Starmer goes down, I've gotta do it. Made in Wales has fuelled my optimism so much that I'm actually building up material for it on word.

No, but that won't stop them from sending you threatening letters.
It has to start with that clip of him falling out of a SUV from Extras.

You can only have the money if you open your borders wider and stop being so racist would seem a likely offer being made.

Is it true they're trying to train cloned raptors to use as bio weapons in Afghanistan?

I'm curious, do you ever suspect stuff like that anywhere on KF? We were just talking about that in USPG2, I am skeptical, but one guy felt 30-50% of the users there are feds/shills.
A lot of feds on farms and a lot of shills looking to push agendas and steer conversations into certain directions. Any time the same old, same old posters gang up on a talking point, you know they're were pushing an agenda.

Bring up internet censorship in relation to Britain and America respectively and see what the majority of posters say.

This thread is obsessed with pensions
I just turned 30, I literally couldn't give a single solitary fuck about pensions beyond the understanding that all the money the government takes from me, I'll never see again. If I could opt out of my state pension payments, I would, because I'm never getting that money back. The 'olds' and the pension system as it currently stands is a millstone around the neck of a man tied to the titanics engine block.

I'm amending my plan to deploy the Royal Navy to stop the boats. Instead we deploy a series of inflatable Angela Rayners in the Channel from Falmouth to Ramsgate. I call it Operation Reversing Siren.

I wonder if it's because some of us are near retirement age and pensions matter to us then so we project that onto others.
You've been involved in a lot of stupid arguments in this thread the past week.

All I'll say is that pensions are the only security some people get. It's money that they've earned, and people feel that security in their money disappear when a government A) fucks up the economy and B) They don't trust the government as a force for good. Take away the promise of a comfortable later life and people despair.

Of course it's important, a good chunk of spending in the economy is fueled by pensions.

Are you pray for pills sock puppet?
Pretty sure it's -Jack-/Guntstress of Diabeteez. He can't resist the fat bitch threads.

I’ve always assumed I’d get no state pension. The concern is twofold .
Firstly, a lot of people will be absolutely destitute without it. Secondly everyone knows it’s unsustainable, but to admit that, and to stop or reduce or change the conditions means having to admit that the game is up and that will have seismic political consequences.
Is it true they're trying to train cloned raptors to use as bio weapons in Afghanistan?
People’s CVs and work histories are not secret. you see enough upper mid to high people who’ve had a spin at Ray£heon and you start to wonder

Is it true they're trying to train cloned raptors to use as bio weapons in Afghanistan?
Why the fuck are they manufacturing them as weapons? Surely the pet/sex market would be far bigger?
Bloody procurement grifting...

I don't see any swings or anything to suggest it's specifically a playground. Just a regular walking area with paths etc in an open patch of a crappy council estate.

Yeah totally agree with you about Scottish attitudes towards the English at football(soccer). They can't fucking qualify for anything (maybe the World Cup every 24 years or so, but don't place bets on them getting past the group stage) so thye just choose whoever England are playing to support.

Pensions are the reason the Western nations are engaging in this suicidal demographic replacement, there'll always be an ever-increasing number of pensioners and thus, there needs to be an ever-increasing young worker demographic to foot the bill - but fertility doesn't keep pace so they do this mass migration under the mistaken belief migrants become tax positive quickly, when we've been repeatedly shown that isn't true.
No party will ever do the suicidal optics of cutting state pensions even when it's clearly the albatross strangling us around the neck, the line must always go up, never down.
