https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I like how they've been baiting the far right into attacking so they could shut down the protests early on but instead they've remained peaceful and simply grown. They know they can't shut down the protests without violence or it'd be the very thing the right are complaining about regarding the two tier justice system. They've tried to pin the protests on neo-nazis and that didn't stick.

At some point they become so big that they are simply unpolicable. I'd say we've already hit the threshold because of how spread out they are, but I can see the protests EASILY doubling in size.

They are trying to instigate a war.
That's my interpretation as well, it's a key phrase that keeps popping up in the media; "fear of an escalation", escalation from who and what exactly?
It's being deliberately kept vague and ominous and I don't :like: it at all, it's some colour revolution bullshit.

This is where IMO the 'Far Right' will win out, by simply doing nothing.

Let the Left protest - Starmer and the MSM calling them 'violent thugs' will only amplify them and turn more people from the Corbyn end of the spectrum against the Government.

It would be akin to calling Extinction Rebellion etc. 'fascists' - the Left eating the Left alive.

We need to keep our cool, the establishment is scared and knows that it doesn't have much time left and also knows that it will face a near future critical attack but knows not from where.

Maybe Rayner and co. will bring Starmer down, or perhaps it'll be Donald Trump angry at how Starmer is running the country.

It could even be Colonel Mustard in the Study with a Revolver.

Scared, no longer in control of events and mocked the world over - this is a soon to be ex-Government which won't even get time to pine for the fjords.

So long do you guys think before shit hits the fan and Britons fucking collapse or maybe starmer gets lynched?

Until the UK kicks off - a few weeks, there's bound to be 'Southport 2' at some point.

Until Starmer is out/Government falls - will give it until either Parliament breaks for Conference season or during the Conference Season (16th September to 1st October).

As Stingray once said... 'Anything can happen in the next half hour!'

Sometime between now and the heat death of the universe.
Anyone saying the happening will happen is retarded, there are decades where nothing happens; and there are weeks where decades happen, it's purely a black swan.
There are however various genies that won't go back in their bottles, all the Weimar Germany type stuff with opposing forces battling it out in the street? That's a temporal accelerant if ever there as one.

Well, we will see what (if anything) happens.

Don't be surprised, however, if Palestine Action/similar do something major.

If it does, it does, if it doesn't then we'll be lucky... in one way.

My schitzo theory is that Starmer is purposefully throwing us into a civil war stage as an absolute power grab to hammer down authoritarian policies and changes. Ironically, Hitler did this too. I think he is doing this to flat out the pound and Superman us to outside groups. Corpos come in and buy everything, and you have a technocrat corpo, Outer Heaver.

There is a teency weency issue, Starmer has not realized the violent capabilities of the far left and the danger of the far left and far right unifying with a singular course. Happens a lot in civil wars, and I can see a truce happening because both parties despise Starmer.

I think the international response would be interesting too. At this point, though, it is apparent that there is a lack of control in place. As I have said previously, the problem is that the systems in place are already in a state of collapse. The military won't even declare their true number and is only a few thousand. The NHS would disintegrate overnight, and because of the size of the country, an attack on the grid would have devastating results.

They are trying to instigate a war.

They think that the Far Right are going to attack them.

They are forgetting about the Far Left.

A lot of them are now openly talking about 'removing' Labour MP's 'by any means'.

Well done Labour, you now have an out of control beast who hates you even more than Nigel and chums do - that takes SOME doing indeed.
This isn't going to end how they think it will.

It won't just be more protest and possible violence in the streets. That's what the government, police and judges WANT to happen. Then they can just institute curfews and Kafka courts like they did the first couple times.

People will visit their homes. The corrupt judiciary, two-tier cops and traitorous politicians will have unwanted guests, and maybe even the middle of the night.

The Troubles didn't just have a bunch of street fights.

Let them think all they have to do is kettle a few groups, throw em in a van, give them outrageous sentences, and use street cameras to find the rest.

Let them underestimate the consequences of their actions.

It'll be funny.

I'm not convinced this is a black swan. Rarity, extreme impact - yes and yes. Retrospective ( but not projective ) predictability - the very fact that there are a great number of us expecting it to kick off would suggest a degree of projection. This is rare, but not unexpected.....the fact that this is an extreme outlier but is predictable in the factors or precursors are there, suggests something more fractul to me and "gray" swan.

Very well said - the elephant in the room is the Far Left.

I personally think that whatever is coming will amaze us - that's why I've used the term 'unknown unknowns'. I don't know what will happen, when it will happen or how it will happen - but I can sense that with the current mood it is inevitable.

Some might say 'optimistic' but the same people wouldn't have guessed at just how quickly (a year and a month) this Government has completely fallen apart.

It's a bit like waiting for a train to pass by at a level crossing - the warning lights are on, the claxon is blaring and the barriers are down for what seems like an age... you think that nothing is coming and then whooooosh! it flies past you at 100+ mph.

The Far Left and Far Right uniting is actually not that crazy a notion - in fact, an 'AUOB' (or 'All Under One Banner') movement would work if the Corbynites agreed to befriend Reform UK members. For some it would be difficult, but the pragmatists would realise that there's strength in numbers and getting rid of Starmer and this rotten Government is all that matters.

Once there is a GE (whenever), then each party can make its pitch - I'd not be too upset if Your Party did well, though I think that outside of London they'll struggle with Birmingham a Reform/Liberals carve up, Manchester going Lib Dems and Scotland getting its lowest SNP count since 1992. I'd go for Your Party getting 30-50 seats nationally which would be a great return.

@EddyRooney Agreed - a 'Surprise Swan' would maybe qualify as an apt description.

Oh you're right in that there's signs and all that, my point is that whatever does happen (if it happens) will be what we never saw coming.
There's underlying factors and all that but what will it be? just for the record I'm solidly team Nothing Ever Happens but it's good to be 🌈
That's the black swan right there, I doubt it'd be so basic as a mere race riot, just look at the wiki pages for most revolutions there's always a" causes" section that goes years back, but the happening itself is always something nobody saw coming; bread riots turning into armed mutinies for instance, no point in speculating really but for us it could be something as silly as OSA compliance resulting in mass arrests causing more of a fuss than the swarthy rapists.

My tinfoil hat theory is that they are going to let something pop off at a migrant hotel protest between the pro and anti forces and Starmer will use it to clamp down on protests.

The hotels will get turned into protected sites where police will be given further powers to deal with any agitators, all whilst more boat people come in and get their five star stay.

If you look a the current predictions, somehow the SNP will gain seats despite the fact that they are no longer a popular force and more people are starting to wake up from their clown show. Remember, there are Scottish Parliament elections in 2026 too, and Labour could have taken it back had it not been for Starmer fucking it all up on day one.

The fact that the pro-UK vote gets ridiculously split up between so many parties allows them to easily get through due to FPTP. Reform will worsen it, and Jezbollah won't help matters either. It's abysmal but when Starmer basically fucked up the Labour vote as soon as he got into power, it's given the SNP the perfect ammunition that a Labour government act as bad as the Tories. Unless people start to coalesce around one pro-UK party, the SNP will get an easy win despite everything that they have done over the years.

At the moment, whoever has been tipping off Guido or their assertions of cabinet structure has been bang on. A while ago they said that they were informed Tierney was trying to leave, and behold, today he has left.

He was important because he kept the Home Office collapsing, but his other 2 equals Black and Collins have insinuated that they want out.

I think there is a massive scandal coming from Cooper's department as she this morning u-turned, saying that the Police should declare ethnicity.

Funnier, the newly appointed Chairman of Ethics has slammed Labour on his first day.

He basically implies that Labour, with their poor share, don't have the mandate to truly change it with the right intentions.

More bad news for Starmer as Vance has kinda said he is running for President in 2028 (BASED). Vance is important because he is a new generation of politicians and does not hold back. The Democrats are pushing AOC or Newsome, which will be disastrous.

edit - The 22 billion black hole is now 50 billion, lol!

:suffering:Oh boy I can't wait to see how the next budget fucks me over, again.
At what point do we just declare it a Zimbabwe situation? Because even if they did declare fuck it and started scalping the poors, I doubt there's any piggy bank big enough to plug that massive a gape.

In just over 13 months the Labour party has more than doubled it. That's sort of impressive in a depressing way.

No money, but we're still throwing buckets of cash at people who've entered the country illegally. Absolutely fabulous.

The Big News Story of the Week - Greggs and KFC alliance !

KFC and Greggs are coming together for what people are calling the ‘crossover of the century’.

I mean, it sounds like a match made in heaven, right?
lg.php

The collab surprisingly has nothing to do with chicken but with the ever-famous Greggs sausage roll.

Leaving behind their famous chicken recipe, KFC are teaming up with the British icon to launch a sausage roll drenched in their tasty gravy.

The move is being dubbed nothing short of this century’s best culinary crossover.

I am a heretic. To me this is pikey chav food combined with nigger food. Not sure what that makes......other than even fatter unhealthy "Brits".

Jacob RM couldn't bring himself to eat it last night on GB News. Was funny watching him try, he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

Love Island and the latest offering from Greggs is the modern day version of pane et circe.

Gotta distract the proles from noticing the country is going to shit and our elected Representatives are on holiday.
