A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I watched the Reform stream earlier as it just popped up on JewTube, and the comments were full of glowies commenting.

Shit like this. About half of the accounts I checked with suspiciously "out there" wording had been created this week.

Whilst I understand what @Phalanges Mycologist is saying about the RNLI, it is difficult to have sympathy for them when they are the migrant taxi service. I know that a lot of the staff are unhappy about it, and a lot have quit in protest, but the only way they are going to win people and financial support back is saying 'NO WE WON'T' to the Government.

If the Government locks them up for defiance, then I sincerely doubt (as some 'tards on the socials have said previously) the Royal Navy will take their place - hmm, get deployed to make sure Russia behaves, supporting the USA who have sent ships over there, or become a taxi service for niggy nog and co?

Which is more pressing a matter - stopping 'Mad Vlad' or stopping the migrants?

Losing respect here doesn't mean anything. Protect yourself and the people you know IRL. You keep trying to power level in ways you don't need to. The thread knows you and knows what you're like. You don't need to power level to prove yourself here. Protect yourself and protect your associates. If we are being monitored you're the biggest target and you need to practice Opsec like that.

Visited Manchester for the first time in a decade last year. Place is an utter shit hole and is full of crack heads, niggers plus jeets and a weird amount of communist Chinese all over it. Every inch of the city is covered in graffiti with the residents also mimicking this by often covering themselves in awful looking tattoos. Tons of garish woke shit every where with one section of the city being a particular hot spot and is where you find a lot of the trannies and crack heads if there not in crackadilly. None of the shops are worth entering and are the exact same shit you'd see in any other large British city and the bars and pubs leave a lot to be desired and charge close to London prices in some establishments.

1/10, wont ever visit it again with the only highlight being a pretty good burger I bought. Only reason I'd ever see anyone wanting to visit is if you're really into collecting old vinyl and records.

Manchester has been gone for years. I remember going to a concert back in 2016 with a friend and both of us looking at each other and wondering what the fuck was going on. It hadn't reached street preacher Birmingham level yet but the signs were there with the prominent Islamist speakers.

I went back earlier this year and it's 100% gone. walking through the streets you'll see 95% niggers and muzzies including full blown ragheads and postbox women. Funnily enough I thought it was worse than Birmingham in terms of demographics, even though Birmingham is worse for being a grey depressing shithole that looks like it's never been washed since 1970.

16 year olds: Can't look at porn, can't drink, can't drive, can't buy certain video games, can't adjust graphics on those video games, can't buy things to chop their vegetables with, can't smoke, can't vape, can't be out of school, but CAN vote. This is definitely a sensible country we live in.

Manchester has a much higher population density than Birmingham, and probably a much higher total population than the official figure. Lots of students, lots of "international visitors". Lots of illegals crammed into HOMOs around the north and east.

That's nothing to do with the OSA. It's from geforce now, nvidia's cloud gaming portal, which restricted under-age users from accessing 18+ content years ago.

Do you not know that Russian hackers can hack your NVIDIA graphics card so that they can astral project themselves into your child's bedroom and rape them? We of course need to prevent this, when has big brother not had you and your child's intensions at heart?
