A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

This is a bit of a weird one, but it's bothering me. The weather lately. There's constant reports of "oooohhhh there's gonna be storms soon!!!". Been going on for weeks.

Literally duck all so far. Even the met office are beyond shit, moreso than normal.

Will the Government also now ban betting ads on the idiot box and online
The deregulation of gambling in 2005 in the UK is easily one of the worst, most harmful policies pursued by any government in our lifetimes.

If I could erase one single act only off the statute books, the 2005 Gambling Act as amended would be the one.

Anyone with experience of problem gambling, or someone around them who's a problem gambler, or fuck who actually just has eyes to look, can see the spectacular, life ruining effect across the nation of gambling deregulation. It touches people of every background, every class, although as ever the poor suffer worst. It ruins not just the gambler, but their family.

And in service of the Great God Tax Receipts, you can now go to a fucking Merkur salon 24/7 in this city. Even the pubs are forced to make the alkies go home at night, but you can gamble your fucking life away 24/7, 52 days a year. Jesus wept.

Yes, fucking ban them. Ban them for the same reason we don't casually legalise crack: because it is a massive social evil that should not be encouraged, let alone on the fucking TV in the middle of Loose Women. Oh, and ban fucking phone gambling apps and FOBTs. A Dickensian horror poverty trap with LED flashing lights stuck on it.

It's because their predictions are filtered through assumptions built on climate change models, plus a certain amount of the summer equivalent of snow-ramping. They're not only predicting storms that don't happen, but missing storms that do. In the last month, I've seen two roll in on days when we're supposed to be dry and sunny, or sunny with showers. Belting rain and lightning wasn't even remotely predicted.

The fact is this: the MET is a propaganda outfit. Their primary aim isn't to predict the weather, but to prove that global climate change is real. They are deliberately siting weather stations to catch spurious temperature spikes so they can declare ever higher temperature records. The knock-on effect is that all of their weather models are fed unreliable data, bounded by climate beliefs that don't actually hold. You can get a better weather forecast by just phoning someone in Cork and asking what the weather's doing there.

it finally happened, what is the best way to bypass this ID shite without VPN?.
Unless you're trying to use a sensitive site that already knows who you are, like your bank, you should be using a zero-log VPN one hundred percent of the time.

Play Ojo always makes me angry. It's clearly tranny shit the the logo is supposed to be a dick and balls.
Strangely enough, my team had a player called Ojo a few years back.

He was dick and balls as well, could not believe he was ever a former Liverpool player.

Wanted to come back to this.

The cope I've seen about it is that it's merely a mediation service, using shariah courts the same way beth din courts are used, and of course nobody complains about those, right? They're just mediation, without any legal impact.

Except they fucking well have a legal impact! There's two branches of formalised mediation in this country, both of which have some direct connection to a legal process.

The one most people tend to interact with is community mediation, in which people in a protracted dispute are referred to a mediations service in lieu of more formal legal proceedings. Think neighbour disputes over boundaries or conflicts over general differences of behaviour, like someone rattling the bins at three in the morning when everyone is trying to bloody well sleep. That sort of thing. (Incidentally, some amazing outcomes can come from this sort of mediation that create a real sense of community, but that's not relevant to the discussion right now). The point is that it most often stems from a protracted dispute where the police or legal authorities are liable to become involved if things progress.

The other is direct, court-mandated mediation during legal proceedings.

In both cases, the mediation service is generally chosen by the participants, though the courts will often mandate a particular service that they feel might be most appropriate tot he particulars of the case. And, in both cases, the outcome of the mediation is legally binding. It is a contractual agreement between the parties, framed in terms of mutual benefit, but a contract nontheless, with one of the conditions in the former case being that a breach risks legal proceedings, while in the latter case a breach will result in the courts imposing a legal decision. In either case, it is a delegation of legal responsibility and process to a subsidiary organisation. Mediation through "religious courts" is a legal process with all of the impacts that you would expect. mediation through a shariah court is the explicit acceptance of a that court's decision in the dispute, and because all good muslims will abide by the rulings of their religious courts, it is the explicit approval of the state for muslims to be governed by a parallel legal system.

And yes, it's the same with beth din. They are parallel social institutions.

I use mulvad. Surprisingly easy to set up, though I'm compromising myself somewhat by proxying to it (with foxyproxy and tab containers) rather than setting my whole system to use it. Not quite at the paranoid state of using a separate VM with a fully integrated VPN yet, but I'm getting there...

I did enjoy watching Lady Scrounger have the look of absolute disgust. She despises Starmer on every tangible level. Once he is out, expect her to wreak vengeance. Trump is playing an interesting game of handing him his own rope and making himself like stupid purposefully. It's interesting because Churchill did this a lot, too, where he would "respect" the person hosting him, but behind closed doors would play games.

Farage has already discussed repealing the online safety bill and previously wanted to do away with Ofcom. Starmer is caught in a nasty place now, he has Corbyn is initiating a mass defection of Labour MPs, weakening his position. His free speech crushing is giving Reform a ton of real estate, which also fucks with the Tories.

I suspect Farage knows a GE is coming, as he is starting to appoint people to their respective cabinet roles. If Corbyn's party peels a ton of members, which I foresee happening. Starmer has not cottoned on to how much he is hated by his party. I predict that Corbyn is going to gain 200 MPs, I know I sound dumb, but I can see it.

I recommend Mulvad too, I used it before, and I am only not doing so because one of my packages has a VPN built in.

How many brown MPs does labour have? If it is the muslim party you can expect them all to jump ship.

Brown and Black - expect Rushana Ali, Dawn Butler London types etc. to all go over to 'Your Party'.

There would be enough defections (the biggest on record) to ensure that Labour swiftly become a minority party.

They'd get a good number of voters and possibly a few seats as well IF they can see off Lib Dems, Greens and Independents.

Would they challenge Reform UK? Perhaps not and if a GE is close then it's too soon for them to get more than 20 seats (even that's not guaranteed). However, if it's the start of a return to Benn-ite Socialism then I would applaud that.

The landscape is changing around us very quickly.

Farage has already discussed repealing the online safety bill
And the cattle are mad at him for wanting to do so.
Nigel going for the w nker vote. Classy as always.
Why are Farage and Yusuf in favour of children seeing pornography on the internet ? Does that turn them on ? What would they say if an asylum seeker showed porn to kids ?
He's a bit all over the place these days, old Nige, isn't he.
Farage is perhaps concerned that the new rules will constrain his ability to incite a race war, which seems to be the main thing he cares about.
And perhaps constrain his supporters spreading misinformation from all corners of the globe.
I don’t understand where Farage is coming from at all. Why would you repeal a bill which protects children from harmful online content?

This is like saying that children should be able to buy whatever publications newsagents sell, on the grounds that it stops them finding something worse online.

I don’t see Farage getting many votes from this stance, outside perhaps of some very online culture warriors.
How much are the tech companies offering you Nige. There’s no way on earth you’re spouting this dung in order to serve the British public’s best interests. You’ve either got shares in pornhub, are a regular user of it, Zuckerberg has promised a donation or, all of the above.
All the Farage fans are livid, livid that they have to resort to going and hanging round by playgrounds in their long coats again. They'd got used to the convenience of the internet. If you're worried about political suppression of free speech, probably focus more on the governments attempts to crush musicians for criticising genocide, or the police arresting people as terrorists for holding placards with private eye cartoons on them, or other actual real instances of it. But, Farage et al don't actually support free speech, which is why you won't see him speaking up about them.
Dystopian ? Complete overblown hogwash that evades reality - the aim is not some Orwellian plot to suppress opposition - but to help prevent teenage boys at my daughters’ school think that gangbanging a model on OnlyFans is somehow normal behaviour. People forget that we have never ever had an unfettered “freedom of speech” and that legal acccess to hardcore pornography is a recent thing. The problem with the law is not the rubbish spouted by Farage but the fact that we have spent countless legislative hours coming up with something that is useless and takes no account of technology capabilities. It takes about 30 seconds to use a VPN to bypass all the technical blocks. Most teenagers will be familiar with this from using VPNs to get Netflix content that is not available in the UK. What would be totally dystopian is then banning VPNs as they do in China. Don’t fall for the police state nonsense being propagated particularly by JD Vance and Elon Musk given that their idea of free speech is clearly any viewpoint that doesn’t oppose them (and if it does you’ll be deported or fired).

I'm actually going to fucking scream.

I'm actually going to fucking scream.
Such is life where there are so many nigger cattle that do deserve to die. Don't try and bring your demoralization efforts here though, burger boy.

You will see 50 Ladbrokes in a row down the street and you WILL enjoy it.

I said a day or so ago about how it's strange how gaming and streaming services aren't requesting proof of age? Looks like I was wrong by a day or two. Xbox is verifying accounts, which ultimately means they'll start rolling it into Windows which means it looks like I'll have to move to fucking LINUX which I fucking hate with all my heart.

At Xbox, we’re committed to providing players with a safe and secure experience on our platform. Since launching our first ever gaming console that could connect players online in 2005, we’ve continued to invest in state-of-the-art tools and technologies to protect the Xbox community. Over more than two decades of experience, we’ve developed a multifaceted safety, privacy, and security approach that features built-in safety measures, respects player privacy, and empowers players, parents, and caregivers to have control over their gaming experiences.

We frequently iterate on these safety measures in collaboration with our community, publishing partners, and industry regulators to ensure we’re providing our players with the safest possible experience. Beginning today, as part of our compliance program for the UK Online Safety Act and our ongoing investments in tools and technologies that help ensure age-appropriate experiences, players who indicate their account age as 18 and over, based in the UK, and signing into an Xbox experience with a Microsoft account will begin seeing notifications encouraging them to verify their age. This one-time process for players in the UK ensures we can continue to provide all players on our platform with age-appropriate experiences.

Starting early next year, age verification will be required for these players in the UK to retain full access to social features on Xbox, such as voice or text communication and game invites. Players who don’t verify their age between now and early 2026 can continue to play and enjoy Xbox. However, starting early next year, their use of social features on Xbox will become limited to friends only until they complete the age verification process. Whether a player verifies their age will not affect any previous purchases, entitlements, gameplay history, achievements, or the ability to play and purchase games, however we encourage players to verify their age via this one-time process now to avoid uninterrupted use of social features on Xbox in the future.
QR code for age verification process in the UK

Adults in the UK can begin the age verification process now on their mobile device by scanning the QR code to then left, or by clicking this link: https://aka.ms/XboxUKAgeVerification

Players who prefer to verify via web can begin the process by signing into their Microsoft account at https://aka.ms/XboxUKAgeVerification.

There are several easy and secure methods for age verification that players can choose from, including proof of government-issued ID, age estimation, mobile provider check, and credit card check. The information players provide during the age verification process is protected with industry-standard encryption and is not stored or used for any other purpose. Additional information about the age verification process, including step-by-step instructions, the options players have for verifying their age, and how player data is kept private and secure, is available at aka.ms/XboxUKAgeSupport.

The Future of Safety at Xbox Globally

As this age verification process rolls out across the UK, we’ll continue to evaluate how we can keep players around the world safe and learn from the UK process. We expect to roll out age verification processes to more regions in the future. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to player safety, so these methods may look different across regions and experiences. We’ll work with local communities, publishing partners and regulators to determine the right approach that both respects player privacy and doesn’t take away from the Xbox gameplay experience. We’ll continue to communicate the changes we’re making to our practices and the data we collect so we can better protect players on our platform.

Additional Resources

We encourage parents and caregivers of children or teens who use an Xbox console to set up child or teen accounts, which do not require age verification and allow them to manage gaming activities like screentime, spending limits, privacy and content settings, and more using the Xbox Family Settings app. You can learn more at www.xbox.com/en-US/family-hub or check out the Xbox Gaming Safety Toolkit to read more about how caregivers can support safer gaming.

Cutting gamers off without verification? Oh boy, I don't think seeing their family raped to death by Pakis is cruel ENOUGH.

Welp that didn't take long

UK plans to ban VPN's after skyrocketing use seen

Yup, after the commies of the UK government has made the Internet safe for the kiddies they are now upset because people are using VPN's to bypass OfComm's new rules set and if it's one thing Starmer hates it's when the plebs don't do as they're told.

The Britbong elites are already writing up a bill that would outlaw VPN's for "private" use. So that just means the plebs can't have one but of course they the elites are free to keep using them for the their child porn hunting and other unsavoury habits.

What a great time in British History! Free at last from the tyranny of freedom of thought, freedom of expression and freedom of choice. What a time to be alive!!

Don't know if anyone will find this actually useful, but it's funny:

Reddit and Discord’s UK age verification can be defeated by Death Stranding’s photo mode

Enforcement of the UK’s new online safety rules started on Friday, forcing a variety of platforms to roll out mandatory age verification tools for Brits. We already know that the age-gating checks are easy to bypass with a VPN, but what we didn’t know is that the face scanning tools used by platforms like Reddit and Discord can also be easily bypassed with Death Stranding’s photo mode.
Dany Sterkhov alerted the world to the Death Stranding bypass on Friday morning, and gamers have been using the photo mode and Sam Bridges to trick face scanning tools into accepting them as an adult all weekend. All you have to do is point your phone at your monitor with Death Stranding open, activate the in-game photo mode, and then get Sam to look at the camera.
I used this technique on Discord and the face scanning verification (k-ID) asked me to open and close Sam’s mouth, so I obliged using the facial expressions in the photo mode. I did the same thing on Reddit, but this time the face scanning tool (Persona) asked me to move Sam’s face around, so I panned the camera around until it was accepted. Both were completed within seconds, and it was unbelievably easy to bypass these age checks.
Discord uses the k-ID face verification service, while Reddit uses the Persona service. Both services were fooled by the virtual Sam Bridges. I tried to bypass Bluesky’s age verification, which uses the Yoti service, and it failed with the virtual Sam Bridges. Yoti says Instagram will also use its facial age estimation technology as an option “for people who need to prove they are over 18.”
This bypass not only lets adults verify as an adult on multiple services, but it also lets you avoid sharing your face or credit card details with yet another third-party company. It also means you don’t have to pay for a VPN service to continuously bypass these age checks, as long as the service you want to access offers a face scanning option that falls victim to the virtual Sam Bridges.

Fuck. I wonder if Gmod or SFM would suffice...

The way things are going, it won't be long until they legit introduce this thing. Facial recognition just won't be enough for these clowns in parliament.

And of course it'll be getting used for more than just wanking, it'll be your pass to be able to access the internet altogether. You know what that will mean too.

wanking.webp
