A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I was asking because I didn't see anything about it on the news. Last time, when there were those protests where Starmer basically called white people "right-wing terrorists" and people got arrested, it showed up on the news a lot. Even though my country has nothing to do with the UK. The only thing I saw was that guy that ran over a bunch of people over football.
I think since then the narrative has changed within the general population - it's not just the Far Right who hate Starmer, it's now the Left as well and because they aren't happy with him the BBC and other nudge units, desperate not to lose them, are reporting on this.

The BBC cannot make the childish error of saying that 'everybody who doesn't like Starmer is literally Far Right, as there's loads of socialists, independents, radicals (Free Palestine etc.) who want him gone.

They've got to at least be seen as caring/impartial if only to not lose more viewers and listeners - the revenue loss since Defund The BBC started has hurt them immensely and the reputational damage of Saville and Edwards is going to haunt them for a long time, maybe until their hopefully forthcoming death knell.

It's just really really funny how Starmer is scoring lower in opinion polls than Sunak when he was at his lowest, and yet there's not a peep from the BBC about low opinions. Even the Civil Service who had people outright refusing to work on the Rwanda shit are just grumbling and begrudgingly carrying out whatever he says.

And yet every leftist will claim that the BBC is a far right hugbox.

Actually it might have kicked things off, as I know that Cardiff and Swansea had well attended protests.

Despite Left/Right differences, no reported trouble and TBF BBC Wales did report on them and not cover them up 'on Starmer's orders'.

Change feels like it's coming.
Several years back I watched a live stream of a protest against vaccine passports down in London. Thousands showed up.

At one stage there was a bus which had oh-so conveniently broken down in middle of road parked at an angle. Everyone just parted along the middle and walked right past it. No burning, cos we're not fucking dirty gyppoes in Leeds. Just ignored it.

It was fucking beautiful to see.

Labour's new renationalised train service is already off the rails completely!

its okay, I admit openly that my friend works at Hooters
Liverpool still has Hooters?

The Cardiff one shut down years ago, was always targeted by militant feminists along with the Coyote Ugly bar.

'Showing boobs is rape culture!' - I still remember one of the angry salty vagina clique screaming that.

Well intended, but won't work out as planned - often having disasterous condequences for those it was meant to help.
Oink oink you capitalist pig. People like you will be first up against the wall.

I think communism would have been taken up quite enthusiastically here if the ruling classes ever wanted it. The Nanny State and informing on your friends and neighbours (see: covid, local facebook groups) are popular past times in Britain.

Home ownership is a huge factor in overall happiness scoring, which I personally think is a more important metric to measure a successful country against than GDP.

Currently, about 60% of home owners had help from parents to put down a deposit. What happens when the 40% of people who don't own a home becomes 50%, then 60% in 20 years? Yet more state expenditure to keep people (most of them not even native) housed, homed and fed.

I have one house which we live in, but I don’t have an issue with the kind of rental stuff that’s like;
- we own a house, I’ve been stationed abroad for a few years, I want to keep the house, we will rent it out.
- your gran left us a house, the kids will have it when they grow up, until then we keep it and rent it out.
People who do that kind of renting tend to keep the place in good nick and want you to take care of it too. I rented off that sort of landlord before and it was far, far better than the kind of dodgy Pakistani slumlords we also had as students. Student rentals included mould, and general falling apart properties, really grim, and we were good tenants (quiet, clean etc.)

The bloke standing isn't the driver. That bit of yellow next to him is a police car, which he seems to have been fucking around in during the parade.

Fucking obvious that the driver isn't the guy they were flashing across the media though.
Anyone else finding this particular incident overly glowing?
Seen another video on x of them bundling someone hidden into a riot van before panning to them restraining an older white bloke. Very odd.

After the bad news of yesterday, I take it we can all do with a laugh or a pick-me-up.

Therefore, I present to you the retard called 'Cycling Mikey' getting hit by a car.

(For those of you who don't know, 'Cycling Mikey' is a lolcow, bully - threatened female drivers on more than one occasion if he believes they've cut him up etc. and a 'permanent victim' who hates car drivers and reports anybody he doesn't like to the Police, even if they've not committed a road traffic offence).

Also... Bonnie Blue gets kicked out of the West Bridgford Stand during Nottingham Forest's last game of the season against Chelsea.

Plus, Miriam The Gargoyle-Margoyles 'hasn't got long left to live':

I'm convinced it's a false flag and distraction against Starmer and his sausage factory antics.

There's a hilarious BBC News article about "Why police were so quick to release information about suspect". It literally says we did this because it was a white British male. But people SHOULDN'T make the inference that when we DON'T release the information quickly that it's because the suspect is a paki immigrant called Mohammed.

No reason is given for why we shouldn't make that inference, but they do end the article with a quote from Helen King, former assistant commissioner or the Met Police: "There will be times when police can confirm quickly. There are other times when it is unclear. These will always be complex and sensitive decisions".

Thanks Helen!

It's because she'd previously filmed herself giving blowjobs to men in the stadium's toilets, and then got banned after advertising for more Johns
"I recently went to a Nottingham Forest game. Well, I attempted to," she disclosed on the OnlyStans podcast last month.
Announcing her plans on social media, she told followers, "I put on my socials, 'hey boys, I'm going to be at the game, I'd like to film with you afterwards'. I turn up at the football game and the gate security was like, 'you are permanently banned from the ground. I thought when they asked me to go to the side, 'maybe they're upgrading my tickets, maybe they want to escort me to my seat, this is quite nice, it's a good service'."
However, her optimism was short-lived as she continued: "They asked to see my tickets, I showed them and they took them off me, saying, 'we're escorting you off the premises'."
Speaking on her ban on OnlyStans, she added: "I was going to encourage them (the players), give them a good time. I also think if I'm entertaining the supporters it's less people drinking so I'm actually doing something good for their health."
Knowing she was banned, she snuck into the stadium in disguise.
Finally clearing up the truth, Bonnie told the Daily Star: "I played hide and seek with the Nottingham Forest security officers, the first one to find me gets to bonk me." It's understood that escorting her out of the stadium was the only action that took place that fateful Sunday.
There is something deeply, deeply wrong with this woman (most likely molested by her stepdad who does promos for her, and her mother who acts as her brothel-maid).

100% in agreement, she'll go too far one day and either end up hospitalised or worse.

No surprises as the Met. Police won't take action against 'antisemite' Gary Lineker:

They released such little information so badly that they've turned a good chunk of the country (especially me) into conspiracy theorists. They're Southporting it all over again.

I can fix her.
