A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Still not convinced there's some sinister blackmail shit on Starmer, I think he's just a complete fucking retard who is completely out of his depth. Which says something considering the PM is largely a figurehead for the government.

He has no spine, no actual policies for himself and seems to be a nice easy to mold government tool which would be fantastic if the government was in any way competent.

Perfect man for the job as far as Sir Humphrey and the Civil Service are concerned. None of that silly "will of the people" nonsense to get in the way of crucial decisions being made.

At this rate, Starmar might aswell give back the fucking falklands lol.
Starmer is a human rights lawyer i.e. The exact person fucking up the UK by submitting to supranational jurisdiction and other stupid shit. He and Blair's whole goal is to dismantle the entire pre 1997 British state and rebuild it into the "managed democracy" open society that technocrats love because they don't understand why Hitler came into power only that he was populist.

He was paying tribute to Blackadder.
He forgot the pencils.

Oh no no, the PM's office is immensely powerful, generally bypassing ministers entirely to communicate directly with their permanent secretaries and "suggest" the direction to be taken by various quangos. It's often the case that a minister will be informed by his permanent secretary that he has introduced legislation at the behest of the cabinet office, at which point he has to go out and announce it as if he was the originator. It used to be that ministers would introduce legislation after discussion and coordination with the PM, or even off their own bat if it was already in line with the general policy direction the party was taking, but now the PM's office just does it for them. Much simpler to have a dictatorial council do all the hard work of thinking.

Starmer is a figurehead, puppeted by his campaign manager it seems, but the office of Prime Minister has accrued so much power in the last 20 years that it may as well be renamed Grand Vizier.

Sure, but mechanically, what is actually going to happen? That's my issue with the idea of labour getting the boot. In order to actually get rid of a Prime Minister, they have to either step down, or be forced out. Starmer I don't think can comprehend doing something other than more of what he's already doing; and the rest of the party are cowardly retards. It's sort of a catch-22. Either they know how fucked up everything is, and know that if they do a no confidence, they will implode their party and be out of the job, or they don't and in that case; why would they blow up their party when they already won?
EDIT: My basic issue, is that the government has nakedly been operating on the logic of "If they don't STOP me doing it, I'm going to do it." for a while now. I don't see why they'd change that purely so they can just lose their jobs.
Hmm, well there is a potential big rebellion on the horizon with a lot of the 'Woke' Labour MP's angry about the Migration & Borders Bill and this has them in a Catch-22 situation as well:

* Back Starmer and be seen as racist/not 'Woke' and then the angry Left will pillory them.
* Don't back Starmer, be seen as 'Woke' but lose the party whip.

I don't believe that the Far Right will have to do much to bring Starmer down - his main adversaries are now his own team. Remember how he knelt for BLM and said all those nice things whilst as Leader of the Opposition, and now he's disregarding them and forgetting he ever did that - well, Pepperidge Farm remembers... and one thing the violent Left don't take too kindly to is being back-stabbed.

Mechanically, I would say that it depends on the following:

* The amount of irreparable damage Starmer is causing to the party (and will cause if left in position).
* The amount of Labour MP's who are prepared to oppose him, even if it means they'll lose the whip and have to stand as Independents.
* Whether the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP) is happy to play second fiddle to Starmer's globe-trotting and brown-nosing - if they are, they too are complicit and are not acting in the interests of the people.
* The people of the UK realising that MP's serve at their behest - if Starmer is doing a bad job, and not serving us the electorate in a good enough way, like any bad servant he should be sacked by his REAL Masters... US.
* If Starmer faces a VONC or Hung Parliament, will he go to the country out of spite? If he does, why should that bother him - he's a rich man and if he has to leave office he'll ensure that Labour are never again electable because that is what pompous narcissts do.
* Whether or not the Unions are prepared to have Starmer as leader - not all of them are (NEU, Unison, Unite and a few others vehemently oppose him).
* If the Lib Dems and Greens gather more support and if Reform UK and Nigel become an object too insurmountable, then he at least will be told 'this isn't working, you have to go'... this then goes back to (*5) above and the VONC.

They are supposed to be playing a festival in Brockwell Park(London) tomorrow. Can see it causing a stampede/crush type incident if the police go to arrest them while on stage. If they arrest them before then thousands of people might kick off about not having a headline act.
Per the article
Ó hAnnaidh is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 18
So neither of these scenarios will happen. The challenge is whether or not Kneecap are trying to get a gig arranged for that date so they can act like it did happen.

McDonalds put a turd in a tortilla.

I thought that was one of their chicken something or anothers. All the chicken at maccies comes from Thailand. I would recommend avoiding. Though maccies is vile on general.

Also I get the bus to and from work (I have a medical condition which means I cannot drive). What the fuck is with niggers not being able to get off the bus in a timely manner? They sit right at back or up top and ding the bell and don't even stand up til the bus has completely stopped.

I asked ChatGPT for some advice, hope this helps.

Eluned Morgan (Leader of Wales) is worried that Starmer's migration plans will damage Wales:

Rumours are that Westminster want her gone.

Also, the Telegraph (Torygraph) is to be sold:

Plus, Mary Glindon (Labour MP for Newcastle upon Tyne East and Wallsend) signs Rupert Lowe's Early Day Motion (EDM) calling for Lucy Connolly to be freed from prison:

Will this mean that Starmer withdraws the whip from her? Could we be about to see the cracks in the party widening?

Good. It is disgraceful she’s there on the first place.
