A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Exactly, though this white paper does nothing because it does not even deal with ILLEGAL immigration. 82 pages of waffle. He does not even want to leave the ECHR, which is one of Reform's election points, proving that all this is a pantomime.

Good, his homes should be destroyed

I concur, the BBC is sperging out over the blaze at Chez Starmer - one of Trump, Farage, Putin, Tommy Robinson, Mr. Blobby or Zippy from Rainbow to blame for sure.

Elsewhere, this caught my eye: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c39xkevzrdvt

Ringleader of Bulgarian spy cell jailed for 10 years 8 months

'The ringleader of a Bulgarian spy cell, Orlin Roussev, is jailed for 10 years and 8 months over spying for Russia.

Bizer Dzhambazov, Katrin Ivanova, Vanya Gaberova, Tihomir Ivanov Ivanchev, and Ivan Stoyanov have also been sentenced to between five and 10 years.

The cell's key targets were journalists who helped expose Russia's role in the nerve agent attacks on Putin critic Alexei Navalny and ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal.

The spy ring referred to themselves as the "minions", inspired by the Despicable Me children's film franchise.'

He can’t even run. The absolute state of these people.

Is the fire ok?
I certainly hope so!

Fire - the Superhero of the year!

'I didn't mean to start a fire, but then I got high
And the flames are jutting higher, because I got high
I've got to bunk down with Lord Alli, and I know why (why man, hey hey!)
Because I got high, because I got high, because I got high...'

If reform are winning come next election, Labour and Tories will form a coalition to stop them. You can take that to the bookies.
Post a screenshot of your bet right now or you're a faggot and I hereby ban you from Greggs until the election happens.

Thanks doc.

This one wasn't so bad - he was responding to different individual posts. His left wing memes of infamy were all on one subject, exceedingly boring. He's still a bit verbose, but he got a LOT better very quickly.
We have to use a VPN to access this site because Null chose to block UK ip addresses, presumably to make a point. OFCOM has literally no power over him or his site and can't enforce any fines against him.
They clearly do have power over him because he caved instantly. Remember what he said to NZ? Notice how you can still watch the Christchurch video on this site?
Kek. Rapefugee steals phone gone wrong :cunningpepe:
Is that the fencing response? Who knew that GP stood for "Get Punched".

I think you're being more realistic than optimistic, all sides despise Labour which is unique in Government history as usually one side will at least be broadly supportive.

Do the Wokes/FBPE support Labour? No, they consider Starmer to be too Right-Wing.

Do most Centrists support Labour? No, as above, they consider Starmer to be too Right-Wing.

How about Welsh and Scottish Independents? No, not at all.

Therefore, who exactly does support this Government? Even among hardcore Europhiles and Lefties, none of them want Starmer to stay on because he won't respect trans people or he isn't doing enough to re-join the EU etc.

We therefore have a Government nobody wants which is actively working against BOTH Left and Right.

That isn't a Government, it is a dictatorship.
It's funny, last week I mentioned Kier was fucked, he couldn't go any further left, right or remain on the same path or he'd be crucified. He's somehow managed to pick the worst choice of all because now he's unironically pitching policies that are more right wing than the fucking Conservatives.

There's going to be a fucking MUTINY at the next local elections and honestly I see an absolute spergout from within the Labour party over the next fortnight where he's given a vote of no confidence, which is even funnier because it'd show that Labour disagrees with the majority public opinion that immigration is out of hand, fucking them even further.

Kier Starmer is somehow in a more 'dead' position than fucking Rishi Sunak when he forced the early election despite having a huge fucking majority. It's insanity.

He states plainly why he put up the block on his info page. It's not because he's worried they'll reach into his wallet (they literally can't; he can just tell them to fuck off because he has no financial presence in the UK), but because he fears the state will track visitors to the site and arrest them.

I can understand the confusion. He put the ban in place because he cares about the UK users of this site, despite asserting for years on MATI, Twitter and the forum that he hates us.

We love you too Null.

To defend him I believe that hatred largely stems from one particular cow nakedly abusing our legal system to harass him and his family to a heinous degree with impunity. So the hatred is more our underlying system and that the wider population have not risen up to string up our overlords.

Making us use a VPN to access Kiwi Farms should be mandatory for every user. He's just now ensured people in the UK optimistic enough to still believe that posting on here isn't enough to get a police visit are taking precautions, even unwillingly.

Hmm, no I'm going to disagree. I've heard him respond to that on MATI. He's said that people, like yourself, lay the blame if his Anglo phobia at the feet of Vordrak. But no, he literally and sincerely hates all of us, with the honourable exception of possibly Caroline Farrow (fair enough imo).

Not that I'm really complaining though. Sometimes the Tor browser is slow, or doesn't work. But I'd rather read my favourite Greggsposters' views that way than go to prison for saying "nigger" too many times (i.e. ever).

No, he just hates the British lmao. Sometimes you just hate, it is what it is.

Just heard a guy on the high street turn to his mates and say "Oi, come on, Nandos - yes or no".

Something about it just tickled me. The seriousness of the question. But at the same time, I understand the underlying anxiety: it's now or never guys. Either we get food now at a sensible time, or the evening just degenerates into going to every single pub along this street and a disaster of a kebab around kicking out time. We'll all regret it tomorrow.

I didn't hear the answer. But based on my own past I would guess that they never went to Nandos in the end.
