A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If Labour are actively fucking with the count in local elections, they absolutely will do so when it comes to a general.

I would urge all of you to look into attending the count,as is your right, or into being one of the counters, if you can. The latter being better as you can ensure it's done properly and pick up on any discussion of planned wrong doing.

This has been caught out at one local election. It shows what Labour will do to stay in power.
> Recruit ballot counters from the public sector
> Public sector heavily unionised
> Mostly union members count ballots
> Unions fund Labour

I'm sure all counts are safe and fair.

Tl;dr elderly fag "couple" hire black porn star for "extreme sex", wind up decapitated.
That article is hilariously written. Very dry
Denies murder
-on film having sex with them
-on film killing one of them
-google search full of ‘how do I kill these guys/ what’s their house worth/‘
-takes suitcase with bodies into train
-caught with a suitcase dripping blood about to chuck it off Clifton suspension bridge
Id say that’s fairly cut and dried but this is the universe of clowns so let’s see what the court decides.

@>IMPLYING is right, and Labour have a track record of cheating if they can't win fairly.

4000 extra votes for Mark Drakeford 'turned up' late in Cardiff West during the Senedd/Welsh Elections of 2021, conning Propel's Neil McEvoy out of rightfully having a Senedd seat because this would have made Welsh Labour a minority party (but still the largest in the Senedd) and therefore unable to pass legislature.

I would not be surprised if they tried to dump Labour votes late at Runcorn & Helsby, but in any case the DEI hires failed.

Next GE, get the Army in to count votes.

No access to ANY Political Parties or Media, the soldiers are told 'count the votes and put your feelings aside - this is for the country'.

They'll have until 7am on the Friday to count and recount until they are happy, and once all the counts have been made the next PM will go to Buckingham Palace. The people won't be told the results until 11am and there will be a media blackout online and in the MSM.

I'd love to see Labour try and boss the Army's top brass around... it won't start or end well.

It's nice that some patriotism is still alive in this country. Many flags and street parties are planned in my town, which is very heart-warming.

I don't think they did. It's clear Labour believed they were going to easily win the by-election. It's historically one of the safest Labour seats in the country, for starters, so they reckoned they were competing with a built-in advantage. The party is also stuck in a very legalistic and technocratic view of how the world works, largely thanks to Starmer installing people who think like he does in every position he could fill. In their thinking, the previous MP resigning should have fixed the problem, because it was the right thing to do, and so people should automatically accept that the problem is fixed and reward Labour with their votes. They also seem to believe, thanks to their commons majority and the media-political bubble in which they exist, that the majority of the country aligns with their politics and supports their decisions, so in combination with following the rules and having a numbers advantage to begin with, they had no need to cheat.

I know people like to suggest getting the army in to do every job from fire fighters to bin men to doctors when anything goes wrong but it only partly works with fire fighters as they are probably one of the least numerous types of employment and are mostly doing training drills and waiting on call so short periods of only responding to emergency calls can be done with lower numbers of staff, like you could cut fire fighters by 90% today if they stopped training/drills/extras but it wouldn't be good in the long run, the times it's happened have also been in peacetime so deploying troops to fire stations wasn't pulling them away from deployments.

The GE count(and staffing all the polling stations so you aren't just counting box after box of fake votes entering the system) is a huge undertaking and I can't see the army having the numbers for it.

Most of the election fraud in recent years has been postal vote fraud where they register fake people in the area and then generate huge numbers of postal votes. I think if they did some spot checks to just verify people exist then it would catch them.

Happens every year in my place courtesy of the diversity of course, my local politics buddies are proper angsty about it but nothing ever gets done because the golden excuse is "whoops didn't mean too tee hee". The good news is; they do always get caught, it's a bit of a pointless practice because of the hawk-eyes observers, mostly pissed-up granddads but a fairly strong contingent of student radicals off both ends of the spectrum too.

This is how certain wards end up with 1000 voootes for adbul goatfucker while Linda Sendemback gets about 12, they don't even bother standing in certain places most of the time because of the postal fuckery anyway which makes the botched cheating all the more silly, it's literally their culture.
I don't think the yts ever try and pull the ballot-dump trick but the literal-actual commies who have-the-badges-to-prove-it do have a nasty habit of photo bombing tier petty disruption just to make us lose sleep, which is why there's never a decent video record of anything, tossers.

If Reform take the Senedd I propose it is renamed to the Sneededd.

Fair play, the main thing is to not allow any fraudulent activity to take place.

Postal votes need to be policed better.

The real voter fraud is letting anyone that isn't ethnically British vote, but ho-hum.
This is exactly what Lib Dem MP Wera Hobhouse (Bath) wants.

Her comments have gone down in the Roman City like a plate of AIDS - not well, even with the mostly woke Middle-Upper Classes there.

Hobhouse is likely to be replaced with an Independent at the next GE, as none of the other parties are popular in Bath; The Greens (who run the Council there) have priced people out of visiting, Hobhouse doesn't give a damn about the electorate and Reform UK only have minimal support in poorer parts of the constituency.

Remember the Landlord chap who booted Starmer out of his Pub? He's said to be standing at the next GE as an Independent for Bath, and I for one hope he wins (Reform UK have no chance of success in Bath, but an Independent winning would be hilarious and a firm middle finger to Hobhouse and the wokes).

Cheating and still losing? They’re turning into the Dwain Chambers of politics.
It's a hefty factor in why I find them losing chunks of Lancashire to Reform more than deserved. Losing that seat made little major difference to them at the time but despite that they could not even muster a half-hearted critique of one of their own pulling a move like that. If they want to cheat their way to victory and force the tax-payer to foot the bill to oust them they deserve as big a kick to the backside as possible.

The biggest political cheat that I can recall is when Carmarthen allegedly voted 'YES' for a Welsh Parliament in 1997 despite the numbers being sketchy.

The powers-that-be wanted a Welsh Parliament and it's only thanks to a dodgy vote (the last place to declare) that Wales got the Senedd Shitshow.

You and @FedPostalService are spot on with the comments about Labour, and they deserve the hatred and wrath of the people.

To big to rig. What’s going to happen now is they are going to to cheat harder.

Labour true believers and union mongs are the worst people on this earth. It’s their entire personality and they don’t believe anything they do is wrong.

I think the Tories were quiet on postal vote fraud and other shannanigans hoping they’d get the muzzies one day when Labour kept heading more progressive and it is destroying politics.

I know too many of these people but they can break the conditioning: Milk-Snatcher has been downstairs long enough some of the oldies are actually letting it go and finally admitting to having been voooting blu since 2016. The next generation of oldsters will have new and exciting prejudices and it'll all be about the Bliaring of Tony which shall only empower this trend.
Anybody interested in running a smokehouse in Colonsay, Inner Hebredies, Scotland?

Owner's giving it away for nothing.
This is some remake of The Wicker Man shit isn't it.

While we're talking about Labour fudging results let's not forget that a position they lost January last year they held onto by simply reading out the Labour candidate as the winner. This had to go all the way to court to resolve and they still tried shenanigans at the eleventh hour.

Remember that you not matter how much you hate Labour supporters/party members, you don't hate them enough.

Threatening to punch one in the mouth was one of the best things I ever did and by god I'll do it again.
