A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that maybe Mary Whitehouse was a bit right?
I bet she was filthy. Once the doors closed she got out the strap on and pegged Mr Whitehouse until he prolapsed.

I’m all for let them make this shite and if you don’t like it don’t watch it. The issue is we are supposed to pay for it whether we watch it or not.

Scrap the licence fee and this problem sorts itself out in no time.

Look at Sky News, they went from slightly based to the propaganda arm of Hope Not Hate and they’re on the verge of going bust.

Shout out to all the based TV Licence avoiders in the thread.

RE: the troon writer who works on Doctor Who. I couldn't tell you how any of my colleagues or friends like to fuck. I have no idea what turns them on or what they like.

Why do we have to know how these porn sick degenerate men like to have sex?

Make shame and privacy and decency great again. Nobody needs to know how you like to spaff your load. Nobody cares. It's not relavent and if you've made it part of your personality you should seriously consider killing yourself.
There are rules, amongst my friends anyway. This definitely falls into the category of oversharing ( made even worse by their degeneracy ). Lawrence from Office Space gets it.....

Hey, we can breathe a sigh of relief the tariffs would have come economically at the worst time. Personally, I think he is doing it to give the UK a bit of big dick energy in Europe. A good leader would have acted on this and doubled down signalling unity with Trump and honestly copying a few of his policies like the abolition of DEI in government workplaces along with deportation but we have Starmer. Someone with nothing politically insightful whatsoever but I could say the same for his cabinet. Yvette Cooper and Reeves are outright dangerous though.

Yea if he was smart he'd jump on the the oppurtunity to break bread with trump and work out some post brexit trade deal with him although i doubt that would happen without a few hefty concessions on our part.

Rayner as well. She surrounds herself with lickspittles from Unite.

A fun thought experiment for a Monday afternoon:

[I use non-white people in this example, not as racism, but because it's the easiest to visualise]

I would like you to think about and imagine all of the non-white people in your life; The family walking the street, abdul in his kebab shop, Patel in his corner shop, Xchiang in her nail salon, Umbongo selling crack to kids, maybe you have brown friends and brown family. Picture them, see them in your mind.

No imagine that they've all disappeared over night. It doesn't matter to where or why, all that matters is they are no longer here.

Walk through the scene from the first paragraph again, now without non-whites. Picture the empty shops and the streets devoid of mystery-meat johnny foreigners.
What do you see? How do you feel? Is this a better Britain, or a worse one?

Is it just me or does anyone else think that maybe Mary Whitehouse was a bit right? When it comes to coom addled degenerates if you give an inch they'll take a mile; that is what happened and this is where we are.
She was definitely right sometimes.

I saw a documentary about her.
One of her earlier campaigns was against the pornographic cinemas that were popping up around Soho. Of course, "pornographic cinema" is just slang for a puplic masturbatorium with dozens of men wanking themselves off. Imagine the smell. Very popular with perverts and gays, though.

Speaking of which, Peter Tatchell was the main talking head/narrator for this section. Pedo Tatchell loved to be surrounded by cum, so he fough Whitehouse with tooth, nail and cock.
There was a town hall meeting, and many conservative older ladies were assembled on the floor to complain about Sodom's arrival to the West End.
(Tatchell tells this next part with a true degenerate's smirk)
Dozens of gay men, led by Peter Tatchell, snuck onto the balconies and showered the old ladies with pages torn from hardcore gay porno mags. Which is a pretty gross thing to do to old ladies whose husbands were probably the only naked men they'd ever seen – and they'd certainly never seen their husbands pissing onto another mans distended arsehole.

She also led a successful campaign against P.I.E. co-authoring some kind of pedo porn/manual thing. She got one and a half million people to sign a petition to make CP officially illegal in the UK.
This was long before "signing a petition" meant nothing more than clicking a link shared on Twitter. She must have really put the effort in to get those numbers. So good on her for that.

And, as @FedPostalService mentioned, Mary was fucking filthy, but she saved her dirty side for the bedroom. People like Peter Tatchell and friends could learn something from her.

Maybe I am showing my age but I had no clue Tatchell was about same time as she was. Good on her for butting heads with him.

And I absolutely agree re: her bedroom antics. I don't care what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. It takes all kinds to make up this world and that extends to how people get their jollies. But she had the dignity to keep it private.

The gays,as in common with the pedo alphabet soup brigade don't get this. How you like to fuck isn't a substitute for a personality and it's beyond pathetic and tragic in equal measure that they have to make it so central to who they are.

I wonder if he was asked if they could use it? If he was and he agreed then he’s a gigantic faggot

No, she was completely right.
I can't find it but some of the 'funny' responses to the ticket prices thing last year were that it's all about the money, so is this.

Angela Rayner tried to block Prince Andrew from royal duties, book claims

The deputy prime minister reportedly contacted Buckingham Palace and senior civil servants in a bid to remove the disgraced Duke of York from a list of royals who could step in for the King

Expanding the list, which the Palace and Downing Street decided on as a diplomatic fix to avoid Andrew and Harry deputising for the King, required new legislation, which Ms Rayner would have been required to deliver a statement on and potentially to vote for.

While negotiations were ongoing, Ms Rayner reportedly walked into her office and told staff: “I’m not going to vote to keep that n**** on … I can’t go back to my constituency and say, yeah, I support that.”

The claim is the latest revelation in the upcoming book Get In by journalists Patrick Maguire and Gabriel Pogrund, which tells the story of the Labour Party under Sir Keir Starmer.

Lord Peter Mandelson kept up contact with Jeffrey Epstein until 2012, according to new emails published in London.

Newly published emails show that the incoming British ambassador to the U.S., Lord Peter Mandelson, kept in contact with Jeffrey Epstein until at least 2012—long after Epstein’s conviction on child sex offences—and stayed at his Manhattan townhouse on at least two occasions.

The emails, published in London as part of a legal case brought by a powerful former banker, also show that Prince Andrew stayed in contact with the deceased pedophile for longer than he previously claimed, sending Epstein an email saying he hoped the two could “play soon” months after he previously said contact had ceased.

Interesting twist.

Trump allegedly wanted to reject Mandy Pandy as ambassador, probably because he doesn't like the thought of touching those slimy hands. It's looking like he's used the appointment to force concessions out of Kier.

The biggest thing though will be Trump’s visit to the UK. Sources close to the president have made it clear he was offended that, unlike Barack Obama, he was not allowed to address a joint sitting of the Houses of Parliament. A major reason for that was objections led by Starmer, Lammy, and now minister for the Americas, Stephen Doughty.
A reversal of that position and a speech to the Commons and Lords now looks like it is on the cards.
There will also be agreements regarding Mandelson himself. As one source put it: “He will be kept on a short leash.”

It makes me wonder if he's going to use Mandelson's connections to Epstein as leverage to force further concessions at some point.

He was injured at All Saints Catholic High School, in Granville Road in the city, at about 12:17 GMT. Died a short time later
Amaan Ahmed, who manages the Castle Asian Community Trust near the school, said the area was no stranger to knife crime.
"If it can happen in a public place like a school, people will be worried about going to the park I think too,"
Paki says people scared to go to the park in case they get stabbed. I wonder which religion and race is the cause of the fear, eh, Ahmed?!

"dies after being stabbed"?

I'm sure the stabbing was a minor event and he later slipped in the shower or something. Why would they phrased it like that? It almost seems like they're trying to downplay the agency (and, perhaps, intent) of the murderer.

Amaan Ahmed, one of the managers at Castle Asian Community Trust and Mosque in nearby Norfolk Road, tells the PA news agency he has seen an increase in anti-social behaviour in the area, including cars "being stolen and vandalised".
(L)

Isn't it curious that they would ask a local Muslim community manager? Given that this happened at a Catholic school, can we assume that this was an altercation between a Catholic and Muslim boy, and that the BBC are pre-emptively running defence for Muslims?

This is the second time that All Saints Catholic High School on Granville Road has gone into lockdown in a week, according to the PA Media news agency.

"The reason for the lockdown was due to threatening behaviour between a small number of students where threats were made of physical violence," he said then.
(L)

Seems like this is a recurring issue... If only there was something that could be done to prevent this sort of thing.

Sheffield

Clearly the problem here is the cultural heritage of Sheffield steel and knife making. It is not enough to just get rid of the knives, we must also destroy the culture and traditions of this country.

On a completely unrelated note... This looks to be the area, if anyone is interesting in the local population statistics. ONS Census Map.

What did Starmer say to Trump to trump to not only avoid tariffs being placed on the UK, but also to get praise off of him which was mentioned in some other articles?
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cn4zgx808g7o
I think it's as likely that Trump is saying this to fuck with Keir. Being nice about him is going to cause more outrage with much less effort.
