A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Amazon replaced the library. Easier to order a book than go to the library to get it. Most don't have much funding any more and the ones that do have spent the last month hosting pride events. There's a lot of money in hosting parties for invaders and libraries and churches often do it to keep their doors open.

It's not a library, despite the name. It was rebuilt as a "community hub" last year, and while it does have a selection of books, its primary purpose is elsewhere. Most of the space was dedicated to meeting rooms, community information, ", creativity", computer access, and things of that nature.

The funny thing is that these "pride events" are full of asylum seekers now, as their lawyers encourage them to go "to prove that you're gay so the government can't deport you".
 
There are glowies at best, larpers at worst ITT. What they say, how they type, their frames of reference don't pass the sniff test.

Just like posh lads act like wide-boy chavs to gain street cred, and fail miserably, these larpers do the same.

I'll be stepping away from posting in these threads because I was close to PL'ing last night that I would have regret. It ain't worth the risk.

In other news Isarealladie is now power leveling about how she likes to take her kids to france for a couple of days when they're bored in the summer holidays. So the power leveling was real.

It's a lovely idea but there's a tonne of legality and bureaucracy and minimum investment that is required to start a bank. More viable to simply create some kind of Support Agency that has a pool of money that can be used for things likes emergency food, utilities, etc. of people affected.

Wouldn't be surprised to see it shut down by the govt. for "supporting terrorism", though. Antifa in the USA sometimes had "Legal" people in green caps on hand to intervene. But they could have that because they were funded by George Soros (not kidding - check out the "National Lawyers Guild".)

Look at some of my older comments about illegals in Cook and surrounding counties. I've never understood the following:

1. NIGGERS and BOONS love pulling the race card, but they never do it for shit like illegals yoinking their buildings.
2. NIGGERS and BOONS love violence. Yet, no violence is done to illegals.
3. NIGGERS and BOONS love destruction of property.

Yet, when a high school or community center is closed in the Chicago area, do the niggers and boons enact the Killdozer?
No.

KILLDOZER. Be a SHAME if that empty high school about to become another illegal warehouse burns down or the walls are knocked out! Whoops a daisy--gonna have to figure something else out!
