A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Farage hates the establishment and loves himself
He just fucking wormed his way back in, with full media backing, to try to take power away from the likes of Tommy Robinson, or, and it hurts to say - Carl "I will be wearing a suit" Benjamin.

He had no interest in anything nationalistic or against subcontinental migration - infact, he proudly boasted about supporting that. He banned everything to do with Robinson, and now that Robinson is on the upswing, he's throwing his weight in to take advantage of it.

Bizarrely, fucking Sargon of Akkad has blundered in, smugly chuckling as he does it.

Everything about Farage is just wrong. The man is propped up by every establishment out there, as @Overly Serious has said - they're very good at this, and very good at pushing their own, safe, version of events with the least plausible "charismatics" out there.

Now watch as Farage tries to push that same "Tory lite" angle, maintaining mass immigration, refusing to restore any of the rights we've lost, and refusing any kind of justice reform. I'm sure there are other "hard-lines" - the NHS is one, but I'd put that as a combination of Mass Immigration and Justice Reform. In short, this dude just blunders in and acts like he's owed something - seeking to take from what, and again, with no irony - Carl fucking Benjamin actually worked for.

The Conservatives have done nothing to change the politics of the Establishment
Not giving them enough credit there
  • Brought in gay marriage
  • Brought in no-fault divorce
  • Created record-high immigration
  • Changed immigration sources from vast-majority EU to vast-majority 3rd world
  • Illegal immigrant arrivals were essentially 0 before the Tories compared to the tens of thousands a year now
  • The march of the modern-day woke movement completely infesting the institutions of media and academia happened start to finish on their watch
  • Normalised the idea of locking people at home over an illness
  • Completely ignored the rape gang revelations
  • Completely ignored one of their own MPs being murdered by an Islamist terrorist
  • Their client papers like the Mail and Telegraph got significantly softer on immigration issues compared to before they took power (IMO)
  • Head and shoulders above other parties in terms of lack of ethnic Brits in the top positions. Still the only party in British history to have a mostly non-white cabinet, and a completely non-white-male one under Liz Truss
  • Talked just tough enough lies on illegals that the Overton window moved massively leftwards because people still think they are the Evil Extreme Right Wing party
What more could you ask for?

We're still in 14 years of a conservative government and you think the establishment isn't conservative?
The only thing the Conservative party has ever tried to conserve this century is the pension triple lock and year-over-year house price rises.

The centre right / establishment has always been pro-immigration (which leads to pro-diversity and pro-islam) because it's a source of a cheap workers.
Always? Then why has it got so much worse in the past few years? And why are there zero Conservatives openly advocating for immigration to be higher?

They're pro-technocracy because it eliminates the need for workers by automating everything.
You don't know what the word technocracy means.

They suggested brexit to quieten the far-right backbenchers but were happy to use it to bring in third world immigrants; that's not 'hates brexit'.
Far-right backbenchers?! The referendum was because they were spooked by Farage.

I don't disagree, I'll just add that, in reality, we won't get the reforms and changes we want without serious revolution and mass bloodshed. I, for all of my dislike for people, would much prefer to avoid the genocides, as inevitable as they may be, even though I'll be on the winning side. Whites won't be wiped out, we will be the ones pushing people into the ovens, as much as we may not want to, we know that we will need to, for the greater good(tm).

Farage may be controlled opposition, he may be whatever cuntish, twattish tory-lite smug prick that most believe he is. What he also is, is an apology, an acceptance by the elite that they've gone down the wrong path. He's employed and deployed to correct the course, without any ruling elites or members accepting that they have taken us down the wrong road. Doing that would be admitting that there is a unified plan and that democracy, voting and our ideas of a fair and just society are nothing but an illusion.

Oh yeah, that's part of what pisses me off about certain posters and their opinions.

Jews were targeted in the 30s and 40s because they were a nation without a state - one where their loyalty to their, intangible, nation superseded their loyalty to their state. This made them behave in a manner that often worked against the other, native residents of that state, especially in times of war. Germany suffered a lot during WWI - close to a million starved to death on the Home Front, and Jews were not really among them. The Nazis were extreme, but genuinely quite mild - the Nuremberg laws were very generous with their interpretation of "Blood and Soil" since their primary motive was that "loyalty" question.

Now we have multiple nations without states - outside of Turks, Muslims aren't loyal to their governments, they're loyal to their religion. Even the most basic civic nationalism will result in a full-blown Holocaust - since they're fundamentally opposed to the concept of a Western-style nation-state at its core. Meanwhile, the Jews are in the opposite position - being bound by laws and soil, they're held to an infinitely high standard while those around them, who are not bound by any law or any soil, justify whatever disgusting acts they commit by exploiting the Jews' own standards.

They do it here, too - they use our laws against us, and see no reason to follow them, themselves. And it will end in the same way - the majority will not stand their ground, and instead they'll flee as soon as it looks tough. Then, the rest will be dealt with piece-by-piece.

KF is good enough, but an open forum for the UK itself is definitely needed. We don't have any real forums of our own because men with guns will stop you from doing it.
The closest equivalent to "KiwiFarms but British" is probably Tattle. Their board culture is a bit different - way more powerlevelly, a lot of "huns" and people get angry/weird and possessive about their "scoops" (especially comes up with Brit lolcows like Hollie Dance and Jack Monroe) - but it has the same board culture of archiving stupid stuff lolcows say, mocking them and somewhat tolerating wrongthink like "trans women are men". They all think we're the devil though, but it's a site I'll browse if there's some British specific drama happening and not a very active thread here (e.g. Philip Schofield).

housing is unaffordable because of immigration
Housing is unaffordable because, even more so than banking, it is the one market that any UK government must never, ever allow to fall. It must go to the moon year upon year, no matter how much damage is done to the rest of our economy as it is forced to grow around the massive tumour of "house prices must not fall".

The last government that allowed (well, was unable to prevent) any sort of correction to the housing market was Major's, post Black Wednesday. The result, after he had spent several years putting the economy on a strong footing for growth afterwards, was the first Blair landslide.

The UK public's house value must go up, and they don't care to understand how that is done. They all think they live in a fucking ATM and the idea that the value of their major (mortgaged) asset can go down as well as up... Well, fuck that, says the voting public; fuck that and fuck all those young folk that can't afford somewhere to live. I have my shithole Barratt bungalow on a flood plain in the arse of nowhere! I'm doing alright! I'm a Hard Working Family Taxpayer!

So they go on, boats against the tide, going out to vote for everything other than economic realignment. Every single time.

We know Britain is shit, but Abroad is absolutely dreadful
I have just recently, as promised earlier in the year, now fucked off abroad. I won't say which country as that only ever leads to "hurr durr but your new country is worse" type comments, but honestly I no longer feel like the UK is what it was when I was growing up, and I don't really want my son growing up there now.

Quality of life has nosedived, everything is expensive and even if you're on a decent wage you still spend half your wage on mortgage/rent and half your time doing shit chores like dishes and laundry. I'm expected to feel some sort of generational guilt for the temerity of being born a white man (I don't) and apparently every British institution wants to try and push that shit on my kids too.

Still, I'll pin a union jack up in my house and dream about opening a remote pub that serves real ale and proper chips in my retirement. Good luck to anyone still fighting the good fight on the sceptered isle.

Welcome to the life of as ex-pat, King. You can sip tea in the sun watching the fires of the UK on the horizon. You did the right thing moving abroad, I'm sure you've got mad/miffed/confused at how little they pay for their services vs UK and how most of them are the same, or better.

He for some reason roams the forum looking for places to talk about Jews and the holocaust. He has on one occassions asked admins if he could send pictures of his penis to members on here to prove he is not Jewish. No one cared about him being Jewish, they just wanted him to stop going on about the holocaust when people were talking about bigfoot.

There is something wrong, in his head.

Brexit meant we left the EU, remember? and because they want to get re-elected? do you think politicians don't lie?

I do know what technocracy means, but the ultimate end result of it is going to be more automation.

This isn't a theory, it's what happened. It's well-documented. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-parliaments-38402140

The only thing the Conservative party has ever tried to conserve this century is the pension triple lock and year-over-year house price rises.
The 'conservation' one-nation part of the name came about at the end of the victorian era, they haven't been about actual conservation for literally decades, at least since Thatcher. Their behaviour recently has been still in line with Thatcherism. They're not trying to conserve anything; that's why none of the above stuff is hypocritical. Why would anyone look at the conservatives over the last 50 years and take literally anything about them at face value?

I do support no fault divorce, but I would argue that it's a natural development for them in terms of protecting the property of both parties rather than distributing on the basis of fault, because marriage isn't a moral or religious covenant any more.

Congrats. Unsolicited tip from a fellow ex-pat: Don't make your new social circle a bunch of other brits and in fact be very selective about having any brits at all in the group. The ex-pat version of talking about the weather is endless talk about the old country, constant comparison with the new country, and gossip about shit from 'back home'. That stuff can be really poisionous to your mindset when you're adjusting to a new country, and the easiest way to ensure it doesn't take up a ton of space in your head rent free is to avoid other brits as much as possible.

I also moved abroad, and live in a town with few Brits, and few locals that speak English.

Best advice I ever had was from my solicitors young assistant "Don't compare how things are done here as to how they were done in England".

Very true, I just accept how things are done now, and get on with enjoying my life.

Aye that's the vibe. It's a version of the travellers paradox where the more places you visit, the less any one place will meet all your needs and feel like home. Best chance of success is getting away from that comparison mindset, and hanging arund other ex-pats means they'll drag you back into it all the time unless they're similarly minded and able to leave the topic alone.

No one cared about him being Jewish, they just wanted him to stop going on about the holocaust when people were talking about bigfoot.
No, no, you can link the thread if you'd like. There's no need to continually lie.

I talked about how Holocaust denial is a sign of the failures of Western education - it allows obvious bullshit to fester. You then called me stupid, because obviously, bullets are cheaper than toxic gas. By the way, Zyklon B is produced if you fuck up during the process of making ammunition. It's amazing how a historically important chemical process is not well known among the "far right" - while you apparently know all about the finer points of German politics.

Ironically, the guy who invented the process was Jewish.

It's almost like you're deepthroating propaganda and are thoroughly convinced that you know something nobody else does. Then you continually called everyone who knows basic chemistry or physics a Jew - so I offered to prove that I wasn't Jewish.

This is the mindset - your entire opinion is based off of social approval. It's why so many "far right" activists seem keen to turn to groups like Hope not Hate - they're just unpleasant, immoral individuals who form their opinions by consensus. You spent too much time online, and are completely isolated from reality. The truth is that there is good information to find. You just chose not to. For some reason, you're edgy enough to make offensive statements in secret, but too scared to find out how certain chemicals are actually made.

It's edgy faggotry - it all comes down to the same point. You deliberately misinform yourself, then defend it by attacking anyone who goes against it. You waste your time and effort by filling up on snacks, rather than having a full meal - you don't achieve anything by screaming about "hasbara", but you could sure achieve a lot if you could crack a desktop Ostwald reactor.
