https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Autism incoming:

Henry VIII broke with Rome so he could divorce his first wife Catherine of Aragon and marry Anne Boleyn, not to execute the latter. Anne lost her head for failing to produce a son, although under the guise of witchcraft, incest and affairs with other men, and imagining the King’s death (actually the last one is true—thought crimes in Britain are nothing new). Basically treason. She would have been executed regardless of England’s state religion.
You forgot to add that following the Sack of Rome in 1527 the Pope was more than a little beholden to Charles V, King of Spain, Holy Roman Emperor, and nephew of Catherine of Aragon, and so naturally the usual process of donating a couple chests of coin to the Church at the same time you file the formal paperwork just wasn't going to be a thing.

The amalgamated 'White' is misleading because it is also including Other White's such as Poles, Romanians (I mean who classes them as White) and other such groups for which are not indigenous and secondly doesnt show the true extent of collapse which has taken place in the last twenty five years alone since Blair, who's mission was to 'rub the right's nose in diversity'.

From Wikipedia on census data in just England:
3.png
White's in 1991 werent collected in seperate groups because the amount of 'Other Whites' in the total white amount was effectively fuck all (and other groups which would otherwise gone down as Other such as Germans or French would have gone indistinguishable in the wider population group if you get me) so they amalgamated them as one group entirely. If we assume in 1991 that Other Whites (including White Irish) were 2.5% in total (4% in 2001) gives us a total of 91.3% in 1991 for the White British percentage and 42,961,401 for a population total. So in the matter of quite literally a generation the indigenous population has sank by 17.8% and 1.4 million (!!!) in 30 years. That is to put it in perspective double the drop in roughly half the time (assuming 99.9% to 91.3% from 1951 to 1991)

for the UK overall:
9.gif

Ofcourse this stark drop is no better represented in our cities, for which take the brunt of this, to take some examples:

London (from Eric Kaufmann)
Fizj7nyWAAAPfLq.png
Birmingham
6.png
Manchester
7.png
Leicester
8.png
All of which have had a complete collapse of the indigenous population's percentage due to a mixture of mass migration and white flight away from these ever increasing hellholes. Ofcourse the societal elite welcome these changes with pure joy, the BBC's article literally a couple hours after the data had been released about Leicester praising such a transformation

with this ironic line

literally 2 months after this;

The Gab Files: UK Government Demands Gab Ban A User For “Stirring Up Hatred”

DECEMBER 29, 2022
Gab is going to begin publishing the purely censorship-based inbound requests that we receive from governments. These are the cases where for the most part European bodies like the Met and Europol send us transparently political takedown requests with no law enforcement purpose. Essentially they’re trying to silence a person that they’ve already thrown in prison or are about to. If they don’t want us to talk about these frivolous requests, they can stop sending them to us.
Welcome to the Gab Files.

Today we received one such request from the UK government.
They cited Public Order Act 1986 which says the following:
(1)A person who publishes or distributes written material which is threatening, abusive or insulting is guilty of an offence if—(a) he intends thereby to stir up racial hatred(b) having regard to all the circumstances racial hatred is likely to be stirred up thereby

They didn’t tell us who the person is who allegedly broke this dystopian nonsense law, they didn’t tell us whether the content which they convicted him of was found on our site, and they didn’t specify which posts, if any, actually violated UK law.
They simply told us that they imprisoned someone for expressing wrongthink online, that person had a Gab account and the UK government expected us to unperson this person from the Internet at their behest when no violation of our TOS was found.
Gab is an American company which operates its business in accordance with U.S. law. Gab has no business or operations in the United Kingdom of any kind, nor does it inquire as to, or log, the residence or criminal records of its users or readers.
Gab’s policy is to not remove material unless it violates Gab’s terms of service which was drafted in accordance with US law, in particular the First Amendment.
“Hate speech” or “offensive speech” as such is not illegal here and in fact benefits from unambiguous constitutional protection backed by a half-century of precedent.
Our response to the UK is the same as it is to Germany, France, China, and every other country who tries to remove lawful content from the American Internet: get bent.

I occasionally check Tattle for the latest news on her and they have a wiki for her too. They're not as good with archiving as KF and I've toyed with the idea of creating a thread here for her because she's constantly making a fool of herself and ebegging on Twitter despite being born and raised solidly middle class, but the thought of having to wade through her history just makes me want to take a nap.
The latest anti Jack Monroe backlash is particularly severe. I have no idea how she got away so easily with the “I’m trans and chopping my tits off” to *crickets* malarkey. (https://archive.ph/1Ueqv)
She has large numbers of sycophants simping and caping at all hours of the day.

She’s clearly a massive britbong lolcow and deserves her own thread.

OK. It's finally happening. Currently the OP is a bit of a placeholder but I'm screenshotting and archiving and updating over the course of the day (with more to come over the course of the week I imagine). Bit overwhelmed by all the information to sort through but we've got to start somewhere. Anyone with Jack knowledge, contributions are welcomed and encouraged! Over a decade of content to condense.

It's amazing how Monroe has been making a living as an e-begging grifter for 10 years now and people are *still* buying her sob stories. In her very first blog post back in 2012 she admitted to receiving an Omega Seamaster watch (that retails for a minimum of around £5k) for her 21st birthday, so how anyone could be sucked in by her "poor widdle starving single mommy" act is beyond me. I suspect it's because of her carefully cultivated image that matches a middle-class bleeding-heart liberal's idea of what an "ideal" poor person looks like: female, attractive, a member of the LGBT alphabet brigade, who conveniently shares all of their political views.

Her books are bought chiefly by trendy middle class liberals , as the supposed target market of the working poor know she's talking bollocks and that the majority of her "recipes" are trendy Vegan shite with ingredients you'd only find in Waitrose with barely enough nutritional value to feed a gnat, let alone an entire family.

I like how she mentions looking around the room at all the stuff given to her, including a piano. What kind of circles is she moving in to be just casually given a piano.

Have you had a look here? Jack Wiki on Tattle.Life

For less than the price of her stupid fish pie you can buy similarly sized frozen ready meals which don't require you to already have stuff or pay out the ass for ingredients you may or may not be able to use in other stuff.
Can confirm. Cannot cook for myself so I live of ready meals you can get through a week on £18 and that’s when you are not actively trying to buy the cheapest posdible thing. And they are probably healthier too

Sir Keir Starmer has promised a new "take back control" bill to transfer powers from Westminster to communities.

In his first speech of 2023, the Labour leader - a former Remain supporter - said he wanted to turn the Brexit campaign slogan "into a solution".

He pledged to devolve new powers over employment support, transport, energy, housing, culture and childcare.

Sir Keir said the legislation would be "a centrepiece" of Labour's plans if it wins the next general election.

With the country facing severe pressure on the NHS, a wave of strike action and a cost-of-living crisis, Sir Keir said he was "under no illusions about the scale of the challenges we face".

In his speech in east London, he promised a "decade of national renewal" under Labour and "hope" for the future.

But the Labour leader warned his party "won't be able to spend our way" out of the "mess" he said would be left by the Conservatives.

Setting out his priorities for a future Labour government, Sir Keir said he wanted to give communities "the chance to control their economic destiny".

"The decisions which create wealth in our communities should be taken by local people with skin in the game, and a huge power shift out of Westminster can transform our economy, our politics and our democracy," he said.

During the Brexit campaign of 2016, Sir Keir said he "couldn't disagree with the basic case so many Leave voters made to me".

"It's not unreasonable for us to recognise the desire for communities to stand on their own feet. It's what 'take back control' meant," he said.

"So we will embrace the 'take back control' message but we'll turn it from a slogan to a solution. From a catchphrase into change."

Sir Keir was Labour's shadow Brexit secretary under Jeremy Corbyn between 2016 and 2020, when he unsuccessfully campaigned for a second EU referendum.

Asked by reporters whether he now regretted supporting a fresh vote, Sir Keir said: "Even in those turbulent years, 2016 to 2019, I was always making the argument that there was always something very important sitting behind that leave vote.

"That phrase 'take back control' was really powerful, it was like a Heineken phrasing, got into people.

"And the more they ask themselves, do I have enough control, the more they answer that question, no."

Labour said the bill would give English towns and cities the tools to develop long-term plans for economic growth, creating high-skilled jobs in their areas.

The party said there would be "a presumption towards moving power out of Westminster", with local leaders able to bid for any powers which had already been devolved elsewhere.

Elsewhere in his speech, Sir Keir accused the Conservatives of "sticking plaster politics", saying they had failed to address long-term issues.

Although he acknowledged investment was needed after the "damage" done by the Conservatives to public services, he warned Labour would not be "getting its big government chequebook out".

By suggesting a move away from big increases in public spending, Sir Keir appeared to distance himself from his predecessor as Labour leader, Mr Corbyn.

Sir Keir also said he wanted a Labour government to work with business to deliver its aims.

Asked by reporters whether there was more scope for private sector involvement in public services, Sir Keir said trying to deliver everything through the state did not work.

Instead, he said he was proposing a "partnership model" with "an agile, active state working in partnership with private business".

However, Sir Keir's speech provoked criticism from some on the left of the Labour Party.

Former shadow home secretary Diane Abbott, who is a close ally of Mr Corbyn, said a "take back control" bill was an "empty promise" without new money to go with it.

Labour councillor Martin Abrams, a committee member of the Momentum campaign group, said Sir Keir's speech was "totally out of step with the scale of the crisis facing us" and the references to partnership with the private sector "makes people's hearts sink".

The speech came a day after Rishi Sunak set out his own priorities for government at a venue just a short distance away.

In his new year speech, the prime minister promised to halve inflation, grow the economy, ensure national debt falls, cut NHS waiting lists and pass new laws to stop small boat crossings.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said Mr Sunak's five pledges were in contrast to Sir Keir's speech, which he claimed made "no firm commitments".

On Labour's "take back control" plan, Mr Cleverly said the Conservatives had already given local communities more power through regional mayors.

When politicians start talking about giving people local control, they're always lying. Always. It'll be something like "citizens assemblies", filled with appointed "local representatives", designed to bypass local democratic institutions completely. They'll give the gloss of localism to the imposition of central government dictats.

And he wants even more PPIs, because they were so successful under Blair and Brown.

So far, so Red Tory (which is just Blue Labour). All he's really bringing is a promise to continue the dance toward poverty and destruction, but now we're doing a two-step instead of a waltz. Fucking give me a real choice, you cunts.

Keir’s not going to be able to get anything under control because it is because of Ukraine and Covid and no Government will admit they fucked that up.

‘from some on the left of the labour party’

You know there is something wrong with the party when the journalists are saying there is a Left to the Leftwing Party, it means there’s a Right in the Leftwing Party. And that’s concerning.

@teriyakiburns they were citing Manchester as an example. You know, that dump who when their clean air scheme comes in will likely be putting hundreds if not thousands of people out of work thanks to the added expenses.

I had the misfortune of catching their BBC bit when one of Labour's talking heads claimed devolved powers would totally help the NHS too. Strange how the BBC burke didn't ask the simple question, "Like Scotland."

It's going to be a devolution of every area into their own little fiefdoms, excellent opportunity for even more corruption than before.

The yellow "scheme under review" signs everywhere certainly improve the look of the place. Very cheerful.

Exactly. Local authorities will get more control, but probably at the expense of even less accountability. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if this is just a way to re-establish the local authority leaders' boards and hand them more power, or even re-create the regional assemblies as the "real" local authorities.

Speaking of which, my local council went bust after spending big on property and solar farms expecting a huge return but instead tanked the entire budget and is now in £1 billion debt and begging the government for a bailout.

Really? Damn, Private Eye found me one about 690 million in debt but I hadn't realised any councils were that bad. But I do need to catch up.

Meanwhile Labour want to give these incompetents more power. Truly a workable solution for the parts of the country that actually work.
