A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

You should see the demographics of kids these days. There's a school near my parents house. I used to walk past it to go to another school (the one I attended). I'd see the crowds of kids on their way there. 95% white back in the 90s. It's now, no joke, at least, LEAST 80% non-white. This is in a good end of town too.

The coming demographic storm is something I am going to hate saying I told you so about.

This is highly location dependent. Where I live, half the population is some sort of eurasian, but just a few miles south of me, you'd struggle to find more than one in 50. The Asian population has barely changed since 2011, if current estimates are to be believed. The whole demographic storm thing is just a meme, encouraged by a few population hotspots and media "representation" that has most people convinced the native English population is less than 50%. If you ignore London, it's over 90%.

Yes, not even close. Population of the UK: 87% white, 9% Asian, 3% Nog, 1% other. Sorry you live in a shithole, but it's not representative of the rest of the country.

You guys aren't thinking about this properly.

I'm not saying the demographics are like that now - I'm saying the next generation is. You can talk about what the stats say (we all know the famous saying about lies, damn lies, and statistics) but I'm telling you this was basically an all white area in a GOOD part of town (not a shithole, don't handwave it away like that) and that younger generation just is not the same. The stats can say what the fuck they want. I've seen this with my own eyes, in many places, not just there. I've lived in a few places around the country over the years, and the younger generation is different.

In 20 years when more old boomers die off and this generation grows up, the shift will be a landslide that gathers momentum exponentially. Think about more than just the present, in other words don't be like a stupid fucking African with no concept of time.

It's coming boys. it can't be stopped.

I'll say this again, just in case you missed it. The future is not going to be like the present when it comes to demographics. There's a ticking timebomb just waiting to blow up, figuratively and given the history of goatfuckers, likely quite a few literal ones as well.

Is that 2021 census data out yet? What's the percentage of whites gone down by this time? Like I said, exponentially worse things are on the way. Because saying the non-white population hasn't changed in ten years is bollocks, even through just migration alone.

It's taken longer, but now we're at the stage where that massive influx is multiplying like some horrible bacteria. Like I said, exponential. The kids of those migrants are now having kids, and LOTS of them. You know what Muslim families are like, there's always minimum about 7 kids.

Where are those 2021 census figures? Did they actually release them?

Anyway I'm going to stop banging on about this because I'm actually going to get MATI. Time will tell.
 
Well sunak is unsurprisingly leading among the MPs but Boris claims he has enough, it really would be the most Boris thing ever if he comes storming back. Plus Labour couldn't keep crowing about unelected PM since he was the leader when they won the GE.

I can believe this. I've heard even small towns in Northern England far from any metro area have tons of Femis, Mehmets and refugee Muhammads wandering around.

And Sunak won and won't be PM until Halloween...strange huh. Although, Sunpak is part of the WEF so let's hope Starmer prevents this from happening.

I heard someone on the BBC point on Stamer's strong record on criminal prosecution. Almost put a brick into the radio given some of the shit that was not prosecuted under him.
 
So I have a question, if Sunak crashes the economy and government with no survivors; is it incompetence or revenge for colonization?
