Am I the only one here old enough to remember John Major and Norman Lamont? Because it took them 3 years to descend to the level of sheer flailing panic and cluelessness that Liz and Kwarsi achieved in a little under 3 weeks. Talk about hitting the ground running.

Boris may have been evil, but at least he wasn't a moron. Liz Truss appears genuinely stupid. Like legit 80IQ should be operating a checkout somewhere dim. I haven't seen a senior politician so clearly lacking in intellect since John Prescott. Actually, Prescott is like Truss in many ways - he only got where he did because of his clout in the Trade Union movement, not on merit, and Truss is only a senior Tory because of her connections in the oil and gas industry (which, entirely coincidentally I'm sure, she keeps handing gibs to). But at least nobody made Prezza Prime Minister. Even Gordon Brown knew he was just comic relief and not someone to be given real power.

Even my city friends, who this fuckup of a budget was aimed at, all have their heads in their hands - not least because the surging interest rates and import costs have more than wiped out any tax savings they made personally. These people need to be gone. Not at the next election, now, before they somehow tip the entire country into the Atlantic. I suspect 2023 will see rioting on the level of the Poll Tax riots, maybe worse, because that was just the left. Even my right-wing friends just want to burn the entire thing to the ground, or even (*spit*) vote Labour. It's that bad.

My plan was to emigrate when my dad passes, using the inheritance to fund it. Now I will either have to secure alternative finance or encourage him to take up dangerous hobbies.

A man has been charged with the murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel, who was shot in her home in Liverpool.
The nine-year-old was fatally wounded as her mother tried to stop a gunman chasing another man into their house.
Thomas Cashman, 34, of West Derby, Liverpool, has also been charged with the attempted murder of Olivia's mother Cheryl Korbel and Joseph Nee.
Olivia was shot in the chest and her mother was injured as Mr Nee was chased into their Dovecot home six weeks ago.
Mr Cashman has also been charged with two counts of possession of a firearm to endanger life.
Paul Russell, 40, of Snowberry Road, West Derby, has been charged with assisting an offender.
Both men are due to appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Olivia's mother was shot in the wrist as she tried to shut the door to stop two men entering her house on Kingsheath Avenue at about 22:00 BST on 22 August.
The gunman continued shooting and fatally hit Olivia. Neither man was known to the family.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Green, of Merseyside Police, said his team had worked "relentlessly" in what has been "a complex inquiry, supported by Olivia's mum and dad and the wider Merseyside community".
Det Ch Supt Mark Kameen said it was still "very much a live investigation".
He said: "At the beginning of the investigation we were firm in our commitment to finding all of those involved in this case, which includes the people who have tried to shield and protect individuals, and those who have supplied the weapon or are hiding the weapons used in this incident.
"We have had an overwhelming response and support from the public since the tragic murder of Olivia and I would ask for your continued support so we can keep the promise we made to Olivia's family and the local community to ensure that those involved face justice.
"Our thoughts today are with Olivia's mum and dad, Cheryl and John Francis, and their families, who throughout the last few weeks have shown incredible strength, courage, and dignity."

Olivia's mother Cheryl Korbel said the nine-year-old "will never be forgotten"
Olivia's funeral was held on 15 September at a packed St Margaret Mary's Church, just streets away from where the shooting happened.
Pink ties, jackets, scarves and bows were worn by those attending the service after her family asked people to wear a "splash of pink".
Speaking in her eulogy, her mother said her daughter had "touched so many people's hearts and was loved and adored by everyone".
"I will never say goodbye but what I will say is goodnight, love you, see you in the morning."
The police force has appealed for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or smart doorbell footage, which might help the investigation, to come forward.

I question if they've got the right person, but if so I suspect he's been handed over because the assorted upper echelons of the local criminals have gotten bored of the headache.

They recently had one of their dipshits set his arm on fire during a random tennis tournament. Well they went for a new strategy this time and I think we should have a quick quiz. Imagine you're an eco wanker with the stated aim of getting private jets banned. Do you:

a)Go after one of the 5 ministers at the Department of Transport?

Given that the government seems hell bent on destroying what little is left of the country, a system where they can't do anything seems like a step in the right direction.

Its not exactly a open secret the centrist and left wing factions of Labour actively despise each other.
The Labour Party spent most of the eighties fighting with each other leading to splinter factions such as SDP and Militant Tendency being founded and even in the Blair years you had the Respect Party. The Tories also did the same thing with Thatcher being ratfucked out of being Prime Minister.

The upper echelons of British society is basically controlled by the equivalent of Ivy League graduates who lack life experience to govern properly while failing to fix properly the problems caused by Britains change from a industrial based economy to a service based economy propped up with a welfare state.

Few days late with this news but Primark has gone back on it's mixed-sex changing rooms (archive in queue) because TERFs on twitter threatened to boycott them.
On the one hand it's companies thinking 100 people on Twitter matter in the slightest, on the other it's going to piss off trannies(and TERFs because trannies can still use whichever changing rooms they want.

The replies are full of TERFs asking Primark to define "women".

A British couple was kidnapped, murdered and fed to crocodiles while searching a nature reserve in South Africa for rare seeds, a court heard Tuesday.

Horticulturist Rod Saunders, 74, and his wife, microbiologist Dr. Rachel Saunders, 63, were camping in the remote Ngoye Forest Reserve when they disappeared in February 2018, the Daily Mail reported.

The couple was last heard from on Feb. 8, when they told an employee about their plans to camp in the reserve 30 miles north of Durban.

Police now say that Sayefundeen Aslam Del Vecchio, his wife, Bibi Fatima Patel, and their tenant Mussa Ahmad Jackson kidnapped, robbed and murdered the couple on the night of Feb. 10, the same day they were reported missing.

Among the evidence presented in Durban High Court this week were text messages from Del Vecchio to Patel and Jackson stating that there was an elderly couple nearby to “target” for a “hunt.”

Another message to an unknown person said “it is very important that the body of the victims is never found.”

Del Vecchio and Patel, who are believed to have flown an Islamic State flag at their home, were already on a watchlist when they were arrested on Feb. 15, 2018.

When Jackson was taken into custody a few weeks later, he reportedly told police how he and Patel helped Del Vecchio throw the sleeping bag-wrapped bodies into the river.

While both victims’ badly decomposed remains were discovered within days of the murder, they were unidentified for several months.

A search warrant also revealed receipts for items purchased with Rachel Saunders’ bank card in Patel’s purse, and led to the recovery of the victims’ bloodied Land Cruiser.

A fourth suspect was later discovered to have bought cellphones belonging to the Saunderses. The individual was given a suspended sentence in exchange for crucial information.

Based in Cape Town, the Saunderses ran Silverhill Seeds, an online ordering company that sold rare seeds to customers around the world. They typically spent half the year trekking through mountains and forests for inventory.

In the days before their disappearance, the Saunderses were profiled for an episode of BBC’s “Gardener’s World.”
