A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Well, this is ironic, after all the people that have told SJWs to go fight for women's rights in middle-eastern shitholes instead of complaining about stupid stuff like "muh patriarchy", they have turned the UK in one of those shitholes and become oppressed for real.
Surely fighting the patriarchy of the religion of peace will be a peace of cake, they're the enlightened savages, way better than cis scum

"Morally we do not accept homosexuality as a valid sexual relationship to have. It's not about being homophobic... that's like saying, if you don't believe in Islam, you're Islamophobic."

Khakan Qureshi, a gay Muslim activist who runs Birmingham South Asian LGBT

He said given the existing legislation to stop discrimination, "I don't understand why certain communities here in the UK are not adhering to those laws".

I swear, every paragraph has something that makes me physically go: :story:

Mr Ahmed said his community was "respectful and tolerant" of British values but now felt victimised.
Fucking hell, you better be a hell of a lot more than just "respectful and tolerant" of the culture of the country you want to live in. If the normies didn't have their heads so firmly shoved up their own assess I would say this is a delicious little red pill, but we all know they're not going to swallow it.

The fucking cheek of these people though...

Now if only the right were not so inept in the UK, perhaps the situation could be taken advantage of.

Question - is their birthright citizenship in the UK? If a child is born to two migrants would they have voting rights? Is the situation different if the two parents have become permanent residents? Basically, is there going to be an Islamic voting bloc forming which can get in its own representatives, in the same way the USA now elects Arabs and Somalis?

Oh no, but where will eight year olds learn about buggery if a cadre of freaks and misfits aren't allowed to flaunt their perversions at our elementary schools!

This is a rare case where Muslims are in the right. There is a time and a place for gay education, and that time and place is not in a room full of eight year-olds.

No.

They always drop backhanded comments against the west even during the best of circumstances, they can't help it. They only "tolerate" British values, as if it's such a hassle to have to be around uppity Brits in Britain, the place where the majority of Brits live. "Tolerating" those values is likely a polished up exaggeration just because he talked to a western reporter who would report on what he, as their spokesman, had said about the current situation. They are somewhat media savvy. 80% of the times when someone that can speak Arabic and looks Arabic sneaks a hidden camera into situations like that their true colors show because they think they are in their own cultural bubble and don't have to put on a show, and every time they get away with it.

A good example of this was when some immigrant women, journalists, put on burkas with hidden cameras/microphones and went to different mosques to get advice from the Imam. The woman was beaten and raped by her husband on a regular basis and she wondered if it would be ok to go to the police because that was illegal in Sweden. And no, that was not ok, there are times when beating and rape is ok and Sharia says... When that imam got a visit from a Swedish journalist with a film crew he angrily explained that if they had been HONEST and told him it would be on Swedish TV he would have said something different. It was a big new Saudi-funded mosque IIRC.

On the other hand, the mosque that was seen as THE extremist mosque in the late 90's told her, while wearing the hidden camera, that she had to tell the police, it was the law, it would not be an offense to Islam, what she experienced should not be allowed to happen in Sweden. So that's good.
