Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".
While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".
One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".
Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."
TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.
"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.
Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."
Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."
"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.
Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".
The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".
It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.
The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

Had a taxi driver the other day and he openly started talking matter of factly about how immegrants had ruined his particular area of Wales where he came from. He didn't skip a beat. That's a sea change within a couple of years. Even two years ago that would not have happened. The taxi driver would have sounded you out or danced around the issue, but this bloke said it like it was the most natural thing in the world. That means that he must be used to having these conversations, matter of factly with most people he knows.
There's a few things going on here.
The first is that racism has always existed because it is a natural reaction to the 'other'. See how fucking out and out racist most black people are, not just against white people, but against pakis and indians, and if you didn't know, you might actually be shocked. Black people will say to your face about indians what they will say about whites when your back is turned. I've known many naturally racist people, and most of them have been ok, but quite a few of the general 'bigot' types are arseholes. I'm pretty easy going myself and have had black girlfriends in my younger days, and it's not hard to dislike a lot of people like that, because a lot of them are dicks.
So there's that. It's always been there and it's never gone away and it's never going away. So there are those people. Then there are the people like me who weren't inherently racist and used to maybe be a bit left leaning but got mugged by reality (or niggers). We've had a long time living together now and it should be obvious to most that these people are not like us. Some are ok but most aren't. Talking about any of the nogs / pakis / mystery meats. There are those that have been violently or sexually attacked or robbed then there are those that just see that they don't want to integrate, never had any intention of integrating and will do anything they can via nepotism to strengthen their stronghold. So there's that as well. The day of reckoning has come.
Then on top of that we have the forced immigration (for fuck knows what possible reason) that the govt. knows isn't popular but they still do it anyway. This makes people feel impotent and it also enrages them that they can't change anything by peaceful means. So what we are seeing here is the ultimate protest vote and there's more of that to come before things get really spicy when people realise that that didn't work either. You can't fail to notice that there are fucking pakis (indians) everywhere now. There's been a massive influx in the last year or two and it's just not possible to turn a blind eye to it anymore. This is a small country that is economically fucked and badly governed. So there's that too.
Which leads on to the fact that it's all very well not noticing or turning a blind eye when it's not affecting you or hitting you in your pocket, but all this asylum seeker bullshit has really got the noggin joggin for a lot of people looking for reasons or just a scapegoat. Their almonds have been well and truly activated. They are told one thing but it just feels like being gaslit when you look at the plain old reality of it with your lying eyes and you see something entirely different. There's only so long you can play that game and the day of reckoning has arrived with that as well. We're about to hit a massive economic downturn by the end of this year as Trump's little jolly in the ME and all its chickens come home to roost. Things weren't getting better any time soon anyway, but shit will hit fan in the not too distant future which is only going to activate those almonds even more.
And finally, people are waking up, and even the grannies and old dears are becoming 'rayciss' now. They see the country they grew up in lost, devastated and deracinated, its people demoralised and atomized, and still with more to come, they tell us, because it's good for us, don't you know, and if it wasn't for those nasty extreme right wing nazis then it would be all milk and honey. There's only so far you can pull the wool over people's eyes before they start noticing and then resenting, and then becoming furious in an impotent rage. <<< YOU ARE HERE!
Anyone who really cares and anyone who really wants to change things knows they can't because we aren't allowed. Politics, democracy is a hollow sham. We're just a more sophisticated banana republic with more sophisticated propaganda than anywhere else in the world. Peaceful protest is not possible. It is shut down. We have the whole apparatus of the state against us, the common man, and now the man on the clapham omnibus knows that too. These are dark days. Many escape in to drugs, or booze, or in to reality tv, or social media updoots, but a lot of us are left in the deep depression of the grim reality of our situation. That's not black pilling, it's basic fucking situational awareness and if you haven't come to that grand realisation yet you really have not been paying attention.
TL;DR - Things are going to have to get a lot worse before they get better. And any time now things really will be getting a whole lot worse. You've taken away people's right to peacefully protest or peacefully act for change, you've backed them in to a corner with nothing left to lose, what the fuck did you think was going to happen. That's why they've been building a prison island for you and me and erecting the apparatus of the state that they plan to use against us, but we're only one more muzzie truck of peace and hot summer away from our own summer of rage. Yeah yeah, when the saxon began to hate, but you never know, all that seems so impossible to come about now that we are so neutered, until the day the gloves come off, and it all just seems so obvious and so inevitable, and people will wonder why it took so long. It was always that easy. But everything comes at a price, and if we ever get to that stage (we will) then it will be discomfort for EVERYONE. Reform candidates are taking Birmingham. Sue Willets for Perry Common (Thats a VERY Black Country last name) with double the votes of the Labour candidate, and Alan Feeney in Shard End. Handsworth, and Tyseley, to Green, Labour Gravelley Hill, Highters Heath held by Conservatives. The BBC Map doesn't break down each of the wards which is annoying. It might be NOC by the end of the day. The vote count is at the Utilita arena, which had the bomb hoax last week.

Huge amounts of people were traditionally left wing due to having working class backgrounds, or family backgrounds. They voted Labour due to the idea that Labour were the best bet for ordinary working families. And it's ordinary working families who have suffered most from mass immigration. They are now swinging to vote for whoever they think is their best bet to reverse that or at least send the message that they want it reversed, and yesterday, that was for Reform.
c) average voter, mum and dad, do not have the same ties to political ideologies that we political spergs do. They don't grip to being right wing left wing like pundits, they vote for whoever is going to get the price of milk down and benefit them.
