A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The Women's Super League just released "guidelines" for designing "Elite Women's Stadiums" because traditional football stadiums are too patriarchal or some shit. Naturally it's a combination of retarded buzzwords that they never explain, and retarded ideas: https://www.wslfootball.com/news/world-first-design-guidelines-for-elite-womens-stadiums-unveiled

What the fuck is this even supposed to mean?
If this means that they build their own infrastructure, stop leaching of the men’s game, and fuck off and leave us all alone I’d say go for it, but you know they’ll expect the men AND the tax payer to pick up the bill for this.

On the subject of women's sport, I had the misfortune to see the "This Girl Can" advert. It's all fatties, pakis, muslims, niggers, and danger hairs. The only white people are old or fat.

Hilarious they included muslims when that mosque in London actively bans young girls and women from taking part in sport. Also (yes I know, there's no women on the internet) but I find the use of the word girl for adult women dweplyv offensive. That's fucking tranny shit that is.

Reeves is going to slash the Cash ISA limit to 12k a year.

For those like me who are invested in S&S ISAs this isn't an issue, but this is maddening and yet ANOTHER attack on Nicolas, 30 ans.

I can’t stress how much you should not do this. The council will set bailiffs on you and bankrupt you. They literally want to see you broke, dead, your kids raped and brainwashed, and they think it’s funny.
If you have ever paid your council tax through your bank account, they have the number.
They will get a court order to freeze the funds owing and charge you for the privilege of doing so. Plus interest, plus the bailiff fees etc. The money will be removed from your account after a set time period. 90 days maybe?

DAMHIK.

I do know someone who got single occupancy backdated several years and a big refund.

But have you seen this year's John Lewis Christmas advert? I was ugly-crying out of nowhere. Take me back to the 90s. :feels:

Time for Dankula then...

There are a few good Scottish Reform UK bods out there, but we'd need somebody like David Ross who was great when UKIP were riding high. I think he's joined the Scottish Libertarians.

Scotland is going to be more difficult to win over than Wales, though a lot of the old mining and steel towns there are likely to vote for Reform UK. The question is who will win the most seats there.

The SNP aren't popular, Scottish Labour aren't doing well, the Lib Dems and Greens aren't making too much progress and there are some seats which Reform UK have little to no chance of winning being realistic. Therefore, it will be very interesting to see which seats go to which party next time out.
Aye, that's all very well, but who's the main Reform guy leading the party into the Holyrood elections next year?
If there's nobody to point to and talk up for that, (Farage probably isn't yer man for the job up here, tbh) then that's already a losing proposition ahead of the next GE.
The Scottish will remember that.
And it's not like Scotland is that difficult to please politically as everyone seems to think, look at the last popular(ISH) Tory. Ruth Bloody Davidson. Negative amounts of charisma.
And she got a seat in the Lords for that.
Politically, at the moment, Scotland is a bit like a fat BPD woman, very easy, and desperate to believe someone cares.
But you've got to turn up and at least buy her a pint, whilst you compliment her, goddammit.
Anyway, this incredibly nuanced political advice didn't come from me, Llyr, and it'll all be for naught come the next GE, if there's no importance put on the 2026 Holyrood elections, anyway.

I'm pleasently surprised that most christmas adverts this year have removed the wogs. Either it was a snap decision based on the Reform member's comments or they've been monitoring the 'temperature' of the British public for a while now.

It's great. I'm so sick of seeing niggers, or worse, mixed race couples. That shit is foul. It's not natural, it doesn't work and it's cruel to the kids. It also makes stuff like organ and marrow donation if needed insanely hard. Race mixing isn't right.

I'll let Nigel and the Top Brass know.

Olivia Colman begging for Ukraine, plus WaterAid and the Salvation Army...

SOD OFF!

They always get worse at Christmas with their grifting/begging.

Nigga, you’re spending your time reading a website that stalks all manner of autistic people for not being autistic correctly. You have no right to judge how anyone spends their time.
I can and I do if you watch mainstream TV in this country you're a brain dead faggot eagerly consuming your zog slop from the trough.

It's probably that. From what I've seen and heard, advertisers in general have been uneasy about the racial makeup of ads for years, and I've seen sentiment from working tangentially to advertising that advertisers are specifically afraid of right wing backlash the amount of non-white actors in ads. It is very likely the controversy earlier this year made them panic. I've heard of advertisers demanding studios recast ads specifically to feature all white actors, they are afraid of the right.

The problem is the right is too defensive, if instead of apologizing and treating it as a controversy, reform simply steamrolled ahead and went on the offensive I think they'd have had a lot more mileage on the issue.

A good point, but the Right are usually seen as the kind and caring ones.

We don't want to become the screaming hoardes or arseholes - we'll let the angry Left carry on being that and we'll have a good laugh at their expense.
