A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

lloyds bank app never fucking works, this is just business as usual.
If you're still with Lloyds or HSBC after their five major outages a year, you deserve what you get. I swear it's every year that their systems fail around payday and people are left being unable to pay rent until Rajeesh Popalovahindu fixes it.

This might be a bit of an interesting topic, what's all your thoughts on challenger banks? Monzo, Starling etc... ? I've used both and besides the heavy mobile app focus, they kick the absolute shit out of legacy banks (who else remembers when they used to be called "high street banks"?)

I do use one for work/business but I'm more skeptical of them tbh. Not having an IRL branch makes me just less likely to trust them with my money if that makes sense. There's no where i can go into and get help, it's all asian tech call centres. Iirc Revolut was in trouble a while ago for something financial crime-y as well, tho whether thats the government/regulators refusing to keep up with modern banking is up to you. They also all put a ton of money into advertising their banks on social media which is a huge red flag for me, its like Raycon or Raid Shadow Legends tier marketing push for youths. ''Cool Banking'' if you've ever seen the faggy Monzo ads.
TL;DR i wouldn't put all your cash with them until they are more established imho but they are a lot easier to use.
Speaking of banking, did that whole thing about sending someone more than 750quid has to be approved by the bank get passed? some new fucking financial crime rule designed to punish us all by Comrade Starmer.

Not with any of these, but Monzo looks good and I have considered them esp. over their versatility with crypto as my current bank refuses to do crypto.

Monzo is a 'maybe' going forward.

Don't use Monzo, they're fucky wucky.
I've never had an account with them but have seen the same thing happen a million times; whenever a payment doesn't "go through properly" it gets put into "pending", and this will last until some brown person in a data centre somewhere presses a button to unlock it, this can take days and it happens all the time, in the meanwhile? No access to your own money lol hope you don't have any direct debits pending.

This never happens with Amex/actual banks, only Monzo and other online-only things.
Just be a grown-up and use a Building Society.

I thought he preferred Pizza Express?
He has no preference, except that they provide him with copious amounts of cheese pizza.

Starling wouldn't let me sign up. I currently use tide for business purposes, wise for handling international payments. Tide is pretty decent and has a savings account that actually accrues some interest. Wise is also decent enough and mogs anyone else when it comes to sending money overseas, or taking payments from foreigners.

Monzo looked dodgy the moment I saw it being memed into popularity by the tech crowd. Everyone at the place I was working suddenly turned up with Monzo cards one day. Felt like a fad and made me instantly wary.

I use HSBC for personal shit because I've been with them for 20 years and changing that many direct debits is a pain in the arse. That said, I understand there are automated transfers now, so maybe I'll finally make the jump...

I know Monzo and Revalut and whatnot aren't Ponzi schemes but they just set off my Ponzi scheme alarm bells off something rotten.

A bank should be a simple thing and it shouldn't fucking matter which bank you're banking with as long as it's reliable at doing the actual bank shit: receiving money and paying money out. These weird combo bank slash investment pools benefit only the largest retards as you should be deliberately separating your current account LIVING money and your long term investment money. You just KNOW when the next financial dip happens you'll see a wave of Monzo retards going "hang on I can't pay my bills this month, I thought money only went up?"

This is what happens when we don't educate kids about Bank Accounts and Safety in school.

Teachers bullshit them into believing that there's infinite genders, but how can kids open a bank account or even a tin without breaking down if nobody tells them what to do?

Never trusted those dodgy looking banking apps, they advertise all over Youtube and they just looked like something was off about them. Anything that gets advertised next to a remittance app is a turd world scam waiting to happen.

Any new thing that has weird tech-speculative-capitalist investment vibes (ala Uber or WeWork or recent crypto firms) sets off huge alarm bells for me that the CEO is actually a cult leader and one day is gonna be arrested for fraud. Very much Fad vibes as well. Also Remitly international transfers, theres too much advertising for me to trust it with my money.

It should really be parents teaching their kids but parents dont parent anymore and they all use Klarna or PayLater to finance little Jaydens JDSports trainers and have no financial literacy themselves.
Edit to add: there are actually so many ads on youtube etc for financial apps that imho are just trying to take advantage of retards/the cost of living crisis. That Plum savings app with the chinese fella and the 1p challenge looks so sketchy to me.

Sadly true and, should little Jayden's account get hacked and end up on a Dark Web Marketplace, what the heck happens then?

I don’t know enough about Tommy Robinson to conclude if he’s genuine or just a Israel shill/forced op but man this tweet and all the keyboard warriors shitting on him pissed me off.

In a country as cucked as the UK you cannot possibly say you care only about white people or that white people are the only Brits. Sorry the Anglo ethnostate was lost decades ago, the best you can do is reduce bleeding.
Man, I sure do love that Bongs seethed at me about the USA being a mutt nation only for both this and the next several pages to happen. Happy Diwali from Nigel Farage, my Anglo cousins!

Haven't rang them in a while so it might have changed, but I spoke to British call centre staff the few times I've had to ring Starling. No issues at all with their customer service online or on the phone.

I have a starling account that I use as my spending money account (main account is with major high street bank) and it’s always worked well for me.
I was looking at Wish for when we’re travelling but haven’t tried it yet.

including Snapchat, Duolingo and Roblox - are not operating this morning due to a major internet outage.
Fucking 9/11 for groomers holy shit. Roblox and snapchat? How am I meant to pay for and receive child porn now wtf?
And of fucking course it's fucking aws. Of course it is. Aws is a genuine scourge on society. So many major companies, like the fucking banks, use this shit. Amazon has genuinely created it's own monopoly on the internet and provides a dogshit service that is constantly going down or leaking data. But no one can do anything about it because once again the fucking banks rely on it. No one can turn around and say fuck you amazon here's a massive anti monopoly act because it would decimate almost all infrastructure. So much of the world relies on aws to the point where no one wants to stop them because they know the absolute billions it would cause in damages. Why does our fucking bank need to outsource work to amazon of all companies? It doesn't. It only does this because it's cheaper and now the entire world is reliant on it.

Fun fact aws generates more money than the retail side of things, you know that part that has ruined deliveries and independent businesses and the entire fucking highstreet? Yea that makes nowhere near as much money as aws does. Take what amazon did to the highstreet, it has done that but worse to the internet. Most websites rely on it, most infrastructure relies on it, most banks rely on it, the fucking government relies on it. Absolute scourge. The retail side of things is an absolute shitshow full of scams and ripoffs or scalpers, the aws side is even fucking worse somehow. The more you learn about amazon as a company the more you fucking hate it. Amazon is literally too big to fail because if amazon fails the majority of the world goes with it.
attempting to destabilise through deliberate population transfer
Remove the word attempting. They are not attempting to do this. They have successfully done this. But yes russia funnels people from the middle east which it shares a direct border with straight to the Polish border and funds their transport too. Incredibly based that the poles literally allowed lethal ammunition to be shot at invaders though. The only fucking sane country in this continent. People think of russia as European because it likes to propagandise itself as such, russia is mostly in arabia and Asia, they are not poles or finnish they are arabs and jeets and chinks.

Right, if I have understood the above correctly...

If AWS Servers ever went completely, we are looking at Armageddon?

Good to know...

If AWS Servers ever went completely, we are looking at Armageddon?
No.
What you are looking at however is the whole y2k scare but real. Planes won't fall out of the sky and surgeries won't instantly fail. However you will most likely be unable to book a flight and all of them would most likely be delayed and surgeries would probably be completely postponed just from being unable to access medical records. Most online banking would simply stop working, same with most online stores. Not sure about credit cards but they might be fucked too. It's not nuclear armageddon, it's just consoomer 9/11.

Six weeks to AWS:reInvent [50,000 devs invade Vegas; it's a thrill] and I'm sure the CEO is rewriting his keynote even as we speak.

Back to these shores: can we bring back hanging, and start with the youths setting off fireworks practically outside my window?

Nah. Fireworks are based. Even with a dog she doesn't care. I'm not going to say ban fireworks just because people I don't like use them otherwise I'd be no better than the retarded facebook mothers. Don't ban fireworks, ban indians.
