I had it, it was basically a two week flu to me. It might make a difference that I'm in excellent health but having actually had the damn thing myself, I can honestly say this shit is overblown. Never let a crisis go to waste.

I had it myself last year (I have to travel for work, I don't get a choice where or when I go) and it was like a bad chest cold, not much more. Although the not being able to taste stuff symptom is spot on, I couldn't taste really strong stuff like garlic, or even whiskey. Really weird and annoying, but kind of eh beyond that. Lasted about a week, I got two weeks paid time off. The second coming of the plague...

My 73 year old neighbour had it and she said she was just really exhausted for like a week. And had no sense of smell or taste.
