The electric 911 have tickled Wu's fanny in the past when he found out a company sold some form of conversion kits(meaning engineered from the ground up by Wu). Some guy chimed in on twitter and explained that it is indeed very hard to do, required enormous amounts of work and it's not like dropping in a battery back where the engine used to be, it was also outrageously expensive as can be expected. Wu backed off then but after having touched a 911 and installed a mp3 player he probably feels he's got the right amount of experience of installing electronics in a Porsche. He might also have found a relatively local place that can do all of it for him like when he expertly changed the tranny or whatever it was.

I would doubt Frank has spent much, if any, bench time in years. Sure the patent guy (agent or atty) might do a facilities tour, but that's about it. In biotech/chem that's one of the draws of moving to patent work...getting out of the wet lab.
It'd be more accurate to say he knows HOW it's done, not how to do it (I know HOW people climb a 5.14, but I can't do it). that's what a patent agent typically does - they abstract the invention, Not a diss, it's actually helpful b/c the boots-on-the-ground inventors/technicians can get overly focused on the actual practice and ten to have tunnel vision (so they thing "screw" or "nail" specifically instead of "fastener")
I highly doubt Frank could go in tomorrow and start pumping out the vax.
I think it's more about that "smug superiority" John's latched onto as a catch phrase

Not only that; he would need to design completely new transmission, as petrol engines have completely different characteristics than electric ones.
Not to mention fancy engineering required to create electric vehicle acceleration pedal that would simulate how gas pedals in conventional cars work.
And I bet there are many more things that we forgot about. Big carmakers are investing literally tens of billions of dollars into developing EVs. It's not that simple to change your 911 into Porsche Taycan in your garage.

it's not that they are a majority or anything. over represented just means that their percentage in that sub-population is a higher percentage than their percentage in the overall population
say I have an island with 100 people and 5 of them are troonfags (5%)

let's say 10 people are assigned to shit-shoveling so everyone doesn't get dysentery and die

So the troonfags are "overepresented" since that's like 20% (2 out of 10) vs 5% of the general population
