Given that several of Wu's posts have also been complaining about Trump, even if not always directly using him by name, I'd argue that it hasn't really worked. I think deplatforming isn't so much about making people less relevant, it's just about making it easier to talk behind someone's back without fear of possible repercussion from said person. It's something Wu himself is already quite familiar with, given how rarely he @'s people in his callout posts/how quick he is to block people.

We'd need a control alternate universe where Trump was allowed to keep his Twitter until he left office and people obviously stopped paying much attention to him because he isn't president anymore. How much do you think people search for Obama now compared to in 2016?
That's rather overstated. It is extraordinarily unlikely that his Twitter traffic would have died off that quickly if he had not been banned.
It would depend if he kept tweeting after his presidency or not. He has a Gab now, but he doesn't seem to have used it at all. Nonetheless I'd still expect a major drop off in interest in the long run as the news cycle moved on.

Odds on that are 1:1. As I've mentioned before, John has never once shown any indication of reading a book in his life, always posting screenshots of audiobooks when he wants to talk about the latest book he's "read." Never takes a picture of a physical book, or even having a novel pulled up on a tablet or e-reader, it's always audiobooks. And in the case of something like The Expanse, of course he'd rather watch the show than read the source material.
I'd believe it. Like the people who watched harry potter instead of reading it. There are things that give them away. Also, john could be doing text to speech. Can just get his little capuchin to help him out.
