If John took that image of the oil gauge with the engine idling at operating temperature, then he is running his new toy with too little oil. The needle should be in the white. What could go wrong? (ETA: Didn't notice that the oil temp gauge indicates that the engine is stone cold, so the point of John's picture seems to be --as always-- "Look at my Porsche!").)

Also, the gauge doesn't simply read correctly "when it's hot" as John incomprehensibly claims. The gauge reads correctly when the vehicle is stopped on level ground and the engine is idling at operating temperature, which it won't reach for quite a while unless you drive the car.

Five years ago my family's furnace shit the bed and the whole house needed an upgrade, so it was like two weeks without central heating in the middle of Feburary during a colder than average winter.

The solution? Wear a fucking hoodie all day, including to bed. It was just like camping in the scouts, only inside my house.
