I find it very interesting that someone with an ego as big as Wu's basically gives the most zero effort answer to this question possible.

When you ask most sensible people, regardless of where they fall on the political compass, why they love America, they'll usually tell you some combination of the fact that we are free to criticize and mock our own government, that we aren't a totalitarian shithole like China (yet; you know there's establishment types that jerk off to this prospect), that we aren't actually an inherent racist country, no matter how much identity politicians like to pretend we are, and that we've lasted so long where other countries have failed to. Like every 200+ year old institution, it's got issues, and they should be addressed, but it's doing infinitely better in almost every metric than its contemporaries.

The argument John uses is, effectively, that America is only good when it does the things he wants. Which is patently ridiculous.
