Should doctors still be compelled to force """"trans kids"""" to undergo hormone therapy though?

Couldn't be more true, Cenk, our institutions overwhelmingly favour Trump and the Republican Party, I can hardly turn on CNN without seeing them worship at the man's feet.

And yet it's totally okay to troon out kids, permanently sterilizing them, if you catch them playing with the wrong toys.

Also Mississippi has about zero to do with this. This was done all over the country. The famous Buck v. Bell case was about a Virginia woman. This case is generally regarded as an abomination, but Holmes is seeming more right every year. "Three generations of imbeciles are enough."

As happens frequently while reading anything John posts, especially about Mississippi, my bullshit detector went off again, so I decided to do some research.

According to this very exhaustively researched website on eugenics and forced sterilizations in the US, I could not find any information about Mississippi courts dropping charges if a woman got a hysterectomy. I couldn't find anything to back up this claim when searching elsewhere, though on this website I did find an interesting factoid: at one of the Mississippi hospitals that performed forced sterilizations, “although Black patients […] received significantly worse treatment than […] White patients and suffered appalling death rates, no evidence exists of a different sterilization rate for the two groups."

Another fun fact: the state with the highest rate of eugenics-related sterilizations? That progressive beacon itself, California, with over 20,000 of them, a third of all eugenics-related forced sterilizations in the US. By comparison, the backwater hick state of Mississippi performed less than 700.

As to other forced sterilizations, the term "Mississippi appendectomy" apparently refers to a woman being unknowingly sterilized when going in for another medical procedure, and in the case Relf v. Weinberger, it was found that the government was sterilizing upwards of 100k poor people per year. Some were coerced into accepting a sterilization to continue receiving welfare benefits, which is similar to what John was saying up there, but not the same. After the case, doctors were required to obtain informed consent before performing a sterilization. Surprisingly enough, there are a lot of people today who choose to undergo sterilization instead of other birth control methods.

So in summation, Mississippi didn't just sterilize black people, they (and practically every other state) sterilized anyone deemed unfit to reproduce, mostly the mentally retarded. I found nothing about John's claim about getting out of jail time by sterilizing yourself, but plenty of other info on coerced sterilizations.

The funniest part of all this is that John chose to sterilize himself.

Ninja'd by @AnOminous but hey whatever

I know John it must be soul-crushing to be able to play vidya and not worry about to work a single day in your fucking life.

". . . in a really bad mood today. . . . Nothing particularly good [emphasis added] or bad has happened."

Tell us more, Professional Writer John, about something good that might happen and put you in a bad mood. Eejit.

Something good that happened to someone else, that's what.

REEEEEEEEE GAMERGATE.

It's so hilarious to see this still. Who still even talks about Gamergate?
Ethan Ralph an Retard Era. Two z-list e-celeb grifters and a forum barely more functional than Something Awful are the only people who care anymore. It's extremely fitting company for John.

Also all the mediocre and worse 'journalists' who were upset they weren't getting to just set the agenda and have it accepted. Not just gaming journalists, but all the low-rent bottom feeders.

It's why even literally today there's yet another article about how GamerGate was a key part of the culture war - because those same journalists want their readers to never forget their narrative that to doubt them is to be an alt-right Nazi fascist.

It's still unimpressive company, but at least helps explain why it won't die - and why anyone actually still gives Wu a platform despite her being completely useless. GamerGate was very important to them, and they are trying desperately not to shrink into a corn cob all these years later.

I think he has a point!

...but probably not in the way he intended (though cause!?! just a symptom)

John "Total Biscuit" Bain and people celebrating his death is a warning tale

If "gamergaters" were addressed properly - If people who took exception to cronyism, etc weren't unilaterally and automatically labelled misogynists therefore homophobes therefore racists who should burn in hell - then perhaps fewer voters would be alienated and choose to not risk being unpersoned in a new McCarthyism in the beltway the way they are in much of the media

Maybe if a lesbian didn't have to "publicly address the issue" of her transgression : being polite to a former president at a function they both were invited to

Maybe is Bri Bri wouldn't criticize a female pilot or another transwoman for mansplaining

...maybe things would be different

It'll never die because they all need it.

Ralph needs it because it was the time he was the most relevant and popular and John and RE need it because they need a boogieman to justify their actions (and in John's case, continue to grift)
