Left it out in the cold when it was already dying. She came home to a barely alive dog and then tweeted about it because that's obviously more important than the dog. This was somehow Gamergate's fault.
I know it's been a while, but what's always jumped out about that incident to me was that even Wu's supporters called her out on that shit. Like even die-hard Anti-GGers found that shit gauche as hell, and when you're managing to somehow get told to tone shit down by the same crowd that brought you Gamerghazi and RationalWiki, there should be a point in any reasonable person's mind where they go: "You know, maybe this
is bad optics."
The defining characteristic, however, of Wu, is that she's never been capable of even this cursory level of introspection.
Many Lolcows we cover have no ability to realize when they're being shitheads - it's a key element of Lolcowdom - but what makes Wu such a perpetually hilarious read is that Wu has absolutely no ability to stop and go: "
wait a minute, does this make me look like an asshole?" The internal processes that warn someone when they're doing something potentially embarassing in public are simply
absent in Brianna Wu, and through the sheer power of Autism, she gets by via simply pretending they never happened. This, in and of itself, is fascinating, but what makes it so darkly hilarious is that Wu is such an unmitigated prick about it that seeing her fail becomes outright satisfying.
When we first started covering her, I never dreamed that Wu would become such a perpetual source of outright hilarity, but her unique combination of caustic egocentrism, catty pettiness, and complete lack of self-awareness is a combination that just keeps on giving. Short of Wu finally crashing her motorcycle into a ditch, Wu will continue to give us content for as long as she has access to Social Media, a lolcow who cuts across all boundaries in her quest to become a laughingstock.
