Realistically, in the extremely unlikely event that the FEC actually takes action, it would just be a fine of a couple hundred bucks or something like that. Ordinarily I doubt they'd care about such a small-time campaign, but Frank is just so incompetent at this that it sometimes does look like he's trying to "disappear" money off the books.

More like a few thousand. They make a fair amount of their operating budgets by levying fines, and they do it against real campaigns for a lot less than John and Frank have gotten away with.
This is promising:
"Please note, you will not receive an additional notice from the Commission on this
matter. Adequate responses must be received by the Commission on or before the due
date noted above to be taken into consideration in determining whether audit action will
be initiated. Failure to comply with the provisions of the Act may also result in an
enforcement action against the committee. Any response submitted by your committee
will be placed on the public record and will be considered by the Commission prior to
taking enforcement action. Requests for extensions of time in which to respond will
not be considered."
They generally ramp up on repeat violations, and they're probably actually losing patience with this particular scampaign. Next time this happens it could be followed by an audit and that could be followed by fining them for every violation they found, which would be more than they've been called out on up until now.
They generally expect to make money through enforcement actions and fines otherwise they wouldn't bother.
Looks signed by hand to me, and the contact is one "Chris Jones, Campaign Finance Analyst." They probably have John's scampaign on a list for low grade scrutiny after Frank's numerous fuckups.

Nah, that's boilerplate. The exact same wording has been used all the way back to the first "fix this" robo-letter they got in September 2018:
It's been the exact same signature the entire time (compare my link to the original) so I wouldn't count on anyone really paying personal attention yet.

Now I'm just taking a guess based on the tag, but does notability flag means that this person is not notable? If so, then these people have nothing better to do if they're worked up about some scientists (there is a guy in the cropped picture in the screenshot) that haven't done a momentous feat in the science community. Then again I don't know shit about what would be considered as notability in anything other than games and animation, but am I far off or no?
