Jesus christ that dog looks like a stray just brought into a rescue centre. It's not just about the dog being filthy - not having a Havanese properly groomed is cruelty. They're not able to properly groom themselves as they've been selectively bred over many generations to have features humans like, not features that work for the dog. Their ears block with hair, hair in their eyes gives them eye infections etc. And that's ignoring that John probably doesn't even do the most basic of dog care such as claw trims and brushing teeth.

This is one of the things I love about Wu the lolcow - and it exemplifies pretty much everything she regards as an achievement. 'I got a piece published by the Boston Globe!' she crows, not mentioning that it's only on the blog, but also that she paid to do so. And then brags about boingboing linking to it, while skipping over that it's a relic that has very little relevance anymore and that her husband wrote the link.
Just because there is a double standard about how men and women are treated about issues like this does not mean that Katie Hill should get away with doing something just because other men have. Change the rules so that sexual harassment claims can't just be settled and swept under the rug. But don't be ridiculous and claim that Hill should get a pass on this to make it "even".
