I love that tweet because Johns trying to humble brag he knows something about game development to a shitty game journalist at the Washington post. John wants to appear “smart”.

I don't think these politicians, and especially not tech founder Brianna Wu, realize what anti-trust wars against these companies would look like. Microsoft from twenty years ago looks like a mom and pop with some simple country Hyper-Chicken lawyers in comparison to what these entities could bring to war. (And with much of the valley on their side or neutral. Unlike Microsoft.)

I have to think Google especially would be a complete disaster for the government considering how the company is already organized.

Microsoft bought Simplygon(founded in 2006) a couple of years ago and as part of their weird Windows 10 "3D for all" initiative, it is free for personal use and indies, $30k otherwise. Looking up titles on Wikipedia it's been used in games like Bloodborne, Metal Gear Solid 5, Bayonetta 2, Destiny, across UbiSoft's games, Halo, Gears and tons of other stuff.

To answer Wu's question.

Breaking up Facebook won’t do anything, what is needed are regulations on political speech on social media platforms. Which directly impact Brianna Wu aka John Flynt since he does nothing but lie on his twitter account.

edit: Want to know what is probably even more insidious? Tencent buying up media and gaming companies all over the US. It’s owned by the Chinese government essentially and very few people are talking about this. The US needs to do more to tell China to fuck off and get their money out.
