The new testament is about accepting Jesus as your savior, renouncing your previous sinful life and repenting, living a life as free of worldly/sinful temptations as possible, shunning that which is evil (lest it corrupt you into sinning (and possibly losing your salvation)/ leading others to sin), spreading the gospel to others and converting them and basically being super careful not to fuck up or let other people fuck up until you die or the world ends, whichever comes first. It's very clear that this world is temporary and shitty and that therefor the focus should be on ones spiritual life and salvation as preparation for the afterlife while doing one's best, on an individual/local level to make it TOLERABLY shitty for the truly unfortunate.
There is also an apocalyptic fever dream about Nero written by a madman who thought the world would end in his lifetime to close it out.
I'm a Christ-murdering Jew who thinks Jesus was fake news and even I know the Christian Bible better than John.
